CENTURY 21 Dixon reviews
63Reception was incredibly rude and dismissive. Would not recommend this business to anyone in the area looking for real estate services.
AVOID THIS AGENT! I would give a negative rating if that’s an option. They never respond to emails and even though it’s their problem they always blame you first. Zero customer service and no civilisation and common sense at all!
Whoever was on the phone on 02.11.2020 is the most unprofessional and rude customer service I have ever deal with.
Tried to explain I had an emergency and in response was spoken rude to and yelled at without being able to say a word as was getting constantly interrupted
I have had a great experience with Murray and the girls at reception. I am a tenant, and would like to thank the team for going out of their way on more than one occasion to help me out.
As a tenant, with previous agencies in the past, I have found it quite difficult to get things repaired. However, Murray and his team have been quick and more than reasonable with any requests I have made (and there have been a few!)
Renting through century 21 Dixon has been so easy and always fair- they deserve more good reviews from happy tenants too!
HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE!
We had sent an email to them on Sep 16th 2020 to reschedule the replacement of smoke alarms to a day after (which was scheduled to be on Tuesday, 29 September 2020 from 7.00am to 3.30pm), but we heard back from them only on 28th Sep 2020, because they were busy!
Ary asked me to reach out to Alldis & Cox for the same (it took 12 long days for her to tell us that, and she chose to tell us a day before so that we don't have bandwidth to reschedule even if we want to). And her excuse was that she was busy!
We are busy too, and that is exactly why we had requested a reschedule, (but that clearly is not important for them), but we are not going to wait for 12 long days to call Alldis & Cox, because that is NOT our work ethic!
Dealing with them has been really difficult, they don't get back to us on time, and leave us in a pickle every time!
And on top of that they try to put it on us and divert the real issue, by saying that smoke alarms replacement is required by law and we shouldn't oppose it, although they know it pretty well that we are not opposing the work, we are only requesting a reschedule, and rescheduling is NOT PROHIBITED by law!
While, generally, most of the people working there are absolutely fine, the principal Murray Howe is probably the worst professional I've met out of any field I ever came across.
Whether you are an owner or someone looking for a place to rent - there are most definitely better options out there.
Also, look at all those 5 star reviews which all have exactly the same writing style and come from the accounts that have never reviewed anything else before. Makes you think.
I rented a unit through Dixon for 6 years and can't fault them. Any issues that needed fixing I would usually have someone out the same or the next day, got my bond back the day after I moved out. Always super quick at handling issues.
Would definitely recommend.
I would give this agency a negative star rating if I could. After being a tenant for 1 year, I can confidently say they are the most unprofessional agency I have ever dealt with. Renting a house in Sydney in 2020 shouldn’t be the same experience as dealing with the mafia in the 1900’s. If you actually want to be a successful business, I suggest you first start by learning how to be normal civilised people. Instead of intimidating and threatening your clients, try listening and actually doing your job.
Here are my reasons why:
1. Agent never responds to emails. Chooses to call at random times (outside of work hours) and then blatantly lies to your face saying he never received the email or text you sent, even though it’s in writing and he clearly has, as the receptionist has replied.
2. After multiple requests over 6 months to get the broken fly screens fixed and whether the owner would give us permission to install ceiling fans at our own cost, I find out agent hasn’t even bothered to ask the owner or check any of my emails.
3. Upon ending our tenancy agreement, and notifying the agency about our intention to leave, we get a call from the agent who wants a photographer to come in the house to take photos. Citing my tenant rights, I refuse and ask him to wait until we move out, as I don’t want my belongings in photos and the fact that we are in a covid lockdown makes it unsafe for strangers to come over. I then get an unsolicited rude call from the photographer himself bullying me and trying to force me to let him take photos.
4. After tenancy completion day I returned all the keys, cleaned the house, paid off any outstanding rent and confirmed no damages present. Then as my bond is on RBO, lodged a request for return. As soon as I did this, I get another unsolicited call from the agency telling me “they are not happy with what I did” and that they will “see to it that I get taken to the tribunal” and then started shouting on the phone telling me to “shut up and listen”when I was asking them to calmly discuss the matter like an adult. Once the screaming rant was over I tried to say “please don’t be so rude, I’m happy to discuss if you have any issues with the state of the house”, to which they chose to threaten me again and hang up.
Judging by reading the other reviews, thank god we got out before they could actually scam us.
My recent experience with Century 21 Dixon was great. The staff were super friendly, very responsive to all of my requests for both information and private inspections, and all interactions were dealt with very professionally. A big call out to Andrew and Georgia, who made my whole experience in dealing with Century 21 Dixon a very positive one, from start to finish. Thanks again.
Excellent service from Andrew Duigan and Murray Howe when selling our unit in Kingsford. They kept us well informed throughout the process, took great photos, acted on everything in a timely manner and got us a great price in a difficult covid environment. They even made sure settlement happened quickly by attending the conveyancer’s office in the city. Most importantly, they are very honest and haven’t tried to get us in with empty promises. They have also managed the leasing of our unit for many years and have given us excellent service. Thanks team!
Very bad experience with the principal Murray Howe. After deciding not to go ahead with a lease, Murray thought it was appropriate to call me all kinds of names and act utterly unprofessional. I had to get Fair Trading involved after he and the rest of the team didn't respond to my requests to have the holding deposit returned. Fair trading was finally able to help us come to an agreement after 2+ months.
Murray manages the office that I rent and has always been incredibly helpful and quick to respond to any queries or issues I’ve had. Recently I reached out to Murray with an issue and he spoke to me straight away with such respect and understanding and helped me with a resolution. I would definitely recommend Century 21 Dixon to friends and family.
These people are absolutely terrible! First they were called Sydney residential, then from all the bad reviews and complaints changed to dixon real estate, and now Century 21 dixon! Stay far away from these people, they will be nice to you until the contract is signed and money is collected, then they let their true colours shine.
Amanda White, Murray Howe and Ashleigh Howe are scam artists, and as I just found out, are all very well known by government authorities for fraud and unfair criminal acts. If you were one of the unlucky ones that signed with them, get out of the contract ASAP and report them to fair trading when they refuse to return your bond, like they do to all their clients.
To the low century 21 Dixon HR person, don’t bother replying to or sugar coating this review, no one believes you or the fake 5 star reviews.
Have a great day!
I have absolutely no hesitation in recomending Murray or Andrew at Century 21 Dixon. It has been my pleasure to deal with Murray, firstly with the renting and leasing of our property and then working with Andrew for the subsequent sale. Over the years that our association has lasted we have come to expect nothing but 5 star service. Both Murray and Andrew work to impecible standards and their integrity is unsurpassed. We owe a debt of gratitude to Murray and Andrew and the staff at Century 21 Dixon for handling our estate with a standard of proffessionalism that is difficullt to find in todays environment
As a renter Avoid at all costs. Despite attempting to distance themselves from previous vicious agents Ashley Howe, and Amanda. They are very much disinterested in providing quality service. As a tenant for over 5 years they irregularly would raise the rent. I needed to threaten them by involving fair trade to lower the rent for my last year. Having met hardship during this pandemic they refused to show compassion with my situation. Despite being a good tenant never missing a payment they remained adamant on my needing to pay full break bond and cleaning fees while losing the evidence of my bond. I’m not expecting to get my bond back as they clearly only care about exploiting and making a quick profit from weakness. If you’re an immigrant or expat go to another real estate agent on Anzac parade.
I'm tenant and renting an unit from this agent. I live in the same place for over 5 years now and my property manager has never done periodic inspection. I'm ok with that as I'm just tenant but it's such terrible service. This property manager uses cheappy tradies who are not even qualified. He never seem to understand what quality service and customer services is.
Please be aware that they might hold your bond and deduct or even not return your bond money, they will send your over fake cleaning invoices which will cost you a lot of money, please dont be afraid and apply for fair trading or NCAT against them. For them it is standard procedure to keep the bonds.
P. S no wonder why they keep changing their company name
Long Standing Dedicated Customer Service in the Management of my Property. A family owned successful family business that is nowadays rare to see. Thank you Murray for your many years of valued commitment to serving your clients.
Rude real estate agent. At an inspection were about 20 people show up, he's ignoring the possible future tenants and not available for question, as he's discussing the plans for the property with the owner in the meantime.
Had a hard time getting bond back, took several months but was finally sorted. I was lucky to speak with a Georgia Jones eventually who looked into promptly.
