Berida Hotel reviews
78Amazing Hotel, wonderful/ delicious restaurant and a Gin bar to die for. Then after dinner we moved to the Whisky Bar well what an awesome experience. Highly recommend Berida Hotel, restaurant, Gin Bar & of course the delicious Whisky Room.
Great little hotel! Beautifully decorated, great amenities, nice character and really helpful staff. Located almost right in the centre of town and they have a day spa which my girlfriend really enjoyed. Room was a tad small but still very nice- would definitely recommend
Very happy with my selection of this hotel. It’s got cute bespoke vintage vibes. I loved all the cute lounges, chandeliers and paintings around the hotel. We stayed in a Deluxe King room. The room itself was quite nice too and very clean. We had 4 windows in our room but there isn’t much of a view. Comfy bedding and my absolute favourite thing was the old school vintage bath tub and chandelier in the bathroom. The walls need to be sound proofed because we had a screaming person next door on our last night which was quite annoying. I highly recommend having drinks at the whisky lounge. 5 star service from the nice man who looked after us at the whisky lounge. He makes very good whisky sours and was so entertaining to talk to. Also the new hotel manager was very pleasant too, always greeting us.
Service was ok, nothing special. Rooms were poor. Windows did not let in daylight, so room was very dark and doors did not close properly, had to slam them shut. Could also hear footsteps from rooms upstairs. Very disappointing for the reputation and price.
We love it here but our room was located opposite the whiskey bar so we had foot traffic from 5pm -11pm which was pretty noisy. A modest room overlooking the carpark just shy of $300 was a bit rich.
Otherwise the amenities are wonderful (pool, spa, sauna). Couldn’t get a booking in the restaurant so we can’t comment on that but the day spa was wonderful!
Had a brilliant last minute stay due to the severe weather. Was greeted warmly at reception (it was quite late in the evening!) with my two children in tow. The Berida has a lovely atmosphere, very friendly staff, incredible cocktails and bar snacks! It was very busy for a Tuesday night, and while staff seemed to be under the pump, they were friendly, efficient and service was still fast and with a smile. Nothing was too much trouble and it was such an enjoyable experience. Beautiful decor, friendly and accommodating service all round made it for a very pleasant stay and I highly recommend a visit when in the area. I will absolutely be back again.
The owners have done a fantastic job transforming this lovely old building. Our room was spacious with interesting old antique furniture and an impressive new ensuite.
We had a very nice meal in the restaurant and enjoyed the close proximity to Bowral.
A solid 4 star hotel with a gorgeous old worldly ambience inside and out. Reminds me of the Fawlty Towers. Loved the renovations, the wallpaper, the chandeliers etc really were beautiful. There’s no lift so we did have to carry out luggage up one flight of stairs and the room doors were heavy so we could hear everytime our neighbours closed their door. The rooms themselves are a little small for the price and at $400 per night we did expect a little more space but overall still a very decent stay in Bowral.
Restaurant serves great dinners, breakfast was boring and overpriced: suggest they drop the smoke salmon, drop the price and change the selection. Old world charm there was plenty, but that includes wobbly hallway floor boards which reverberated into room. Not suggested for long stays. Plenty of fine amenities which are under utilised.
Exceeded expectations by a wide margin. A very nice place for a drink. The dining room is also most pleasant. The food was first class. So it's a triple winner, in my book.
We stayed here as it was close by to a wedding venue get also 5 minutes from Bowral. So stunning, very friendly staff, clean, spacious and we loved all the nooks and crannies you could escape too for a quiet moment. Will be back again.
We had a one night stay at this Beautiful Hotel, it has that old world charm, don't expect any mod cons go back in time and enjoy the beauty of the Berida Hotel and its history.
Wonderful hotel! Well appointed rooms. The large indoor pool, spa and sauna. The restaurant is fantastic too
Great staff, good food and drink options, good facilities. The tennis courts were not open during our stay which was a bit disappointing but overall this is stil a beautiful hotel.
Fantastic time spent there by family bridal party last week. Great food beautiful atmosphere and the building is just gorgeous. Great spot for a weekend away. Highly recommended.
So reliable, courteous and consistent through difficult times. A fine boutique hotel that continues to deliver great food and superb cocktails!
A superb boutique hotel.
Wonderful historic building beautifully decorated rooms. Divine dining along with a Gin Bar and Whiskey Lounge.
Well renovated in a very nice Art Deco style however it’s only 80% done, the bathrooms in room and the public ones in the lobby were old and dirty. The room was also much smaller than expected for a “king” room. Other comment would be you can only order whisky in the whisky bar/lounge but for anything else you have to walk to the other side of the hotel bistro to order and then walk back - pointless when they take the drinks to wherever you ask? Restaurant was nice too but limited options/quite expensive.
For a shabby chic winter getaway, Berida Hotel in Bowral has everything you need not to need a thing. With a restaurant, whisky bar, indoor heated pool and spa, you could admire the cold weather while remaining entirely warm inside the property. The interior is littered with cosy nooks to curl up with a book and a wee dram in front of a roaring fire. The rooms are renovated, bar for the bathrooms, which has stopped the room rates from rising too far. They’re clearly next on the agenda though, so get in quick if you want to wrap yourself in a fluffy bathrobe and slide between crisp white sheets for an inexpensive, fun winter getaway. My only negative was in upstairs rooms near the front stairwell, the creaking stairs and noisy neighbours entering and leaving woke me up. Otherwise I slept like a baby.
Charming hotel. Beautifully furnished. Restaurant served delicious food. Knowledgeable barman who helped us choose from the huge array of gin varieties. Thoroughly recommend.
