Huge let down from these guys.
Ready to get things going but staff don’t work Saturdays to come out to property
The reply was I only work Monday to Friday best of luck
Been waiting almost 2 weeks for a manager to call me. So they don’t do business if you can only do a Saturday for them come out to the property! As a business if I found out my staff did not accommodate customers and letting them go they wouldn’t have a job! The director needs to be more involved.the staff letting customers walk away.

### in response to your reply
Everyone has commitments not just Tracey. Either you want to sell and have staff to accommodate what customers needs or you simply don’t.just imagine how many customers are getting let down by this and not 1 return phone call. You guys can reply to reviews though.
When I called I said whoever can take the Saturday on.
You guys losing x2 customers 1 being ready to go due to this.
$200k lost over not working with customers
The response shows exactly why customers shouldn’t choose you guys
I’m happy I could post the review to show any other future customers

I had a good experience interacting with all Cubitt’s staff from the start to end. I acknowledge them for their professionalism and hard work. It’s been my pleasure working with all of them. I am very pleased with the granny flat and the services I received from Cubitt’s.

Good communication, but not what we were looking for. They do not supply granny flats for owner builders, they supply & build to completion.

I rang the Cubitts team to get information on an extension for my fathers home.
The ph rang maybe twice & I was greeted by a lovely lady (Kate) who took the time to go through all of my questions.
Sent me all the information I needed express post & I received it the next day.
The price/service & I’m sure quality is right with Cubitts!

We have been very happy with the granny flat that Cubbits built for us. Darren our Forman was great and kept us up to date with every stage. 12 months on we are still happy

It has been a mixed bag really. We got the granny flat that we asked for and, other than some oversharing from some of the tradies, everything went quite well. After some time there were a couple of things that needed addressing and it took weeks for someone to respond to my calls. Eventually, some patches were done and we got there in the end. Recently, I put in a request to speak to someone, on a Sunday, and I received a call in 20 minutes. They wrongly assumed it was for new business. When I explained that I needed things fixed, my details were taken. Today will be the fourth call to get someone to even discuss my issues after being promised a call earlier in the week, twice! Disappointing: (

The quality and speed of construction exceeded my expecations and the supervisor Kieren kept me upto date on the progress at least weekly. I am very happy with the end result and would recommend Cubbitt's.

Unfortunately I have not had a very good experience with Ian Cupitt. The granny flat quoted on their website became a $170,000 contract. I was happy to still go ahead as some of the additional work required was unknown quantity. However, the quality of the work and service did not justify a granny flat built at this price range. I have experienced the following issues and still waiting for them to address via Fair Trading NSW and potential tribunal:

1) It was found that Ian Cupitt did not address on of the conditions on the building certificate in relation to remediation of council property and led to significant delays in obtaining the OC. The issue is fixed 4 MONTHS after the handover date and still on going.

2) They have damaged the existing sewage pipe when pouring concrete for the piers. The work were inspected by two certified plumbers hired at my own cost, both said that the plumbing done was very questionable. I now have sewage oozing out in my backyard and Ian Cupitt refused it had anything to do with them despite the issue with the sewage pipe occurred right when construction started and this was inspected by certified plumber to be the case. The damaged pipe is also RIGHT UNDERNEATH where the granny flat is built.

They are quick to ask you for money and was extremely dismissive when I asked for these issues to be investigated. The headache and the drain on both my mental and physical health, all I can say is stay away. I will now leave it to the NSW Fair Trading to investigate and will have to deal with backflowing sewage at my own health expense!

When I first enquired about building a granny flat, I sought two quotes. While the other company also "knew their stuff" it was the extra care and upfront disclosure from Cubitt's that won me over.
They were very upfront about all fees and charges and under-promised but over-delivered on all aspects of the job.
The granny flat was completed well within the scheduled time and exceeded our expectations.
Their customer service is first-class and I felt I definitely got value for money.
Highly recommend Cubitt's for anyone looking to build a granny flat.

Have had nothing but trouble from start, gas leak day one, yes they came out and put 4 holes in the lounge room wall looking for the leak, which they found in the roof from a nail puncture, bodged up the wall and left, had wrong tv connections in all the rooms which I had to pay to get fixed, outside cladding just fell off, damaged my gate and garage with excavator, and fitted a part in the shower which had hairline fracture in it which leaked and and ruined the flooring, which they refuse to fix as parts only have 12 months warranty. Obviously a hairline fracture doesn’t lleak a lot of water it took 2 years to show up on damage floorboards My granny flat is only 2 years old! …. When I try to speak to Harry I have to put my phone private or he will not answer…And when I do he is rides d dismissive …. Taking them to Dept Fair trading … Do yourself a favour and Do Not

At about 10: 30 this morning 12 February I was almost struck by one of this company's white utes whilst crossing the (very clearly marked) pedestrian crossing in the Cranebrook shopping centre carpark. If that's how careless your staff are to people's safety then I'll certainly be advising any of my friends or family in the Penrith area seeking a Granny flat or home extension NOT to use your company due to the reckless attitude of your staff. For your info the ute's rego was CB-91-QO.

Cubitts have just completed all the above work plus more in building an upper floor granny flat for us on our son and wife's single story home, including concreting of new carport floor. They are the most supportive and professional contractors I have ever employed. From their on-site supervisor to all others who worked on site, everyone was co-operative, nothing seemed to be too much trouble, any alterations we wanted were carried out quickly and well. The job was completed 2 months before contract date, and we are very happy with the end result. We would happily recommend Cubitts to anyone considering this option!

I went to Cubitt's to look at the exhibition homes and talk about building options.
Jane was really helpful and I got the information I was looking for.

Tradies are very efficient with their work. Started to build the 2 bedroom granny flat in Feb and finished the job in May, before the deadline. Happy with their finished work!

I have been in my granny flat now for 4mths now and I am very happy, with Ian Cubitts. The sevice and professionalism was great. Quality of workmanship exceeded in my view was exceptional. When I first went to show room at Mayfield in Newcastle I was greeted by Terry who helped me step by step and told me all cost everything was all up front and no hidden cost or fees at end. I would not hesitate in recommend this company to anyone.

We had a granny flat built with Ian Cubitt’s. They were wonderful at selling but when it came time for construction there was a never-ending stream of problems that they always dragged their feet to fix.

The people installing the gyprock smoked under the windows filling the house with smoke and left cigarette butts on site.

They didn't install the antenna correctly and took three months to fix it. The contractor I was speaking with was very condescending and would not show up at the agreed times or answer phone calls.

The kitchen and laundry sink leaked water, the toilet wasn't installed properly. We had to get the plumber out on 3 separate occasions.

They didn't install the awning at the front door which we paid $700+ for and then offered us a refund of $250.

The front door didn't shut and took them weeks to come out and fix.

We were offered the Ohmie smart home package (it is even in the contract) they installed one of the two smart lights, we didn't get the KEVO Bluetooth keyless lock entry, the VOLTRO energy monitor or the Ring doorbell.

Every time there was an issue, we would have to send emails after emails to get them to even respond, and when they would eventually respond they would take weeks to rectify the issue.

We are sick and tired of trying to communicate with this company that we have decided to cut our losses as they ignore requests and take months to get anything done. Absolutely awful experience and would not recommend anyone engage this company.
