Love my new out door blinds. Gary who installed our 5 new blinds, did an outstanding job, very professional and new what he was doing, explained everything in lemans term and showed us exactly how to use them. This company and staff, I would highly recommend. You won't be disappointed.

Staff at AOL were helpful to ensure we obtained the outdoor blinds to meet our needs and budget. The Installers were professional, helpful and did a superb job. Delighted with the outcome, of creating an additional outdoor room protected from the weather and enhanced privacy.

I’m giving AOL 1 star solely on the communications I have received free them so far. I got my quote and paid the deposit on 30/3 and few days later someone came and measured. I was told it would take 4-6weeks and someone will get in touch for installation. On 11th week I rang them and they said everyone is busy someone will call me back which never happened and same the second time. On third call I guess the lady could feel my frustration and made sure I got called back. When the guy called me back he had no apology just said so I hear you ready for installation? Hello isn’t that your job to call the customer. Anyway we have booked an installation date and if I am happy with the product and service I will change my rating but so dissatisfied right now.

Just had our outdoor blinds installed and are very happy. The consultant who came out to the guys installing fantastic. However the lady organising the install was so rude, I honestly don't know how the company would employ someone like this and risk losing customers at how rude she is. Otherwise extremely happy

The quality of the blinds them selves are 10/10 but the communication from the initial consultation to installation far far less.

They will dangle a discount in-front of you if you cancel all other quotes and take a leap of faith by signing with them straight off.

My advice would be to shop around as what was installed wasn’t what I was clear about wanting.

I feel that after having spent $4200 on 2 blinds and after having been clear on what I wanted they should have rectified the issues to my satisfaction! The offer of rectification was not to my liking not did they offer compensation and so I was stuck fixing the issues myself.

They essentially ruined the aesthetic look of my home! And in my opinion devaluing it!

The blinds once installed originally sat a good 20cm if not higher off the floor and I was told it was the lowest they could go. When I called the manager to tell her we fixed the issue ourselves thanks to a super handy husband she just laughed. This is not good ethics or attitude from a company they toots their own horn constantly.

I feel like I paid for premium and received the wish version. I spoke to the manager who kept throwing the contract in my face despite them not being installed to contract or to meet client expectations.

I have more blinds to install for my granny flat, we will not be using or recommending this company to anyone.

Got classic blinds and really happy with the quality. Stronger than i expected. Was concerned as had them down while out and a very strong wind came up but they were fine.

Peter from sales was great, having him made the difference for us between choosing who to go with for the build, communications and delivery within said timeframe was perfect. Finishing and build quality is also great. The pergola and deck was as exactly as described.

Absolutely disgusting customer service. Measured incorrectly and had to wait weeks for new parts. Was not consulted with to book in date for new installation and contractors arrived without any knowledge. Caused leak in the roof. Called at 7.45pm on a Friday night to chase minimal final payment. Hung up on me. Extremely rude and unprofessional and threatened to void our warranty.

My mother has been dealing with Australia Outdoor Living for some time now, we have 3 outdoor electric blinds. They’ve been out at least 3 times to “fix” the blinds and they’re still unacceptable.

First contacted AOL a few months after install to let them know of the issues. It has been 5 year since install and since the very first few months the blinds have been noisy and coming off the wall, the fixings are not adequate and there’s currently a 5-10mm gap between the wall and frame. Noise is so loud it leaves guests blocking their ears and looking in disgust. Seems like the blind was not measured correct, haven’t been able to get a straight answer or resolution from AOL.

Poor & Inexperienced installers and I Regret every bit for putting Artificial lawn through them.

Lessons learned.
* Paying premium price because of some great advertisement doesnt always mean you are getting good service.
* Make sure the years of warranty for labour and material what the saleman has pitched and whatever he offers is also on the contract before you sign the contract Or make sure he writes in email or add to the contract.
* Get the company person (not contractor) to come, verify the work and confirm you in writing that the installation is as per standard or as per required before signing the "customer satisfaction slip". Otherwise you are confirming you know how to verify the contractor's work and is as per required and will blame on you for not reporting the issue later

What happened
=
After two years I realised that I should have noticed that their contract wont mention the number of years of warranty for both labour and material before signing the contract and you will have only 5 days of cooling off period. So I should have made sure that what the salesman says is on the contract before signing especially the warranty.

The customer satisfaction slip they make you sign after installation is actually you are confirming you have verified that their contractor's work is as per the required standards. Unless you know how to verify the work, dont sign it. No one from the company will come and verify their contractor's work. They will put on you that you verified their work when any issue comes.

Their contractor broke the drainage pipe during installation. He created a unnessessary slope during the installation which is causing ponding and decoloration of grass (picture attached). Now they blame the NSW rain even after I have shown the original picture taken on the day of installation. By the time you realise all the issues, you will learn what you have signed is not all what the sweet speaking saleman offered and you have to pay to fix it.

Finally, the contractor will make you sign a customer slip torn from another sheet. After an issue happens, you will learn that the you have not just signed customer satisfaction slip only, but also agreed to the other part of the torn sheet which he will not explain.

I thought i am getting a very good service because of the way great advertisements on facebook and when paying premium amount. Now I regret.

Called up to get a quote for artificial lawn to be supplied and installed. The lady I spoke to asked what suburb I lived in. After I responded (we live in a Northern Sydney metro suburb), she put her hand over the phone and was whispering. Then about 20 seconds later, she returned and said “sorry due to Covid and the floods, we’re unable to service your part of Sydney”. Was the weirdest comment given our suburb isn’t currently or hasn’t been affected by floods and Covid has been around for 2.5 years now and things have resumed to normal. After reading many recent reviews, I think we dodged a bullet anyway and we’ve gone with a reputable company who can complete the job within the next few weeks.

Warning, do not let AOL do any work for you and definitely do not pay them upfront as they insist because if / when they damage your property they deny fault and run, even if you are a repeat customer.

Great job installing and quick, unfortunately two things have made things have bothered me. I had already told one installer that I would make a bank deposit that day as I had to pick up my son and when my partner came home between shifts she was stopped by the other installer for the payment, if I had not contacted her the payment may have been made twice. The other ongoing issue that the company that had been arranged for the skip bin “cobra skip bins “ have not picked up their bin in two weeks despite emails and calls, meanwhile every neighbour seems to be dumping their rubbish in it

Excellent service from the time Peter arrived to discuss details. Our experience was seamless. Having looked at a couple of other options went with AOL and both the quality of products and staff has been excellent. Installation too was done well. Cost was slightly higher than others but was well worth it.
