Best Italian Restaurant in Subiaco

Some friends and I just popped into Woodpeckers today for an impromptu lunch and great Italian food. Needless to say we were all very impressed.

Their super friendly and welcoming staff made us feel right at home without to much fuss.

They have an extensive and authentic Italian menu with some fantastic options. I can highly recommended the Linguini Aglio Olio (with very tasty prawns as an option).

I did look at the wood fired pizza options as well and will be trying one of them next time for sure.

The food is very nice and service good too. Very noisy and table booking might make for better dining experience. Chicken Pesto pizza tasty.

Very authentic Italian restaurant with friendly staff and delicious food options. I work close by and have been dining at Woodpeckers for their lunch time focaccias for as long as I remember!

Super yum, lots of melting cheese (unlimited too) and a good amount of food. Try the dinner for two with wines - great price! Thanks team!

The staffs there are so cheerful, their vibes rubs off on their customers. We had a wonderful time there. I like how they cook their food, generous with ingredients and they do not over-flavour their food, just good natural tasting pizzas.

One of the best in its kind, I guess the Raclette cheese is the most special thing about the restaurant but we didn't get the chance because no booking available. I ordered pesto pizza with chicken, was very happy with it. Bruschetta was pretty good too. Will leave Raclette and pasta for next time

The place is very nice and cosy and the food is just excellent! The staff is very kind and enthusiastic (very italian like:) ). Totally recommend this restaurant!

Woodpecker's is our favourite place to eat out in Perth! We are always greeted like family from their amazing staff. Their food is amazing! Best chili mussels and chicken parmy ever!

Have been here before and loved it, but unfortunately this time that wasn't the case. We had booked a week and a half in advance for valentines day only to be sat right next the door where people were waiting to be seated whilst waiters and guests walked back a forth past us all night. The food was adequate, the gnocci was quiet watery and the bowl was mainly filled with just whole tomatoes and cheese, quiet disappointing as last time we got outstanding service and this time they really let us down.

Usually wonderful melted cheese experience restaurant, this was a terrible evening with the manager very very rude about my wheelchair, on a few occasions, and despite us telling them when booking And having been there before! ! ! He tried telling us we hadn't informed him but one of the nice staff whom we had met on previous visits informed us they saw the booking and it was clearly marked 'wheelchair user'.

This place used to be my favourite restaurant because of the raclette but I'm searching for a nice place to enjoy my favourite melted cheesey treat in Perth now, as I hated being made to feel guilty for needing my wheelchair, and stupid for being disabled, and vulnerable when he sneered at me so nastily when I said I couldn't eat much all at once due to my medications. My partner couldn't believe the gall of the man, and neither can I.

I would have left when we first arrived and were first met with rudeness and hostility, but I had been SO MAJORLY looking forwards to raclette cheese melted at the table, for my birthday, for a whole year, that I was not going to let one nasty man get between me and my melty wheel-cheese machine of gastronomic delights.

I believe the managers words uttered, on being informed of our booking and ascertaining I was in a wheelchair, then trying to get us to give up and do another (non birthday) night were: "well I suppose she can stay if you can get her in somehow" then the manager turned and walked off leaving us to it. It was lovely other diners who came to my rescue and scrunched up to let my chair get past!

Anyone who comes for their birthday gets serenaded plus, at Woodpeckers normally, and there were a few that evening, but despite my partner informing the staff, good and bad, nothing good happened to me, more proof disabled me wasn't welcome. I didn't choose to become disabled, and I don't enjoy it; even less enjoyable is being treated like a second class citizen because of it.

Enjoying food is one of the few things I have left of my enjoyments and hobbies that I can still do, and I just wanted a birthday with melted cheese raclette goodness at Woodpeckers, not to be made to feel apologetic for so much as breathing.

I was Woodpeckers biggest fan, and as an avid foodie, folk often try my recommendations, but if that extra business I sent them enabled them to hire that kind of staff, then I wish I hadn't recommended them, ever! I feel sorry for the good staff stuck working there with people like that.

Absolutely wonderful place to dine. Great food, the pizzas are fabulous, and the squid so tasty and tender. The hot chocolate is one of the best I've ever had. Very lovely friendly staff. A real lovely place, will recommend you put this restaurant down on your must eat list. I'll be going again for sure. I had a wonderful time. Thank you very much to the staff at Woodpeckers, thank you for giving me a dining experience to treasure.
