Diggies Cafe reviews
58Great cafe right on the beach side in North Wollongong. Food and service are fantastic while the view of the beach is amazing.
Great cafe right down on the beach, we had a perfect window table with that alfresco open window feel such a beautiful popular spot with the locals, we had a beautiful breakfast for family of 4 included eggs Benny, Bircher muesli, big mixed breakfast,
Fresh fruit bowl with double espresso and cappuccino the food was of perfect portions and tasted fresh and well presented, the friendly staff were everywhere as this place is well managed and the coffee is great.
Wouldn't allow me to book a table for less than 5 people. A bit of a stupid policy which led us to place a booking elsewhere.
Food was excellent, coffee was amazing and the service was first class. Not to mention the views. I had an awesome experience here and hope to come back again soon
The odd thing is that they don't take more than one NSW Dine voucher for a table no matter how many people are served. This is something I had never experienced with any other businesses. They were claiming it was their POS, but when I asked if that was their system problem they denied. Anyway, to me it is never acceptable to treat customers like that. Maybe they should be kicked out of NSW Dine businesses as they don't care about the customers who would like to be benefited by this facility. I attach the invoice and the manager's writing as evidence. That's a disgrace!
Lively and friendly atmosphere. Jam packed even on a weekday lunch. Delicious food and quality coffee. Only downfall were the hash browns that tasted heavily of old oil. Would return for sure.
Coffee is good. However meal are quite pricey with small amount.
2 mins After meal ordered, I was hoping to change my choice. However, kitchen staff said it was made. I know it wasn’t. It’s just been lazy to change. As our meal came after 15 mins.
Understand it’s a very busy cafe. However. Customer’s needs seems not the first priority.
Absolutely brilliant location, scrumptious breaky and the chai lattes are to die for. One of my fave places for breakfast
Still a gem after all these years. I have been coming here for over 10 years and the menu Is still fresh, service excellent and part of the reason I started drinking coffee.
For those looking to come here, try sitting inside at the bench seat - I reckon it’s the best place.
Had brunch with friends here before, squid ink aioli amazed me a lot! Must try!
Dog friendly beach walk around here, u can sit by the beach and smell the breeze while having wonderful meal here!
Reviewed this as 5 stars as last time I visited it was excellent. I came back today and left disappointed.
2 of the beers on the menu, that I was keen for, were out of stock.
The Roast Lamb special was 2 small lamb chops of which only 20% would have been meat, the rest was fat. My lamb chops were cooked blue rare (didn't request this) so sent it back to the kitchen and was delighted that the replacement included 2 meaty, well cooked, lamb chops. This, along with what came across as a sincere apology from the kitchen, is the reason for 3 stars rather than 2.
I had originally asked for the breakfast burrito without avocado but I was informed that they couldn't do that because it was premade. Had I known it was premade, I wouldn't have asked for it in the first place - dodged a bullet there.
I found a few of the staff to be delightful and keen to give us a positive experience, while the rest didn't seem too happy to be there. I have found this to be the case on both my visits here.
I did enjoy the view and vibes, so willing to give it another shot in a month or so to see if I can get a better experience out of it.
We went here today. It was a busy place as we need to queue at the front. We were greeted by the host. The staff was friendly and very helpful.
When we decided to order some food, they said all of the item that we ordered wasn’t available. The coffee arrived COLD and the chai was just chai tea infused with cold milk. None of the milk was hot. That was a bit disappointing.
The food was okay not too bad until we found fish bone inside the fish burger.
4 star for the staff
2 star for the food and coffee
Food was as wonderful as the view looking out onto the ocean. Went on a Friday night for dinner and was able to book for two, normally for breakfast and lunch they only take bookings for 5 or more.
Will certainly go again.
Arrived with a party of seven, there was a couple waiting in front of us for a table. The staff member was 'cleaning' a large table for them but actually she was chatting at length with already seated customers. After about ten minutes of us waiting in the hot sun she ushered the couple to this large table despite the fact that there was room to seat a couple at other tables. When one of our party questioned why she had done this the server snapped very rudely that the couple had arrived first which we realised and were not disputing. Rude unacceptable customer service.
The view and atmosphere is wonderful but the menu is a little tired and the service is a little erratic. A place for if your heart is set on a beach vibe, but be prepared to pay a premium for the location.
Diggies had fallen from good.it's has failed to evolve but it's menu is fail safe, though the scene with the view makes up for the standard menu.
This place is very popular and reserving a table would be recommended.
Personally I didn't enjoy my food, all the ingredients of my dish were not very good quality and tasted strange to me. Portion size was very reasonable and price is in the range you'd expect for a seaside restaurant.
The staff were friendly and explained about the Covid-19 precautions clearly.
Probably wouldn't go back, but a great spot if all you care about is a social media worthy location.
Terrible service and food. Eggs were uncooked, cutlery were made out of recycled wood that broke on first use with kids running around tables like it was a mcdonalds. All for $40. Will not eat here again, avoid.
Highly popular eatery with long queues, and for very good reason. Staff were very friendly and efficient, we thoroughly enjoyed our brunch overlooking North Beach. We booked ahead, which is highly recommended.
Diggies is an Amazing eatery, and Location they Hold a Delicious Menu by the Beach, We’ve dined many times over the past 8 years. I Booked Diggies Deck seating for yesterday with attending with Family members & requiring a Highchair for Our Babygirl, the Seating had been mixed Up, thou Staff promptly allocated Our seating and were Friendly, Helpful and Overall Lovely to Us. Everyone was Very Satisfied with Our Meals! Excellent Menu - Genuinely Lovely Staff We will most definitely be going back to Diggies Nth Wollongong for many years to Come.
