Great cellar door and dog friendly as well. The staff was extremely friendly, knowledgeable and gave us also great advice on dog friendly restaurants. The wine was also a very good surprise, especially the shiraz. Unfortunately we could not have nibbles on that day at the cellar door but we still had a really good experience on the deck

We had an 11.15am booking. Unfortunately our first tasting ran overtime. We tried to phone 3 times to let them know. On the 4th attempt they answered. We agreed to a new time of 11.45am. Wish we hadn’t. Most unfriendly cellar door any of us have ever been to.

Staff was visibly annoyed, huge attitude to us from the start. Poured wine and told us nothing about it…

Not the best experience. Other groups seemed to be having a warmer experience.

Recommend you visit their neighbours though

I booked a tasting for 4 adults. It was our second stop for the day and we were already behind schedule. I called the winery to let them know and they were so lovely and accommodating, it made the rushed trip over less stressful.
Our tasting experience was excellent. We shared a number of small platters, cheeses and cured meats etc but of course we were there for the wine.
Gundog is one of my favourite multi-region producers and the wines we tasted were of exceptional quality.
My favourite being the Hilltops Shiraz and the Rutherglen Muscat.
Kylie looked after really well, she made the tasting experience a real joy.
Thanks team, we all had a great time and left with some wines to devour over Christmas.
Would definitely recommend. Also, we went with the standard tasting, $10pp. Totally worth it. Do yourself a favour and get over to Gundog!

After looking at many positive reviews we decided to try Gundog and unfortunately left feeling rather disappointed. The wines were okay but the service and experience of the tasting was very poor especially since we each paid 10pp for it. Noticed a few other reviews of the same nature and think the later the tastings in the day the worse they get, we did a 3pm tasting. Such a shame

I felt very rushed at our tasting. I know it was at the end of the day but still should have a good experience. Wine average. Will not be going back here again. Personality of people doing this tasting lacked big time did not make me want to buy any wine. I would hope that you review my review and give me feedback as a continuation improvement going forward

Great cellar door. Lovely wine. Smaller and more intimate experience than some of the larger estates in the region.

Our group had such a lovely time at Gundog estate, there wasn’t a wine on the tasting menu that we didn’t like. The sommelier was extremely passionate and knowledgeable. She was genuine and informative and made our experience the best of the day. Would highly recommended.

Gundog Estate was EXCEPTIONAL! My brother and I did a wine tour on Friday just gone, and we loved every second of the experience we had at Gundog Estate. We both said it was the stand out from our day. We had Kylie as our server, she did not disappoint! Kylie went above and beyond to ensure we had a selection of wines we would love, ensuring we got to try all of the reds, with some very exciting surprises with the whites. Kylie was phenomenal at her job, allowing us to retry some of the reds before we made a decision on purchase. We walked away with a haul of wine and are so thankful for the amazing experience. MUST try the Muscat chocolate balls - will be returning for these! Off Dry Semillon and Hunter Shiraz and Reserve Muscat were the standouts of the day!

My partner and I loved visiting gundog estate for the third time. Each time we visit the Hunter it is a must! Not only are the wines amazing the staff are friendly, approachable, down to earth and super caring. We picked up a couple of good bottles including their Hunter Shiraz and a semillon. We can’t thank the ladies enough who made it an enjoyable day for us both.

Fabulous little find. Surprise winery with absolutely fabulous, knowledgeable staff. Seek Lily out for exceptional wine appreciation and advise. The cellar offers some lovely reds. Try the musket and then buy the musket chocolates. Don't miss this cellar door

My friend and I arrived quite late in the afternoon and we were unsure if they were even doing tastings still. The staff were so welcoming and it was clearly no trouble at all. Lilly looked after us so well and really knew her stuff around the wines. Had some really delicious wine and it was a truly great experience. Thanks again Lilly and the rest of the team. We'll see you again.

Love Gundog Estate, every time we visit the team there are upbeat, great to chat to, hugely knowledgeable and the wine (and coffee) are both exemplary. Will be back (again!)
