Coffs Harbour Butterfly House reviews
61Dear mr butterfly man, your butterfly house was moist and full of dead butterflies. Thank you for taking my hard earned money. Well played sir.
Don’t believe it’s worth the $55 per family. Kids enjoyed the maze and the mirror maze. We spent about 1 hour and the dinosaur show only goes for about 10min and has 1 dinosaur.
Nice little spot. Not huge but great if you have kids as there is a dinosaur area and show, mirror maze and outdoor maze as well as the butterfly house and cafe and gift shop. Nice stop
Very interesting, great displays in the controlled atmosphere with the butterflies which are very friendly and land on you. Enjoyed the maze with it's surprise button at the centre.
It's so magical being able to get so close to so many butterflies. Also incredible seeing all their pupae, many of them hatching. The maze is a good way to stretch the legs from the road trip. Well worth checking out.
Beautiful butterflies
Nice Dino show, lovely and exciting Dino trail with animatronics.
Food in a cafe simple but home-like, service is very friendly. Great tea selection and good coffee! Keep in mind, cafe open from 10.30am and to 1.30pm only, so not the same times as Butterfly House itself. And Dino show is running on a timetable too, last show was 1pm when we visited.
Maze was my favourite:) I loved it's made from wood and partially seen through:)
Great attraction with interactive sessions for the kids. Butterfly collection quite good and great support for Seniors and our Defence/Emergency services personnel. Cafe does great Muffins and coffee.
A fun place to spend some time with butterfly's.
An entertaining dinosaur show for the kids.
As two twenty-somethings on a roadtrip this was a delightfully unexpected stop. It’s a big dated but everywhere you look is something interesting and fun!
We were just in time for the dinosaur show and actually learned a few things as well as laughing A LOT. The butterfly enclosure was small, as others said, but it’s so clearly been created with love. There is magic in this place - solely because the owner has cultivated it.
The staff (I wonder if the woman who greeted us was the owner?) were so warm and helpful. They clearly love the place. Definitely stop here and pay the $20 to be surprised and delighted.
We just loved it!
Nice small garden to learn and interactive with nature and butterflies. Extra maze and dinosaur trail. Thank you
I arrived at the gift shop 5 minutes before closing today to buy something for my daughter, and was warmly greeted by the staff who were very helpful and informative. The gift shop is phenomenal, the dinosaurs, cafe, maze and butterfly gardens are epic, and the owners are wonderful people. They also offer great deals on annual passes for locals. A real treasure on the Coffs Coast. Must see!
The most magical place with the friendliest staff ever, definitely worth a visit and a great way to break up a long drive!
Great experience.took my grandson and he loved it.surprises in every garden. Truly a magical place for the young ones?
Excellent butterfly display, and knowledge of the staff. A bit pricey for what you get but super worth it specially if you have kids.
Well done to the team for modernising the venue and adding the dinosaur exhibition in an attempt to provide more interest to visitors.
I found the maze, whilst interesting, was just lacking some detail that could make it more adventurous for children, so much has been done in the car park area, the cafe and dinosaur area that this seemed a little lacklustre (as mentioned there are currently renovations underway.
When comparing this particular park (house) to the one in Cairns for the same price I felt as though this is more expensive. The one in Cairns is about 40% larger and the team are more interactive so not sure why this is the same price.
Lastly the young woman at the front desk had very little interest in being there, and while she was following the processes the experience had in terms of COVID safe precautions, this is no reason to sound like you have just woken up or want to be somewhere else.
We dragged this out into an hour long experience when it could have easily been a 10 minute walk.
Well done also to the guy with the dinosaur puppet on his hand in the car park. That job looks dreadfully boring but he did really well to be inviting, informative and engaging.
Amazing place with a lot of potential! There were hundreds of ppl there today. After spending 30 mins in line in the hot sun, we get to the counter, go thru to the butterfly house that was literally cramned pack of humans, couldn't stop for a second to capture the moment as it was time to move along for the 100s of ppl behind us. Just awful! I understand we aren't the only ones in the world here to see them. But a bit of time management could have prevented us all in there together, broken up into groups, bookings of 10 for 10mins made at a time even! Mud was everywhere, cars sliding sideways down the hill, we were all covered in mud, again, completely out of their control, but some forwarning woulda been great, so we coulda worn appropriate shoes and clothes. Dinosaur show was awesome fun! But don't go on a hot day as the seats are in the sunlight and very hot for the 10min show. I hope to go back on a cooler day when there's been less rain and try it all again
We spent a great morning there last weekend. Loved the butterflies, loved the dinosaur show.would reccommend this place to all. Great value. Very family friendly.
What a delightful place, perfect for the young and the young at heart!
I didn't venture inside the butterfly house as I was concerned that an insect might fly into my mouth, but the surrounding attractions provided plenty of fun and wonder
I spent hours exploring the sprawling, Victorian-inspired maze, before gasping in terror at the hyper-realistic dinosaurs. This place Tyrannosaurus 'Rocks'?
Only really saw 4 or 5 differant butterflies and walked through in afew mins but the maze and dinasours were GREAT - my son loved it and so did we. Was really good seeing such great prices in the little store there (I find most in-house shops expensive) was able to spend 20 bucks and get 4 toys and 2 magnets. As RFS member you get in free - that's was nice for my husband.
I expected the Butterfly House to be bigger or at least with more variety of butterflies. Just to look at the butterflies, $20 entrance fee not worth it. The place had other activities available but mostly for kids.
