Ultra Tune Whitfords

We had a steering rack replaced and weren't informed that we would need to take the car somewhere else to have a wheel alignment. It states on the website 'wheel alignments'!
They had the car for four days and when I picked it up they told me they had disconnected the battery, reset the computer, and to see an auto electrician because the horn didn't work and there was an engine light on which was "because the seatbelt was faulty". As I drove off the car was awful to drive, there was a rattle when I turned the steering wheel (loose clips) and the engine light for the airbags was on, not the seat belt! I returned the car, the clips were put back in and when I asked about the airbag light I was told again it was because of the seatbelt.
I booked the car in for a wheel alignment at MyCar and asked them about the horn and airbag light. They checked other electronics on the steering wheel (volume control etc.) and nothing was working. They told me the clock spring had been damaged when Ultra Tune replaced the steering rack. We have called Ultra Tune and also visited the garage, however they refuse any responsibility and told us it wasn't them that broke it. It's strange because there wasn't an engine light on, and the volume and cruise control on the steering wheel was working fine when we dropped our car off to them. We won't be returning and will make sure our friends and family are aware of the disappointing service and the attitude of the owner towards our families safety after driving off in an unroadworthy vehicle!

We have always found untra tune Whitfords very honest and accommodating. They have gone out of their way to help us when we had a problem with our car. They are very organised and efficient. A great place to have work done on your car.

I thought I had to get new tyres, they ordered the tyres in for me and when i dropped off my car, they said that my existing tyres were still ok for a while more and not to change them yet. They didn't charge me anything, I am glad that there are still honest people around.

Caution! Short assessment of the car had them saying it was a minimum 3.5k fix. Ended up offering $1000 to get rid of it as it "not worth fixing". Took it too another mechanic who replaced a coolant hose and flushed the system only to find there was no internal damage to the engine. All good to go. Not saying they are bad, just expressing a word of caution over how quickly they offered to get rid of the car for a pitiful price.

Honest and kept to their initial quote. But also clearly listed potential issues they could foresee would require attention in the future. Also great to see and support a family business
