Jewel of India reviews
66 The service and the food was absolutely exceptional. Could not recommend this restaurant more. One of, if not the, best restaurant I have been to.
The food was second to none. We ordered two Butter Chickens and one Chicken Korma, each with rice. The food was fresh, well-cooked and tasty, with the presentation beautiful. An amazing dinner that we knew was fresh and made with passion.
The owner of the restaurant provided me with the best service I have experienced in a restaurant. One of the kindest and bubbliest people I have met, ensuring that I left with a smile on my face. His conversation was amazing, and it really made my time at the restaurant. I seriously could not speak more highly of him.
If you are in Canberra, have a meal at this place. It’s worth it!
The food was really nice. I order a butter chicken the meat was really tender. Beautiful curry love every thing. Worth it.
Used to love this place but the portions have changed recently and the staff are either overattentive or very under attentive.
I have tried in all Indian restaurants, but this was one of the best restaurant with beautiful atmosphere and kind and soft speaking staffs.
I have ordered vegetable dum Biriyani and mix veg. Taste was ok type not super. Ambiance, staff are good.
Food was lovely. We had tika masala, korma and saag all were very nice and meat was tender.
Staff and owner were nice, great service. We will be back.
Poor service, average food and
Unpleasant attitude of the owner/manager sums up this place.
By ready to face to embarrassment if you ask for any additional request.
Very bad attitude of the manager, kindly change him if he is not the owner, Food was ok ok
Poor quality food Please increase the quality of your food and make it worth our money. There is too much food colouring, burnt nan, and beef vindalloo that tastes terrible.
The food and service at this restaurant is faultless. The meal was exquisite and the mango lassi was the best I have tasted. First time with cardamom, they will do it with or without. I have eaten Indian in both Bangkok and Singapore and this meal surpassed both overseas rsstUrants.
Ordered Tandoori chicken. It sells like sea food (fishy smell) and informed it to the guy at the reception. But he insisted it’s okay and have it. We didn’t feel comfortable and left it. While paying the final bill he offered 10 discounts (which we did not expected). We also ordered chicken biriyani which is also not good.
Easily best butter chicken in the ACT, amazing service and incredible atmosphere, hospitable towards family, absolutely would recommend without second thoughts
Had takeaway from here a few times before and after change of owners and name, used to be good but the last couple of times very average, vegetarian dishes lack flavour it will fill a gap if you're starving though
Average food:
We could walk in on Sat evening and service was also quick. Food was ok but “Dum ka Murg” dish specifically was very bad. Neither it tasted like a Dum dish, not it had enough meat pieces there. The gravy was so thin that it felt as if water was added to it.
But we could not figure out how to give this feedback to the Manager there …. Because no one ever asked us about the food etc.
We went to this place on a wrong day, some sort of party is going on. Feels like a bar or pub, too loud, men with drinks and so on. At least the management should consider other customers or reserve the evening for party.
Food is average, too much oil in the fried rice.a gentle advise to the chef watch some youtube videos and learn to make proper Indian food.
Food tasty but service a bit indifferent. Cauliflower 64 very nice as was the chicken tikka entree
The food was fantastic. Tandoori chops for starters, butter chicken and prawn vindaloo. The vindaloo is proper hot so be prepared. Restaurant was busy and short staffed but otherwise one of best Indian food I’ve had here in Auz.
Service is not good. Very spicy food even if you order mild. No authentic Indian food taste. It is just filled with chilli powder. Will not recommend.
OMG! The groans of delight from our table as we made our way through the entrees were something to behold. The lamb cutlets, chicken tikka and prawns were out of this world! It’s a place for a long leisurely dinner not a speed feed, highly recommend!
Prepare yourself for a fear of regret if you are planning to go to this place. Horrible taste, lots of chilli powder, no flavour of meat. You are better off trying a ready to eat meal from any indian store rather than trying food here.
