I walked in to see my GP which he is a very lovely Dr.the reception said he wasn’t available so I said any other doctor is fine. They said well there’s a lot of people waiting in line so you have to come back in 3 hours. I left and returned only to be told the doctor is not seeing anyone right now and you have to come back in an hour and a half. There isn’t much structure happening here

Doctors are lovely however Rachael on reception is the rudest person I have ever encountered at a medical practice. I have not been there once and not witnessed her being incredibly rude to most patients she serves.

Unprofessional. We went their for our medical. The lady (fat women) on pathology lab took my blood sample and that was my worst experience. Blood was all over my hand and in pants as well. She used 18 guage syringe for my blood sample. Idk why she used that thick needle and she didnt even do it properly, used that needle twice to took my sample. Worst experience

Came for an emergency appointment for daughter.got told 2.5hrs, i said thats fine.but it ended up being well over 4hrs, close to 5hrs actually. Never got told the Dr was going to eat and wouldn't be back for nearly an hour.why they couldn't let me know and i would have gone home and come back up. The reception staff dont communicate anything. And if you are Aussie, well i swear they are kinda racist.would rather go to the John Hunter and that is saying something. If you can avoid this place at all cost, i would.

Had my Visa Medical Exam there and was glad how smoothly everything happened. I was out in 1.5 hours.

My wife and children had two appointments booked back to back at Charlestown Medical & Dental Centre with Dr Louise Acland. The Doctor was rude and abrasive and wrapped up both appointments combined in under 5 min, stating she didn't have time for them and offering no advice and not even taking at look at my second child. I realise that the current health situation is stressful and medical professionals are run off their feet, however, it doesn't take much to talk to a patient in a kind manner and actually listen to their situation. My children left asking why the Dr was so mad at them and the entire experience was extremely negative. I suggest if you are looking for a Dr, look elsewhere.

I really hate to do this but here goes anyway, doctors that are no more then script writers (one doctor even googling my symptoms when told) one amazing doctor here. Jacob duvenaje. Unfortunately, one star does not make a galaxy.tried to make an appointment, not able to for 2 weeks and told twice when trying to walk in I would not be seen when presenting with potentially life threatening symptoms, then I calmly said they were hopeless now only to be berated by staff behind the counter for abusing them sheesh

Not even worth a star…have been on hold 45 mins plus x 3 today.nobody answering ph.nothing on phone to say they are CLOSED! Omg…first call made at 1030AM they were open…nobody answers ever!

•••I love my doctor at the clinic•••

However I am very disappointed every time I ring to make an appointment. The receptionist are always very rude and quiet short with you on the phone. 9 times put of 10 you are ringing because you are unwell in some way and need to see a doctor as soon as possible. These women have no compassion and no empathy. They are quiet empty and blunt and short handed on the phone, this is the last thing anyone wants to deal with when ringing up sick/unwell. Maybe they need a lesson in customer service, because they lack whatever warmth is needed in comforting people when they are in some form of vulnerability.

I have gone to Charlestown Medical and Dental for over 4 years now, however I've noticed their standard for care of clients has gone down over the past couple of years. Today I called to book an appointment to get a script for my medication, appointments normally take approximately 5mins as I'm in and out, however the receptionist just brushed me away and said there's no bookings at the moment then hung up on me while I was still talking. I had to call back to see if they had a walk in doctor today or see if I can book a telehealth conference, she abruptly said no and hung up on me again.the service from her, and other receptionists in the past has left a negative experience for myself and I will not be going back to this centre again.

With what I understand, this is a very common experience with other clients and management of this centre should be ashamed of themselves for allowing such behaviour to occur with their staff

Disappointing
I booked appointment for some tests
They called me that your appointment got canceled
They let me know when Im already on the way
I waited almost 3 weeks to get appointment
They waste my time

Left this practice feeling worse than when I walked in. Dr Brookes was unhelpful, didn't listen and made me feel helpless with no alternative solution or recommendation provided.

Had an appointment at 11: 10, I was there at 11: 05 and checked in with reception. At 11: 45 I asked reception what the reason for the delay was and was told that Dr Roy had incorrectly marked me as having been seen already.

I waited until 12: 00 when I was finally called by Dr Roy who mispronounced my name. She then tried to blame it on me claiming that she had called me at 11: 15 and somebody else answered and she saw them instead. I explained to her that it was because she clearly mispronounced my name as she had just done moments before.

Honestly, Dr Roy is an embarrassment to Charlestown Medical center.

Reception staff however were lovely.

Failed to inform a 26 yr old they tested positive for cancer for 6 weeks after receiving results.

Disappointing experience. I wanted to try this place as a new go-to for a GP but although I booked only to get a couple of blood tests ordered, I ended up waiting in an INCREDIBLY crowded waiting room for 50 minutes before I had to eventually cancel my appointment since I had other places to be.

I don't mind waiting a little bit but when I arrived I wasn't told it'd be a longer than usual wait. Their website even advises you to book online to avoid long waiting times.which I did. The centre appeared incredibly short staffed and incredibly over-booked considering there were about 30+ people in that waiting room by the time I left.

Won't be coming back, won't recommend and will look elsewhere.

Very rude staff at the front desk specially an old lady working out there, we were struggling to get our medical in any condition for our visa. Wherever we booked it cancelled and my husband found one hospital at Newcastle which is this and he phone booked and they provide the date and time and I cancelled my work and decided to travel 4 hours and half from Nowra and we checked the email as well if that cancelled but not and we headed for our 10: 15am appointment at 5: 30am from here, after we reached there the staff member said your appointment has cancelled and one of the old lady came out and she said it’s cancelled and we have sent you the message and there is no sms at our phone. And the matter was they sent to the wrong number and the lady was yelling to us that we have provided a wrong number. So rudely, Seriously? We had booked from phon and how can we provided our own number wrong which she had repeated thrice the number. I was wondering why they took our email if they have to sent the message through the number. We really disappointed from their service and never ever recommend any of my friends and relatives there again. POOR SERVICE.
