It's ridiculous that the store is opened to sell lollies and chocolate but not for essential footwear for work

Our workplace wanted to get some balloons for a staff member who is leaving as a part of a farewell gift. The balloons were selected and upon approaching the service counter there was no staff member present. After asking at another service counter for someone to blow up TWO balloons, a staff member was finally found 5 minutes later only to tell us that she would be unable to blow up TWO balloons as it was too close to them closing (10 minutes) and that the only option would be to hire a tank to blow them up ourselves. This is absolutely disgraceful and disappointing service, it does not take more than 10 minutes to blow 2 balloons. This has really left for a disappointing experience and we will not be returning to this store.

Excellent fast service and very close to where I live, plenty of parking and disability parking.

Absolutely friendly staff who are happy to always help out when you’re looking for a product. Especially Kim and Jess. Thanks for a great shopping experience every time.

Just bought 70 inch TV from here, great specials on TV's, and 10% discount if staff member from woollies.

Staff were nice and plenty of products stocked. Was a small problem at the registers which took a few minutes but other than that Big W Jesmond was great.

Store is fabulous, so much more in this store compared to others. Found check out service of young girl rude and dismissive.

Was looking for a new toaster that has wide slots for crumpets and muffins.
Sadly couldn't find any.
They still had a wide range. Just none met my needs.

Great place to shop. But just cause you do after pay don't mean U charge more then most other places. Rip offs

Many stationaries, Even better than Kmart
For Example: Although a Stapler was $3-6 in Kmart and at there (the BIGW) I can got that the one which one over $10's stapler too
But "NOTHING COMES EASY"
The expensive one may good as the cheapest.
So that's why I decided there.

Got everything I wanted to buy. So happy with the stock availability. Employees are nice as well.

Awful second time awful experience in that shop. Will never shop there again. Refused returns saying it was on clearance and yet when I bought the item nobody said no returns for clearance items. What a joke, deception and day light robbery. Fair Trading here I come. I wish I could rate the store a 0 because it deserves it.

Lucky there isn't a 0 star rating. Tried returning a 65 inch tv due to stuck pixels after only 3 months. The manager would not return my item because it was bought at another big W even though I was told it could be returned to my local store. Jesmond big W would only take it and have it sent away for repair. Instead drove to the Newcastle store and item was returned with full refund in 5 minutes. Jesmond big W will not be recommended to anyone I know and after looking at other reviews I can see this is a common issue with returns at this store.

Worst service got a bag that clearly said $99 save 30 now $69 got to the checkout scanned at $99 I told the lady she said she will check walks over to the service desk stays for around 3 minutes then comes back and says can you wait I can't check it right now theres a line. Well hang on you could have walked there in the time you just wasted at the service counter so let me put my day on hold because people there can't do their job properly and yes if the prices do not match it stands to reason somebody had not done it right

Instore the staff seem friendly and helpful, but rang up looking for items instock, lady on phone seemed like it was a hassle, then said they had the items, when i arrived it wasn't what i was looking for at all

There is a woman who works there who just gave me an attitude just because I asked for an diary notebook. Not a good way to treat a customer.

Ilvery large store. The pricing can be a little expensive especially when it's a big double ewe

Lock up your car, it's a freak show at jesmond. Big w was very empty the day I visited and still no staff offered to help me. It's a multi cultural shopping centre.expect to feel you have left Australia.

Bad was overcharged. Then told to go to Service section at rear of store where there was a line up of people. Close the store's hopefully better stores will open
