Walters River Café reviews
40Situated in a picturesque setting at Point Walter. Service is always friendly and efficient. Excellent coffee and a nice selection of treats to go with it. Food menu is also excellent.
Lady behind the counter was rude.
She offered to warm up the persons wrap ahead of me, when she served me she didn't offer and when I asked she said "we are closed" even though she'd just served 5 other people. Logic 0/10.2 stars because the wrap was good.
Beautiful Cafe, Beautiful Location, Beautiful Food and Beautiful Service!
What more could you ask for? The waitress' at this cafe were accomodating and welcoming from the beginning to end. There was a wide range of different menu items that could suit people of all food specifications. Had a fair amount of seafood options which was very fitting for the lovely area we were in.
My partner had the fettuccine, which was absolutely creamy and to die for. And I had the veggie stack which was amazing. We shared the bruschetta which was a nice addition to our lunch, very refreshing and light.
Would highly recommend for anyone looking for a lovely breakfast or lunch
This review is based purely on the fact that this cafe has paper takeaway coffee lids. Glorious.
The coffee was tasty. The ice coffee was tasteless.
This 27 years old building was formerly built as a community facility in 1994. Later it was converted to a cafe. A new cafe operator took over three years ago. What a beautiful and modern cafe that is spacious with both indoor and outdoor seating areas. More than 80% of the walls are clear glasses. I felt connected to the environment. Got a great view of our beautiful Swan River. One of the best cafes beside the riverbank. Long Macchiato tasted good. It has a good aroma, rich, a bit nutty, not sour and not bitter. The dine-in food is a bit pricy. Both Breakfast Wrap and Breakfast Bruschetta were delicious. The service was good. This is a good place for family, friends and visitors. Flat floor and suitable for wheelchair. By the way, a lot of free car parking bays in Point Walter Reserve. Enjoy mate! (2021-10)
I've been eating here for years, The staff are friendly and the food has always been very nice. Like anywhere, catch them on a busy day and you will have to wait a bit for service but over all I'd recommend eating here.
Shocking will never come here again. Paid $33 for 8 prawns all that I asked for allergic to rice and the green stuff
Friendly patient staff, delicious perfect prepared food. Weather put on a show of trees & waves with rain front the length of river. Cosy inside then out for blustry stroll.
Waiting an absurd amount of time to get a coffee and a sausage roll from the takeaway. Exorbitantly expensive and poor quality, Sausage roll was cold, got coffee order wrong, and got charged $3 for tomato sauce. A disappointing cash grab taking advantage of a captive audience.
Espresso to start off. Not even a half of what I have gotten everywhere else. Should have known at this stage that things wouldn’t be great.
Ricotta pancakes that could only be described as pancakes swimming in maple syrup. Literally. Bruschetta which was stone cold including poached egg. Even the waitress was cold and not welcoming. When paying didn’t even ask how we enjoyed our “meal”. We ordered 5 items. Only 1 was ok. Hence 1 star. Never going back again.
Beautiful service and good food! Had breakfast there with the family this morning. Highly recommend family meals, good with young kids, playground just next to cafe.
Great location & lovely staff however the food is average at best. The menu also never changes which is hugely disappointing and doesn't entice me to go back.
Very slow service and it wasn't even busy when we were there. Good quality not great and not good value for money. Beautiful view though.
If I could give 0 stars I would. We booked 5 days in advance for Mother’s Day. Table was ready. We were told we had to be finished 1 1/2 hours later. We ordered food 20 minutes after sitting down waiting. 3 meals came out 20 minutes after we ordered. Squid was rubbery. 4th meal came out 20 mins later when the first 3 meals had been eaten. No mention in menu of cashews being in Thai Beef salad, (would not have ordered otherwise as I have allergy). 4th n 5th meals came 10 mins later and had no flavor at all. They weren’t eaten, so tasteless. The entree came out after all the main meals. In all that time no one came to take another drink order. 2 hours later got gastro. Would not recommend at all. They would have known how busy they were going to be so why not have extra wait staff and chef. All they said was they’re very busy. Plus they charge restaurant prices for food that was very mediocre.
Horrible service. We had extremely rude waitress. She kept having a go at us for asking where our drinks were after waiting 45mins. She then spilt 1 all over the table she refused to clean it then tried to make us take the half empty drink. We ordered a burger no beetroot as i cannot eat it, asked the waitress if that was the case when given to me she said i dunno and then tried to touch my food to be sure. Then the kids food came with half a patty slap dashed together. Great spot huge shame about the service.
Shocking service, when asked for our milk for our tea, milk jug literally thrown at us, waited 40mins for scrambled egg & toast which I had to chase up and find out where it was and it had obviously been forgotten about and came out cold and dried up and horrible.then when we went up to talk to manager, she said okay so you are only paying for the teas & coffees and we said, really considering.only gave 1star as you have too.never go back again! Worst ever
8 of us came here this morning for my friends birthday and none of us were happy with our meal. It was either dried out, over cooked, bland, overly sweet or just not very nice. Not a cheap exercise either, so a double blow. Will not be returning.
Quaint restaurant down on the river at Point Walter. Friendly staff. The Eggs Hollandaise with with ham was delicious. Has an desert bar adjoining the restaurant.
Nice little cafe and tuck shop. Fish and chips were good, reasonable amount of tarteare sauce. Coffee was pretty good.
Location is excellent, one of the best views in Perth.
First time to this water River cafe. Very impressed. Lots of tables indoors and out. Water views. We had brunch at the time we went. Good variety of food on the menu. Lots of parking. Lovely area to go for a walk afterwards, or the kids can play in the playground. Worth a visit
