Heartwood Creative Woodworking

I recently completed the 8 week Introductory Course and I loved everything about it. The workshop was extremely well-equipped and beautifully organised. Our instructors, Niall and Shane, were knowledgeable, friendly and very helpful. Each week we were introduced to new skills to allow us to move on with our projects. Spoon Carving Basics one day class at Heartwood Creative was an absolute pleasure. Carol and Stuart are natural teachers and passionate about sharing their knowledge. They patiently and clearly took us through the process of hand carving a wooden spoon from beginning to end - by the end of the class I felt familiar with the tools and techniques and equiped with the foundation knowledge to continue trying this at home. The workspace was also a really considered, enjoyable environment to spend a Saturday carving. Highly recommend and I look forward to booking another class with Heartwood!

Stuart, Carol & the team at Heartwood do an amazing job in running you through the fundamental skills through the beginner and follow on courses. I have a good grasp of all the skills practiced in the course and how to apply them at home. Would highly recommend

There are wooding working classes, then there's Stuart who really takes the time to show you how to do things properly. The teachers' expertise, passion, and workshop facilities adds up to a great learning experience.

I really enjoyed myself spending time at the workshop with Stuart and Carol. They really manage to create a warm, welcoming, and educational environment where I had the opportunity to learn some tricks and techniques from Stu's invaluable wealth of knowledge and experinece.

Patience, encouragement, and a sense of familiarity make Heartwood not only a great opportunity for learning, but more importnaly, a memorable experience.

As a self taught hobbyist woodworker, it was an absolute blast to share time in the workshop with an experineced woodworker and be exposed to some equipment and techniques I had never had the chance to use.

On top of it, the design of 'My Bench' is great. You really take home a brilliant workbench capable of handling any project you throw at it. Stable, robust, and versatile, it has definitely exceeded my expectations.

Highly recommended, if you're thinking about learning and/or a new workbench, stop thinking, go for it! It's totally worth it.

Heartwood Creative is absolutely fantastic! The machines and tools are top-notch, and just what you need for the projects they have designed, surpassed only by the quality of the tuition and assistance given in using them. The teachers are patient, professional and very friendly, and help achieve results far beyond what I would have expected to be able to produce.

Fantastic and safe work environment, lovely people who are passionate about what they do. Will definitely be back to learn more.

Did 8x8 intro course, enjoyed every week of it, so much more than I had expected. Matt and Sebastian were knowledgeable, friendly and incredibly helpful especially after missing two classes and had lots to catch up. They lead the class in timely manner but never rush, creating a relaxed and happy atmosphere. Carol and Stuart are friendly and welcoming too. Love the cheese board and box I made and taking them home was simply rewarding. Highly recommend to any novice in the area!

Stuart, Carol and Niall provide a great environment for learning new skills. Their workshop is well equipped, they are all knowledgeable and friendly and they are committed to helping students achieve good results. In both the spoon making and steamed shaker box workshops, I made items that I was really happy with as well as learning new skills. The small group format makes it easy to see each technique being taught, to ask questions and to get help or advice when you need it. The groups have all been friendly and fun. Carol does a great job keeping participants fed and hydrated. I am looking forward to doing more courses at Heartwood.

My boyfriend and I took part in the spoon carving day course last Sunday and we had such a good time. I thought I'd end up going home with a spork or chopstick but thankfully Carol and Stuart were very informative and helped us as a group and individually throughout the day.
Everyone ended up walking out with these masterpieces, was such a wonderful achievement regardless of the size of the creation. A great way to spend a Sunday and learn a new hobby.
Can't wait to be back there for another project, thank you if you guys read this! See you again!

After watching countless of youtube videos on woodworking I decided to take the spoon carving workshop with Carol and Stuart. I had such an amazing time carving my spoon and chatting to Carol and Stuart. The class was small enough that you always had one on one time with them if you needed help.
I just signed up for the 8x8 intro class, I can't wait to continue learn and develop my wood working skills.

Simply a fantastic experience. I recently completed the 8 X week introduction coarse as I was a complete beginner and I was blown away by the warmth, patience and professionalism of the instructors. Both Arjuna and Stuart provided an excellent learning environment and their passion, support and enthusiasm made the coarse both educational and fun!

With such enthusiastic and supportive teachers it's impossible not to come away from a course at Heartwood without a love for woodworking. I cannot recommend highly enough.

Just finished my second 8x8 workshop with Heartwood Creative and loved every minute of it. If you are in anyway interested in woodwork i thoroughly recommend both the intro and follow on course. Stuart and Carol (And the rest of heartwood creative team) have created a welcoming environment for people with varying levels of woodwork skills. Stuart is an excellent teacher with a tonne of patience the weekly 3 hour sessions flew by. Ill definitely be back for more.thx again guys

About to finish up my 8 week intro course and absolutely loved the experience. The workshop is very well maintained never seen a workshop so clean and neat. The tools we used are top notch and well maintained everything just functions so well there.

Credit definitely goes to Stuart and his crew (Carol and Shane), they are all very down to earth people and they run a very relaxed atmosphere. It has been the perfect place for me to go and just switch off and just concentrate on woodworking (which I never knew I loved so much until now).

If you think you have even a slight interest in woodworking but don't know where to start then I highly recommend coming here. Thank you so much to Stuart, Shane and Carol for a great experience hopefully Ill be back soon for the follow up course.
