Cape Hawke lookout reviews
62A pleasant hike up the track, a few stairs of the tower, an there it is.the most awesome view of forster/Tuncurry coast an towns.shame the trees have grown up.but still worth the trip.
One of our fav spots when in Forster. It’s a nice little hike up to the top with beautiful views of Forster. Definitely take mosquito repellent, sunscreen & lots of water!
Just wish you were able to see the lake side. Would be nice if they built it up one more level!
After a challenging 20 minutes walk, you climb up a bit more for a nice view.
Go at sunset for a light spectacle.
It's a perfect lookout, however you need to be fairly fit as there are quite a few steps to get there as well as 4 flights up to the vantage point itself. Worth it for the views.
Great lookout. But quite steep to get to the top difinatly need to be fit. Lots of steps.
Recommended take water and spray for mosquito's before you head up. Brilliant view when you do make it.
Cool little trail with a fantastic lookout. Don't forget the mosquito repellent because they are rampant.
Really awesome view. 10/15 mins up hill stair walk but steep but there are couple of sits for rest.
Fantastic view over Foster-Tuncurry and Wallis Lakes. The walk up to the lookout is not too bad and is stepped
Must be able to walk a steep track from top car turnabout to access the lookout as both older view points have bush totally obscuring view these days
Well worth the climb to to the top for lovely the lovely views of the area surrounding Forster.
A great lookout and hike. It’s not too long and they have seats every few minutes on the hike up. The views once there are great. Best part is the walk back is all downhill.
An okay lookout, wish the trees were trimmed down a little bit for a better view. But it is what it is.
A steep hike up to a rewarding lookout tower. Seats are available every few bends up to rest and recover. Spray yourself with some insect repellent as the mosquito population will eat you alive.
Quite easy path walking up to the tower but there is not much up there as the trees. You can literally see the ocean and a stunning view of the valley though.
One of our things to do when we’re in Forster. Having an expectation for the nice view from the lookout, I was a bit disappointed. It’s a kind of bush walk but all on staircases, roughly 386 and another 47 steps up the tower. If you have knee problems like me, you have to take this into account. The view from the lookout is just ok as the trees blocking part of it.
Has survived all the rain, steps need a bit of TLC, and Tower was closed supposedly storm damaged but no signs of damage
Take a bottle of water. And some aero guard. Lots of mozzies! Beautiful view makes it worthwhile.
Steep climb up for those that aren’t very fit but not totally out the question. Lookout point was small but nice. Worth it for a one time visit, probably wouldn’t go a second time.
A pleasant but steep climb to top of lookout. Walking through bush. Wear sturdy walking shoes. Allow yourself 10 min one way. Not a long walk. Gorgeous views at the top.
