Rating one star as I cannot rate 0. Run away from this medical centre. I can’t tell about all doctors but the one I’ve seen is terrible l, clearly he has no understanding of medicine and no love for his profession, patients are treated just as a number and he can’t even read a blood test properly. Not to mention that the costumer service at the reception is also terrible.

I was really sick with a chest infection caught from my daughter
I phone up at 430pm and secured a booking for 9am the next morning
I was there early to fill a new patient form
Upon arrival they did not acknowledge my booking and both ladies at front desk were extremely rude and made me feel stupid
So unprofessional and not nice as I was not feeling well

Not the greatest medical centre but not the worst.

Good:
1. Doctors are really good, especially Dr Yeung and Dr Pandit.they are very experienced and friendly
2. Front counter reception are firm but friendly and helpful.
3. Good location in the shopping centre

Bad:
1. No longer bulk bills so about $70 per visit (can claim back $30 from medicare)
2. Need to call on the day if they accept 'walk-ins' or appointment only.
3.usual wait time is about 40min+ (suggest go have a coffee and then come back)

I had previously made some comments about the EMC, which were probably not the best "at the time - a few years have passed now.
I didn't give up on them because I believe that everyone 'is entitled' to have a bad day, so I continued to seeking their services. And it was a great decision.
Now, after having been there all these years, it appears that we have tuned up, and I am having a first class service.
My GP, who has been always the same, makes me feel like my health matters to him; giving me the best advice and referrals to some of the best specialist in Sydney.
The location is also convenient; very accessible, with free parking, buses and shopping. In front of it, there's a Chemist for your convenience as well. There is space and you don't feel claustrophobic while waiting which usually is not that long.
Also, considering that other allied services are inside; Physiotherapy, (also very capable professionals) nurse, pathology collections, etc. You don't need to leave the premises to get many of the services you need.
If you have bookings and by some reason conditions change, they will call and re-book your appointment.
So, if the nice people at the counter react in a way that does't please you that day, please be 'patient' (isn't that your title there? Lol) the next time they will be smilingly helping you.
Be well, life is already beautiful, and the people at the EMC make it even better.
PS: . Oh, please don't forget your mask.:) CHEERS!

Avoid. Overcrowded by shoppers who treat this like another shop in westfield. More importantly, the doctors here aren’t much chop; they couldn’t get me out of there fast enough

Complete waste of time!
They open at 8AM but no docs until 9: 30AM. They don’t bulk bill either.

Dr Harinath outright refuses to prescribe opioid pain relievers for those suffering with severe pain or injury even with patients that have a long and established relationship with him. I cannot take anti-inflammatory medication as I have IBS and he knows this and these medicines aggravate my condition.

Furthermore, pain management should be a combination of therapy and medication but outright refusal of pain relief when someone needs it so they can continue working is not what I would call a good doctor or good practice in general. No compassion whatsoever from this clinic. I won't ever be returning.

EDIT: Responding to owners response.

Opioids are not harmful when used responsibly, as prescribed and under close supervision of the doctor. Not to mention that they're the most effective medicines for relieving pain. Your clinics view is very narrow minded and the reason why I have moved to a new clinic that actually understands a patients needs. There's is no one size fits all when it comes to medication and you don't seem to understand this. I have also put in a complaint with the medical board about this matter and you will be hearing from them.

The low reviews made me sceptical when I first came here but I've been here a lot in the past couple of years with my family and they've always been very helpful, kind and personable. From the ladies on the front desk to the GPs. I'm really glad they're my local clinic.

Dr Steven Yung, we are blessed that you are our doctor!
We can't thank you enough for the excellent care you have provided to me and my whole family as your patients.
You're very understanding and listens to our concerns.
I am so glad I chose Eastgarden Medical Centre and would highly recommend to anyone.

Reception staff are rude and have no empathy at all.
The also read out your address so others can hear it to confirm your details

The reception are horrible and rude. They don’t seem to have very good social skills or compassion.

The nurse who did my sons immunisations was also rude.

I am new to this area and my doctors before have always been friendlier to myself and kids so I don’t understand how this is ok to treat people so mean and unprofessional?

Get new receptionist asap

Reply to their reply. The rudeness had nothing to do with waiting I didn’t have to wait long at all, it was just the receptionist being rude and unprofessional and the way they speak to all the patients disgusting

Rude receptionist (curly blonde with glasses), when asked how much longer to wait for my father after been waiting for an hour, she just said I don't know, and wouldn't even looked at me, very dismissive. Just because she is an old staff doesn't mean she is any good (i can see many negative comments directed at her) doctor isn't any better either (won't even get into details about how unprofessional he is). Will try to change GP for my father after this.

Was very scared to go there after reading all the reviews. But my experience was OK. You can tell the receptionists are under stress and poor time management is true. I was lucky though did not wait more than 30 minutes. And the GP was nice.

Avoid this place at any cost. Confusion, rudeness and incompetence are the first three words coming to my mind thinking about my experience here. This place should be closed down!

The online booking system tells you to call the medical centre if you have cold or flu symptoms which I did. I call and tell the receptionist my covid tests are negative but I now live out of area so if I could have a phone consultation for a certificate and a prescription that would be great, she said that was okay and told me that Dr Harinath would call me sometime in the day. I receive the phone call and start to explain that I need a certificate for work and antibiotics as I am sick. The doctor becomes extremely rude and tells me he cannot help me and phone consults are for covid positive patients only and as I am about to ask him for a solution he hangs up on me.
I thought the phone consult would be the best solution as I have attended the centre with cold and flu symptoms before and the receptionist at the time told me that it wasn’t good that I came in because even though my RAT tests were negative they could have been wrong.
Never dealing with this centre again and I am now stuck rushing to find a new doctor with availability today in order to get a prescription and medical certificate. And because Medicare has changed I will have to pay to become a new patient somewhere else!

This is by far the worst medical center. Don’t understand how you can’t go and get antibiotics without a pcr test - there are other illnesses other than Covid. The reception staff have the most disgusting attitude - website hasn’t been updated to say pcr test is needed - yet they’re turning away sick people. Avoid at all costs if you’re actually sick. They won’t let you in.

I would rate them lower if I could, I am very surprised they haven't been closed down. The reception staff are super rude.
I had a 0915 appointment. I was still waiting at 1100,2 of the doctors hadn't even came to work yet. Sighting traffic as an excuse. I asked if someone else could do my whooping cough vaccine and they said doctors don't do anyway and we don't have any nurses today so you will need to come back another day, So dismissive and didn't care at all. It was actually unbelievable how dismissive she was. I had confirmed the week before why I was coming in. The doctors are terrible and don't care about the patients from past experience, avoid at all costs.

I gave it 1 star for nostalgia because it used to be an excellent medical centre. Oh, they take walk-ins, bulk bill if you've been a patient, concession card holders/pensioners and kids; and it is very conveniently located. However, since many doctors have left (including the original managing director), IMO it has gone downhill at a rapid rate. They don't allow unvaccinated patients in, which seems irrational with a 95% vaccination rate. They gave no notice that unvaccinated patients would not be permitted entry, yet send promotional material if they have your address. Doctor-patient confidentiality now means very little when a patient has to discuss with a receptionist what their medical issues are to get a phone consult. For about 6 months, they weren't even answering their phones, but lied and said they were. Staff probably have low morale from taking the brunt of frustrated patients. I don't know who actually manages the joint, but they couldn't run the local chook raffle IMO. Shopping centre management were powerless to get the medical centre to act professionally. I have no idea what the reception staff were doing rather than answer the phones since many patients were getting phone consultations. But the doctors must have been making huge amounts of money through the vaccine rollout. So, no excuse, there has been no downturn for GPs. Previously reasonable doctors seem to no longer care, rushing you in and out. One, in particular, made a finding without any proper medical basis and neglected to take my mother's blood pressure for years, despite prescribing blood pressure pills. My mother could have died since another doctor found it to be extremely elevated and the script had to be adjusted. After decades of being patients, we are done and will not return. I doubt they'd have a busy practice if they didn't take walk-ins. If you need to see a GP without an appointment and you're local, it's just ok, as long as you don't want anything slightly out of the ordinary. I agree that Dr Steven Yung is the best of a very ordinary bunch (to be kind). Oh, Dr Rust is also great, but only works there 1 day per week. It's hard to get in to see Dr Yung and he's been quite stressed for a a couple of years, so not as friendly and meticulous as he used to be.

Have attended this medical centre for the last 20+ years and recent experience has been completely unacceptable. I waited for over 2 hours to see a doctor before giving up and walking out. Receptionist are rude and dismissive.
