Jewel of India reviews
66I ordered a lamb biryani today. Maybe the worse biryani i ever eaten. It was just like taking some lamb curry and mixing it with rice. Tasteless and no flavor at all! What a waste of my money. Never again.
Tired and hungry us at 9pm, first time in canberra searching for great food. And we got the great good along with perfect customer service. We loved it!
24 of us went on a Wednesday night and throughly enjoyed it. We had banquet 1 and were surprised that the dishes for each course came at the same time for everyone, as well as the other diners. There was plenty of food and it was delicious, the staff were courteous and friendly. I'll be going back.
Waited around 2 hours for the main curries to arrive. One was too salty, another was too hot/spicy and another was tasteless. Will never go back.
An exceptional, family run restaurant with top notch Indian food. Very nice decor and service with attention to detail. The highlight is definitely the food, fantastically flavourful! I will recommend this restaurant to family and friends.
We are a family of 3 with a teenage son. We had a lovely evening at this restaurant. The staff were friendly and even though our meals took awhile the staff kept us up to date and compensated us with delicious mango ladies. Great food and would definitely go back
One of our favourite restaurants in Canberra! Exceptional food, very kind and attentive staff and I love the soft Indian music as well. The curries are very authentic and flavoursome! We will keep bringing friends here for years to come.
Absolutely delicious! We ordered the banquet and it was all very yummy. For the curry I was given a recommendation that I absolutely loved. I’ve found a new go to curry. Definitely recommend.
Loved the food! Price was fair only down fall of the night was we both got curries with one rice each. My wife's rice came out with her curry. Mine came out 10 minutes after my curry was served. Lucky enough i used half of her rice to eat my food otherwise my curry would of gone cold before i received my rice. Besides that it was 5/5 just wish my rice came out on time.
Fantastic. Great food. Great staff. The restaurant is clean, great ambience and I tell you, the best naan bread I've had for years. Highly recommend
I ordered curry the other day and was not worth the money at all. Not happy. Would not recommend. I have tried Jewel of India twice neither of the time was good enough or even satisfactory.
Had diner in group of six on a quiet Tuesday night and it was great. Lovely atmosphere, attentive and friendly service and really delicious food. Some the best Indian food I've had in a while.
We enjoyed a great meal with the naan bread being our favourite. Staff well mannered and service prompt. Would return if ever back in Canberra.
Really different Indian dishes shows that they have thought about the menu and offer a great dining experience. They also keep the hot dishes to standard not toning them down for Aussie palettes. Fantastic food.
The only thing was good their water.i think they should go and check other few restaurants that how food taste.their chef or cook have no idea how to cook.worst food of all time and customer service they even did not give our order properly.they should check people's table that how they leave everything.specially their confidence to ask customers how was food.close restaurant or change your cook.please do not give people pathetic food.we come to eat something different not s.t
Rude and very poor customer service. Waiter literally thrown plates in front of me and my spouse while serving us the dinner. Brought cold water and when requested to kindly provide us with room temperature water, he brought it after exactly 10 minutes.
Meat served in the dinner was bland, though the curry was full of flavor.
I was disgusted by this experience.
So, I will not suggest anyone to visit this restaurant unless you want to see how bad customer service looks like.
Absolutely beautiful food.
I always visit this restaurant when in Canberra.
Food, service and pricing is excellent.
Thoroughly reccomended.
A little disappointed. My partner and l had the banquet for two. Starter platter was enjoyable. My partner ordered the beef madras curry while l ordered lamb korma for our mains. The beef was tough as old boot and l wasn't sure if l got lamb, beef or goat. Service was attentive.
Absolutely ridiculous experience, saw a biased behavior towards white people. They served them first like their brother-in-law.
I hate doing bad review. BUT that was the worst indian food we ever had! Worst experience.i'm turned off indian food for a very very long time!
