Capitol Theatre reviews
72 I am a musical theatre person and when it comes to the capital theatre, it hosts some world class productions.
I have not yet seen a production at the Capital Theatre which has disappointed. Sound quality and production of theatre at the Capital is next to none within Sydney.
Venue food and beverage can put you back a little, but they offer a descent selection.
Most views are unobstructed, however even views in the stalls from the side can leave you not seeing the edges of the stage. This is only a problem with a production that uses the whole stage.
Woman’s bathroom is normally very busy with a large line.
Saw Frozen the musical - excellent by the way! Polite Staff, very helpful with directions and instructions. Premises were clean and comfortable seats.
Took my daughter to the Capitol Theatre to watch Frozen the musical.
Amazing show and place.
We loved it!
Seen many shows here. Any seat is perfect in this theatre. All staff are amazing. The theatre is beautiful and hosts amazing world class productions. Will always come back
So many stairs and steep and deep not a good place for the elderly.
But we loved it beautiful inside and out.
The Capitol theater is a beautiful old theatre where we went to see charlie and the chocolate theatre.
Really like coming here. Usually shows high quality productions and I liked the theatre. However candy bar is average as popcorn is stale
Paid a fortune for seats that were so old they were painfull to sit in, spirits were lacking alcohol, came out underwhelmed and ripped off
Welcoming staff and the theater itself is lovely. However a lack of seating in the foyer area is quite inconvenient.
The understated, simple exterior is very, very deceptive. When one walks in, they are greeted with a sumptuous Art Deco theatre which is an acoustic treat. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and cloaking is never a hassle.
Wow! I've seen a bunch of shows there and it never ceases to amaze me. I'll be back for the next one ;-)
Capitol Theatre is a Wonderful venue. Went to see the Jersey Boys (what a show) nothing like Nostalgia.and dinner at the nearby Palace Hotel.
A grand lady. What a stunning building. The staff are very attentive & helpful. There are NO pillars & posts to interupt one's view. I saw The Jersy Boys. It is a very clever musical, the story line is very well put together & the props are smart. The cast are multi talented, the costumes & outfits were perfect. The stage was filled with wonderfully talented cast. I loved this show.
Saw the Jersey Boys at this theatre in one of its final weeks in Sydney, the show was excellent but the usher staff were truly fantastic. My brother has parkinsons and was quite ill and staff member, Lachlan, went above and beyond to help (and not just because he is tall). He made sure we were comfortable and happy and was delightful while doing it. Another staff member Emma, was very friendly and made delightful conversation.
Beautiful old building you can almost imagine what it was like when everyone Dressed to go out. Just watch the parking sign in the areacan be very misleading.
A wonderful venue for musical theatre. "The Jersey Boys" was excellent, very talented singers and musicians. The show was spoilt by too much swearing. Completely unnecessary.
Had a fabulous night watching the Jersey Boys the Staff were friendly and helpful, very clean, comfortable seating
Exquisite venue. I love the comfy seats, friendly service, spacious theatre, great location and beautiful architecture.
The Capitol Theatre is a classic theatre in the middle of the city. The architecture is amazing, with beautifully designed foyer and internal area.
There is a reasonable amount of parking, however you need to ensure you'll arrive at least 45 minutes early, in case you need to park at Goulburn Street car park.
Plenty of places to eat, so don't panic if your show finishes a bit late!
