Hobbyco reviews
75Great store for hobby enthusiasts. Has all the tiny tools and accessories you could ever ask for. Reasonable pricing as well and has some of the latest models that I was looking for. Worth visiting for sure!
Hobbyco is just wow.
I was a small rare customer pre-Covid and found as a super casual customer hobbyco pretty neat, during covid however?
Knocked my socks off Hobbyco has just such a fantastic extensive range, im more into gundam kit building (thanks to these guys) and the team was so amazing helping me know where to get started to tools and detailing of my kits.
The QVB team are always happy to help and are great at helping out beginners all the way up to experts, if you're in the CBD of Sydney you would be crazy not to check out the shop.
My online experience with Hobbyco however has been a pretty ok experience, apart from a recent warehouse issue I was really quick to receive communication on my order. Apart from that covid has clearly impacted the delivery times but my kits have always come in good condition when ordering, the website looks like its going through some growing pains but the start is a pretty ok start.
The only thing i'd like to see improvement with is the members card, maybe special events or a type of loyalty rewards program could be awesome to see, however 10% off all purchases is still pretty good!
Went to hobbyco today at 4pm (19/1/21). U need to teach your male worker at the checkout customer service manners etc. When serving a customer your suppose to serve next in line!
The first time i went there was when i was 7 signed in the book and bought my first model there, the staff was friendly and was helpful even going as far as to help a kid get into a live time hobby, even now the staff may be different but the same still apply the team knows what they are doing and happy to help. Yes i could be frightening when you hear others talk about things like figures and model get the right staff and they could stand there for a happily for a whole 15 minutes talking to you about it.
Amazing hobby shop with all your hobby needs. They have many models and hard to get spare parts. They also have an assortment of model rockets in different shapes and sizes. Staff are OK but exceptional.
It was our first visit to your impressive store in the Queen Victoria Building and we will certainly be returning. The friendly service and advice we received from Nathan was exceptional.
Brian and Kay Jarvie.
I always enjoy coming to hobbyco. They have a vast range or hobby items from plane models, puzzles, anime figures and many more.
Something for everyone here and stepping inside will make you have flashbacks of your youth as a little boy.
For the adult there is plenty of things to wonder at too. A wide range of model paints available for many other projects you might have.
Just plain bad customer service. Im not sure if they are rude or just socially awkward but alot of bad experience. Would prob just switch to online shopping at this point not worth dealing with the staff
Stuff knowledge limiting, pushing expensive product that you clearly don't need. Make sure you do your research before you come into store.
Fantastic range of models and building supplies. Very helpful staff. Reasonable prices, considering the location.
300th review for Hobbyco!
Hobbyco is one of the oldest and most well known hobby stores in Australia. They have a great range of items from tools to plastic model kits. This store has a lot to offer. Some of their products are heavily marked up though.
Wherever I find myself in the world I always hunt out a city centre model shop and buy a kit to add to my stash. Hobbyco in the Queen Victoria Building (QVB), in Sydney, is quite simply the best hobby shop I have every visited. I hope I have the chance to visit again sometime.
Biggest selection of toys of possibly anywhere in Australia. Great walls of pop vinyls and dedicated sections for model trains.
Hobbyco is a hobby store in Sydney. Something not to be sneezed at. It is not everything a serious modeller wants, but it exists. As a result I award it 5 stars and encourage people to keep it open.
Long live Hobbyco.
From my experience, this shop is only good for window shopping. Everything there is extremely overpriced. This goes with all the hobbyco stores. Can easily find cheaper elsewhere. With that said, they do have a large variety of products in store.
If you like Train Sets, Model-making, or Toys of all descriptions you will like HobbyCo. We go here to buy model ship kits, and to look at the model Trains. It's always busy, and it has a lot of stock so the aisles are small. Once you bring in your Male of a certain age, you may struggle to get him out again.
This is how toy and hobby shops all should be! Great range of goodies to amuse all ages and tastes.
Hobby I would have to be the best known hobbyists store in Australia. There is a huge variety of hobby products that would fit into most people’s interests. The QVB building Hobbyco has an excellent range of electric trains and an amazing display window at the entrance of the store.
Great place! I came for the airplane models and was really suprised with how big the sortiment was. Also loads of model railway stuff and lego.
For being a "regular" toy store, this one even beats most of the dedicated aircraft model stores I've been to. 5/5
