Yogis Kitchen reviews
59Ordered take away on a recommendation and was very pleased. Got the chicken tikka masala, beef vindaloo, lamb rogan josh, and vegetable korma. Delicious flavours soft fluffy naans. Couldn't fault it, so yummy. The veggie korma was a favourite amongst the five of us
Worst experience I've ever had. I've never seen a business with such poor organisation.
Order delivery which took over two and a half hours to arrive. When I called the store at the 1 hour and 45 minute mark I was informed it was, "among a bunch of orders coming and to wait 30 minutes. " When the order arrived 45 minutes later (I live 10 minutes from the store) it was cold.
Hope you kept reading for the grandslam
The order arrived and instead of containing
- Butter Chicken
- Goat Curry
- 2 x Samosas
- 2 x Rice
- 2 x Garlic Naan
- 2 x Chicken Tikka
- 2 x soft drink
What I received:
Two cold curries and two drinks
Absolute joke.
If you're thinking about getting take out, make sure you put on Avatar because it has a run time of 2h 48mins. And then you can cook rice yourself.
Nice little restaurant with good food with right amount of spices. They even deliver if you live nearby and they accept cash payments on delivery.:)
Apart from food which is absolutely delicious and authentic.
I love the vibe and ambience there.
Will surely come again!
We visited this restaurant as a big family group, let me tell you not a single one of us went out unsatisfied. Food was just excellent along with the service. After Canberra, we travelled to Sydney but did not find the same great tasting food. Best one after a long time. Please visit this place for a great food, you will not regret it.
Decided to try a local takeout joint. Driven past numerous times and loved the smell. Ordered online, for what are reasonable prices, for Canberra anyway. I received quick prompt friendly service. Back to the apartment and loved every bite. I’ll be back for sure.
Fantastic food! We ordered take away it was huge order! All the food was cooked to perfection and the chicken 65 and Onion Pakoda were next level!
Living right across the street from Canberra's best butter chicken and naan bread isn't good for my waistline! I have Yogis at least once a fortnight and they never disappoint
Lockdown, no lockdown; the quality doesn't change. Not too oily or fatty, but the perfect curry that you won't regret in the morning! Chicken Tikka and Samosa is the way to go for a great night.
Easily the worst Indian I have had in Canberra. The entire experience was disappointing. Arrived to collect and was not ready. Staff simply said "10 minute" and went back into kitchen. Then saw them loading frozen bought in samosas into the deep fryer. The vegetarian platter for two was simply deep fried battered frozen vegetables. The curry was flavorless, save for being both too sugary and salty. Doubt the made it in house. Naan was dry and also not cooked in house. We both felt sick the day after eating here.
Save your time and go to 7 by the lake or literally anywhere else.
Yogi's is a bit far away from where I live, but I still choose them over closer Indian restaurants because the quality is out of this world! Even travelling nearly 7kms to get to me, the food is always piping hot and fresh. I've never had a bad meal here, never even an average or only OK meal either. Highly recommend the Chicken 65.
Delicious Indian food. One of the best I have ever tasted in Australia. Great value for price as well.
Best food I've eaten in a long time. And the staff are friendly and attentive. Accompanied by a committed carnivore who said: "I usually avoid vegetarian food but this [dish] is delicious"
Great food, great service, good value in a small shop. 2 minutes walk from the Kurrajong hotel.
Great traditional Indian. Well balanced spices for all palates, very friendly family-based staff and very comfortable atmosphere to sit and enjoy. My regular go-to!
Whenever I was in Canberra from Brisbane, I always dined at Yogi's Kitchen and enjoyed meals. Visited with my family many times. The owners were very nice. But today I have been turned away saying we don't have table for 1. They should mention outside that should be more than 1 to dine in. Sat there for 25 minutes, 6 tables were empty, could have dined in that time. Breaks that old bonding with the restaurant, will never be visiting again.
Absolutely amazeballs! Best Indian food I've had and the people that work there are really nice. Very nice atmosphere too with a lot of genuine touches.
Well i went with my family there for lunch and it was great starting with the ambience and atmosphere of the place was freindly and comfy and food was great too and the staff was very welcoming. I just loved it and would recommend everyone to visit there if they want great indian food with a supercool atmosphere.
This is the first time I had food at Yogi's kitchen. Nestled in the suburb of Barton surrounded mostly by offices, Yogi's is a small Indian joint with seating for 20 pax. The menu is extensive with good options including the usual chickpeas curry, paneer gravy, tandoori chicken etc.
We ordered appetizers, mains with breads including aloo papdi chaat, paneer sizzler, mirch paneer and dal makhni.
Both the chaat and sizzlers were enough for three people and tasted quite good. The chaat included boiled potato, spinach pakoras, yogurts and chutney. The sizzler though a bit too charred taste great with a lemony kick.
The mirch paneer was a dry veggie with cottage cheese, capsicum and onion. It tasted great with a bit of spice and the dal was nice and creamy.
A special mention for the butter naan- flaky, crispy and buttery - true to its name.
The lassis came out late and could have been missed.
They also have a lunch special for $12 including a curry, naan and rice which I might try in the coming month.
All in all a great option for lunch or dinner.
Nice restaurant, good service, nice and tasty food. There is enough parking place near the restaurant. Limited seating area, lot of takeaway orders. Run by a family well maintained.
