Bombini / Shady Palms reviews
80Fairly bland overall. The beef short rib lacked seasoning, polenta was flavorless and the gnocchi was doughy in the middle. So just an average dining experience with an above average price tag.
Great service great food even put a birthday candle in our dessert for a birthday. #go the extra mile
Wouldnt go back. Pasta was raw and cold.ate it because i was hungry and left half on the plate.also didnt want to make the Mrs wait to eat/make her food go cold. Still paid and was asked by the waiter what i think i should pay because i ate "half my substantial meal" like i was being cheap. Wine was overpriced too. We are big on restaurants and this was a fail.
Slow service, staff overstretched, very pricey, particularly expensive birthday cakes, booked well In advance to request quiet table as we had two young children with us. But on the day we were given a table in a high traffic area. Gave our feedback on the night but staff not really interested.
Service was excellent, how ever portion size was small for what they charged. Very over priced, and fly's everywhere. I can get a lot more in a five star restaurant in the city for the same money. Not coming back, much better restaurants elsewhere.
Very friendly staff, with the correct amount of casualness. Always complimentary bread, cheese or salad. Very tasty food. Definitely one of the best Italian restaurants in the Central Coast area.
Very disappointing food and service. There was a noticeable decline in standard across the board. ‘Cutting costs’ was clearly evident
Not too sure about what we witnessed today
After what was a nice but very over priced lunch we went for a stroll around the property. What we witnessed next was bordering on gross
There was 2 trays of tomatoes lying out in the sun (so what you may say) the trays of tomatoes were absolutely covered in flies, the guy at the pizza counter seen us look and said “ oh yea this is how we do our sun dried tomatoes for the pizza “ guess we won’t be eating there again. Such a pity because the service was fantastic and the property is stunning
Bombini is a superb destination restaurant in the Avoca area. It helps if you are staying locally and get transport because you want to take advantage of their fine grog. This is a long lunch venue, a place to stay for 4+ hours with friends slow dining and taking in the wonderful tropical surrounds. For dinner I would lean more towards the vibe of the pizza bar but the food is awe inspiring wherever you are in the Bombini Homestead.
Good food and service in an excellent environment. The outdoor dining was great and relaxing. Thanks for a great evening.
Nice food, restaurant was way too hot & took away desire to relax and dine. Prices are excessive for quality of dishes
No outside cake allowed, very disappointed as this would have been great to know when booking online. We booked a table for a friends birthday. When we got there we were told we weren't allowed to bring our beautiful cake in. Space was pretty tiny, and while food was good, the parking was TERRIBLE! Get there early to avoid parking on the 70k busy road.
The ambience of Bombini is one to experience, however the pizzas are to die for.just kidding they are divine
Fantastic food, beautiful atmosphere and excellent service. Will definitely visit again on my next trip to the Central Coast.
I felt like I was in Bali! Great food and service. Where are the Aussi wines? Wine over priced and very small glass servings. Otherwise highly recommended.
Loved the food and the atmosphere. Its a very nice place wish it was closer to Sydney. Would have loved to try the pizza.
Ate woodfire pizza at the bar area and it was great. While quite pricey, the food is excellent. Really nice atmosphere and friendly staff.
Overpriced and the food isn't that great. The bread with the ricotta that they bring out was good though.
We ate at the pizza place. The wood fired pizzas were the best we've eaten so far in Sydney! Had the salsiccia, gambero and liked them so much we finished off with a calzone. The chilli oil had a good kick to it too. Lovely beach / tropical chilled out vibe. Will be back again! The cucumber spritz was also refreshing.
Two seperate restaurants at bombinos, don't be jipped if you think you're booking the pizza place and end up in the fancy side which was actually lovely but then charges you $36 for 15 pieces of super oily gnocchi:/
The 'side salad' is literally a small plate of leaves.
We would have been stoked if we were given the table we asked for and we're able to ordered the pizzas we thought we would be able to.
Double check when booking a table which side of the restaurant you're booking.
