Brought a bin that did not work to be returned.
This was my first time coming here to return something.
Walked in the store expecting to be greeted by someone at the entrance- no one was there. I did not know where the service desk was, so I walked to the lady next to the self checkout and asked where the service desk was. She pointed to where it was but then in a blaming tone said that I should have first talked to the person at the entrance. When I said there was no one - (by now the person who ‘should have been’ there was there. Actually I saw him walking from inside the store while I was walking towards the self checkout.) - she raised her head and saw the man who should have stood there and told me in a sarcastic way “he hasn’t moved from there”- which means you are ‘lying’
I walked to this person and told him I wanted to return it. He also said “you ‘should’ have come to me first”.
When I told him he was not there he blatantly refused and said “I would have been somewhere here”. Again indirectly saying that I was ‘lying’.
Finally I made my way to the service desk.
After waiting there for quite some time, the lady who talked to the girl who was ahead of me very kindly referring to her as ‘darling’ bluntly asks me “what can I do for you? ”

Does this mean this store is full of racist people - they plainly think that if you are not ‘white’ then you are a ‘thief’ or ‘a liar’?
I wanted to make a complaint to the manager- but then thought what if he/she is the same and would only make matters worse.

A nice big store, but never enough stock to fill it, so appears forever empty. Staff are nearly non-existent, at most times there's not even a single staff member on checkouts, so you're stuck using self service. Staff are generally quite rude and unhelpful. The stock is good though, and unlike Kmart, the clothes actually last more than 1 wash! Good as a source for most general supplies, much better than Kmart, and better priced and quality than Kmart. Good for stock quality and price, bad for everything else.

Annie and Lyette were wonderful in helping me today (fixed a slight issue I had with everyday rewards)

Definitely earnt a repeat customer.
Will make sure to shop at this big w in particular in future.

How do you not have ONE cotton long sleeve top for woman in the entirety of yr woman's clothing department, its the middle of winter. Well done Big W!

That service was fabulous.

I was after an item that was clearance. One phone call and they confirmed it was available and then they offered to hold if 24hrs for me.simply had to collect it from the service desk and now it's a part of my kitchen.

My second favourite shopping centre in Newcastle. It's a nice suburb with a lot of rich residents so there gorgeous trophy wives and mistresses are all over the place. It's not just a good place to shop of you know what I mean. I would recommend it to all. Prove me wrong.

Check receipts when not scanning own items! I was over charged $100. Then inconvenienced with a wait for nearly 2 hours while the service desk team tried to refund me the money they took from my credit card. Poor customer service, usually most visits.

Big W Jesmond is by far the best in Newcastle. Stock levels are always great and the staff are especially friendly.

A bit disappointed that I only got 1 disc out of 2 for Gran Turismo 7, which is $90 how can somebody stuff that up? Like generally question…
I ordered click and collet, i came in a got it. I didn’t check it because no one really does that, they would to focus on going home and downloading the game.
Now I have to go out my way, go to big w and explain that I didn’t get my my second disc.
It’s such a pain.
One of them is content, that’s the one I got. And the other one is the actual game.

Not too mention, but the workers there are so rude, I’ve never seen such bad customer service.
They are all so serious about their jobs. Like I get it, working is stressful. But you chose to work there.
Big W jesmond is in my local. So I really can’t go anywhere else. Please guys, just smile a bit more. And don’t be so rude on the phone:)

Click and collect experience was not too great. Some staff are very friendly but some are unapproachable

This definitely one the better stores. Staff are friendly and the store usually has things in stock.

Called in yesterday27/12 to exchange an item, the lady on the service desk was rude and obnoxious, she made my disabled partner jump through hoops before she could exchange an item, there was no customer service at all. Would kind of understand if we wanted a big refund but we only wanted to exchange for a more expensive item of the same type. The only reason we wanted to exchange was we went to buy a euro bed for a short family visit, when we noticed a similar item at 2/3 the price we thought that would do, after proceeding through the checkout we noticed that the price was not that as advertised on the shelf, when I mentioned this to the lady (trying to be polite) she told us someone must of moved the box, when I politely told her the whole shelf was stocked with this item she looked up at me and said naa before asking very rudely to my partner, ya got I'd. Yes, she asked "ya got id" not may I have some I'd. I would of taken this person's name but it looks like the staff don't wear an I'd badge any more, let alone a uniform, don't even start me on the young girl stocking shelves in a tank top, talk about inappropriate.
Well big w jesmond, I hope you get to read this and step back and have a look.
On a finishing note you have a lot of well dressed courteous staff who are kind and friendly, maybe get rid of no name and put one of them on the SERVICE desk.

Store manager today I think her name was Lyn was a bully to her security officer I felt so sorry for him when I seen this I took my layby out I won't be back again

Last week I was looking for a DVD set and a staff member in the digital section, Kate, came to my assistance. She searched the shelves, she looked out in the back store, she checked the computer and found what I wanted was at green hills Big W. She wrote all the details I needed and I was able to successfully obtain the DVD set. Big shout out to Kate for being so customer oriented. Thank you.

I’ve been trying to contact for the past 2 days to make payments on my Christmas lay buy. I got a text a couple of days ago to let me know we can make payments again. I’ve called 6 times today- no answer. 7 times yesterday- no answer. Are there regular staff on? Or are there less? How can a big store not answer phone calls when we can’t go in there? This is pathetic.

I recently made a purchase, click and collect, which was quick and efficient. Staff were welcoming and friendly.
