Fitness Playground Marrickville

Great gym with good facilities and equipment but poor and unprofessional management. Will be looking elsewhere.

Continue to direct debit my while gym is closed. Everyone should check their credit card statement because this gym has disgraceful.

Very reasonable prices and lots of equipment and classes. Can there be more soap and sanitizers though? I've been asking for months

It's a very low buget gym with below standard amenities. Changing area is a corridor, the showers are moldy with empty or smashed soap dispensers and cold running water at low pressure. The water might run hot after 10 min but if someone washes thier hands then your blasted with cold. Also, the door to the men's changing area is wedged open so people on the open gym area can see to whoever is exiting the showers, great for voyers. The door andis wedged because it's warped, probably damp. No privacy at all. The boxing area is open for any gym goer to blast the room with there own music and the personal trainers get special privilege for doing this when they are training (not actually teaching a class) The floors are generally not vacuumed and there are a lot of school kids who behave like kids running around at peak times, shirts off and dominaing areas of the gym. These issues are constant with the Surry Hills and Newtown location as well. It's cheap for a reason, if your ok with the above then it's it's not necessarily a bad gym. Just poorly managed as a building with absolutely no comfort or basic functional amenities.

I had a moment today where I forgot my Locker number and was stuck for a while though I called one of the Staff members, out of working hours and they were more than happy to help me over the phone even though he wasn't able to help me locate my stuff though the support was there. One thing he said to me was you sound surprisingly calm for this type of situation, and it made me think why am I so calm and happy having my life stuck in a metal tin box, and I realised that the Yoga class that I finished 1 hour or so before has made an impact to my reactions, literally no stress what so ever just calm and open minded. Absolutely felt amazing after the Yin Yoga class! Definitely recommend it! And thank you to the Team Member that was kind enough to help me at 10pm!

Continued charging my account 4 months after I cancelled. I had to fight hard even after I told them I'm pregnant with severe morning sickness in hospital and unable to work and cop these wrongful charges. Absolutely RUTHLESS.

The most painful part was dealing with the untrained staff who just come up with their own banking rules. They seemed to think that direct debit runs into infinity, regardless of cancellation haha.literally a JOKE!

I never complained about how half the machines always had "OUT OF ORDER" signs on them when I was there. I am the patient type. But the ongoing direct debit, and refusal to reimburse my Bank Dishonour Fees when I am pregnant and unemployed just ticked me off the edge. That is simply a GUN TO THE HEAD.

Amazing trainers. I had Sisso who made my experience challenging yet fun. His so knowledgeable and exceeded all expectations. Highly recommend the gym and Sisso!

40%+ of the cardio equipment is broken at all times, no air con and its become impossible to park. The hipster vibe and cool neo lights doesn't make up for the complete disregard to get broken equipment fixed, some cardio machines have literally been broken for months now. It's a bit cheaper than a Fitness First if you don't want to go to all the classes but it's pretty hard to get a decent workout in at peak times with so much broken equipment. I've recently cancelled my membership for these reasons.

Great gym and lovely people but feels over subcribed and air con if not turned on is not powerful enough for how packed they are, ive heard people comment the same thing and seen people dripping sweat, red faced even, it feels about 32 degrees inside.

Continues to charge after cancelling membership. Agrees to refund extra charges then charges again. A business that just steals money until you fight back.
(And will reply to a negative review from a friend faster than a paying customer)

Good gym, nice people, only thing preventing 5 stars is that it seems to be way over subscribed. Lately I've been going there at 9pm to try to dodge the evenig peak hour and still have to wait for a squat rack or bench.

Simply an excellent gym. Very impressed. Great staff, and facilities. Better than my local! Thanks again for inviting us to come and run an in-service for your dedicated staff.

Just as it is easy to obtain the membership should be the cancellation, I do not understand how it is possible for me to request the cancellation of the service through an email and that in the response they gave me back does not say that I should approach the Gym to be It validates the cancellation of the service and I continued to accumulate the service charge, the truth is that I consider that they are not honest and they show that the only thing that matters to them is money.

The equipment is new and well looked after. The gym is clean and the facilities are really nice All of the trainers are friendly and encouraging. The new make over of the gym is sweet!
Loki loves to punish us in PT! But worth the results!

NO abbduction and adduction machines and too much of loud music all night its toooooooo loud to entertain.

I have been attending Fitness Playground for nearly 5 years, at both the Marrickville and Surry Hills locations. The staff are always super friendly and helpful, and my trainer Loki Milton has helped me greatly on my way to achieving my fitness goals. The gyms are well equipped, great value for money and let me train when and how I want. Would recommend to anyone.

I've been going to FP in Marrickville for over 4 years now and I love it! I'm a huge advocate for the gym, the facilities are great and all the trainers are super friendly and helpful.
