Had the set menu. Food was great, very tasty and came out quickly, and perfect quantity. Great service and great drinks. Would definitely recommend!

We did not have a great experience at Bang Bang in Byron Bay. Once we were seated no one came to get our drink or dinner order for 15 minutes. Once we had ordered a waiter came to the next table that we were seated next too and proceeded to use our table to put their wine and wine cooler to rest on while he waited on their table, he then came back later and slammed the drinks tray on our table to service this other table and promptly left it there all wet and just sitting at the edge of our table.
After we waited for a long time between entrée and main- 45 minutes to be exact all of our order then came out all cold. We ordered the coconut rice, wok fried green vegetables and ocean trout. We asked a waitress about the cold food and she took the wok fried greens back to the kitchen and returned in less than a minute so I assumed they were re heated in the microwave. We were then told that the ocean trout is a cool dish that comes out lukewarm, I don’t think I would order this at any restaurant knowing my cooked fish was going to be luke warm upon receipt. We then advised that our rice was cold and was told that this was a not hot dish either. I have eaten at many thai places and the rice always comes out hot no matter if its white rice or coconut rice…
I would not recommend this place to anyone visiting Byron, there are many other amazing places to eat such as Rae’s, The Balcony Bar, Harvest Restaurant and many others. I get that there is a certain vibe at Bang Bang but the service and food was not worth it at all. It was a waste of time and money for us.

Isobel took such great care of us she was very sweet. One of us has coeliac disease and she was very lovely and tried her best to provide gluten free options. The food and atmosphere was amazing 5 stars.

We did ‘The Big Bang’ banquet and we’re blown away! It was the perfect meal (come hungry) with great wine and cocktail options. Coming from Melbourne we love to try out great restaurants from across the country. Bang Bang is worth a trip to Byron!

Best dinner place at Byron bay. Lovely ambiance, excellent service and delicious food in good proportions. Plus a complimentary snack. Had a great time here.

I don’t review very often but this place was definitely review worthy. Amazing food absolutely everything I tried which was 8 different dishes were faultless, great atmosphere, the DJ in the background wasn’t too loud but great music, the vibe was great, this place is a must if your in Byron Bay. Service 10/10 out waitress April couldn’t be more accomodating. We will be back!

Amazing food and amazing service. Everything was unreal. Pork belly was to die for, one of the best things I’ve ever eaten.

We just enjoyed the most amazing dinner at Bang Bang. From the Miyagi Margi to start with, to the best sushimee I’ve ever had, then the most flavoursome Massamam ever, then that lime tart to finish. The service was perfect, the atmosphere was vibrant… seriously a must if you’re visiting Byron.

There's a reason you need to make a booking, this place is incredible!

Incredible food, incredible vibe!

We chose a couple of entrees, a couple of mains, noodles and rice! Was a heap of food and absolutely delicious! Oh and a couple of cocktails of course!

Would definitely go back on our next visit. Don't forget to book!

Magnificent! Our crew had a large range of dishes, all on point with flavour and arrival time to table. The cocktails were deliciously mouth watering and beautifully presented. We felt well looked after by the friendly staff, good vibes and energy in Bang Bang, will definitely be going back and highly recommend!

Absolutely phenomenal modern asian food! The pork belly melted in our mouths and the curry was so delicate and creamy, all share plates and on point for enjoying with a partner, friends or family with a love for this style of food. We enjoyed a table outside and the service was lovely. We will be back

The best dinner experience in Byron. We had a 9pm booking which was later than preferred but it gets busy and you need to book in advance. It was very busy, had a live DJ and great vibe to go with it. The service was great and we was well looked after by multiple staff. The food and Cocktails were excellent, even with a allergy taken into consideration we had lots of food. The Duck was the standout dish of the evening. Well done Bang Bang we look forward to next time!

Experienced dining here with a group of friends (8 in total). The food was probably the best Thai I have eaten, not greasy at all, was fresh and full of flavour. Having to have the set banquet because of the larger group and order anything else you wanted as additional was frustrating as it didn't fit everyones taste/anaphalactic allergies. I don't think it made the experience easy.
The decor was cool and there was live music (DJ) - also really cool but abit loud for 7pm and dinner time. The staff were amazing, personable, friendly and very attentive. Great for a quick chat too.
I would dine here again, set menu is annoying but being the restaurant is so busy I can understand why it is in place. Highly recommend.

Finally got to try Bang bang after hearing mostly positive reviews since it opened. Honestly for the amount of money that is charged for a main, i would expect a lot better. Prawn toast was ok but had better from cheap chinese takeaways in the UK, The Pad see Ew was so so sweet, the massaman curry was good, but again pretty sweet, ordered the dry red curry and it was bang average, i’ve honestly had tastier and more enjoyable currys from the supermarket. For somewhere that try’s to be fine dining i would expect a lot better. Also the waitress forgot to take my order twice when serving our table, would take my friends and then walk off! She was helpful though. The fried starters all looked great and the sashimi was tasty, probably a great place to go get a couple of dishes and a few cocktails, If you love sugar in your food, you’ll love it but if you want a great dinner and don’t like waiting for drinks. Try something else

Book well in advance, especially if you want to eat on Friday or Saturday. Although a little pricey (note surcharges on Sunday and public holidays), given the quality, taste and serving sizes, it actually isn't too bad value for money wise. We definitely over ordered, so be careful with how much you order

Cocktails: loved my call me later colada, and the floating market was a treat.

Smalls: salt and pepper tofu was firm and the topping and sauces worked well. The prawn toast was perfect in every way except they make the prawn into a past (I prefer actual prawn pieces)

Bigs: loved the chicken larb, very generous with the serve and amongst the best in Australia. The beef brisket massaman curry was excellent. Each component (potatoes, beef and sauce) were outstanding in their own right. The salted cucumbers were very refreshing.

Next time I think we will stick to two smalls, a big and a salad and see how we go.
