Broken Hill Visitor Information Centre reviews
62A very welcoming centre very clean many souvenirs clean amenities great staff & a Cafe all with easy parking
Such helpful place. You can ask for road conditions, where to stay, what to see and lovely people of the visitor center will guide you. Felt so comfortable and heard when asking questions. You can get maps, guides or gifts.
Easy to get to frim wherever you stay in town. We found Chris exceptional with knowledge of various areas, not just Broken Hill. He was very helpful and a great pleasant welcoming manner.
Very impressed. Highly recommend
It was closed when we went there but all the information was put in a zip lock back and left in front of the door. It was so convenient, I thought it was so thoughtful of them. There was a cafe there too. Parking is ample
They have poisoned every animal within 500 K of this place. There’s nothing to see, you might as well skip this whole area… All the small animals are gone, the only animals you will see are goats, the ones we can sell to Saudi Arabia.
Friendly and helpful staff. WIFI available for 30 minutes. Joined to a coffee shop.
Take the guided city tour. The mining history of Broken Hill is very interesting.
Friendly and helpful staff who went out of their way to check on road conditions and give valuable advice before we set off to Mutawintji, Menindee and Mungo. Big thank you to all staff as we visited a number of times with various questions.
Thank you, Broken Hill Information Centre. It's one of the best l've been, too.
I like the "what's on" notice board for travellers like me. They have a FREE daily 10am Heritage walk ($ donation to volunteer guide appreciated) Mon - Fri. 2hr walk. The board tells you about markets, gigs, and activities.
The Gloria Jean's coffee shop attached is pretty good too.
You can park your c'van/motor home across the road, dump point and fill water tanks. Fabulous town set up for travellers.
Nice and presentable building, and is equipped well enough to provide all the information you need. If you're lucky you might get to talk to someone who is happy to help, unlike the staff member we encountered.
Fantastic, Fun, Central, well heated, well air-conditioned. Major Chain Coffee and Tucker. Great parking for attached Vans and loaded vehicles. Proximity Electric Vehicle Charging, outdoor seating and relaxing grassed park with views of Train Museum. Great first stop to the Far West.
Very helpful with extensive knowledge of city, surrounds and nearby regional attractions. Very organised crew with a great attitude.
Perfect service from Belinda. A credit to the Council and the Hill.
May want to consider selling a few different souvenirs (I.e. Metal ants, roos, emus).
Not many I drop into, buthis1 well organised, knowledgeable staff, parking 4big rigs, Cafe, welcoming sight
Great place to start your tourist experience in Broken Hill, the staff were great and there was heaps of information.
Got some great advice on some significant sites about the mining history that the tourist advisor marked on a tourist map that we would have otherwise missed due to poor signage.
Pity Broken Hill could not note any milestones of the Wiljakali people. They were here for 50000 years before Europeans and only got one entry on the Broken Hill timeline! Makes me think BHP did the timeline and this is all about reaping minerals from the earth and getting rich.
Chris, was excellent. He gave us very specific information was curious as to what we were interested in and has a wealth of knowledge about the area.
Thank you Corey for welcoming us to Broken Hill. We got information and maps from the Centre and enjoyed both our visits. We joined a Broken Hill City walking tour with Ray which was not only informative and interesting but it gave an insight into the establishment of BHP, the union movement and told about the fascinating history of the city.
Very friendly helpful staff. Gave us heaps of info on things to see and do. Could bring our little dog inside to have a look around. Also has little souvenirs and a Gloria Jeans coffee inside the same building where you can sit an mill through all the info given. If you have a pooch you can sit outside to have your coffee.
