TRA Vinh Vietnamese Restaurant reviews
71Dropping standard, used to be nice/tasty, Got served wrong type of noodle, tea-bottle spills all around when pour. Anyhow, good location/easy parking!
Literally the worst customer service, did not make us feel welcome. Food was average, maybe even below average. Waiters didn’t even speak to us when we ask a question such as “what sauces belong to each dish? ” ; they did not reply and just awkwardly walked off and went to ask… The waiters didn’t even know what they were serving to us and when we asked which drink each was in the identical cups they gave us, they stayed silent and didn’t even help.
Tea was cold, had a dirty cup. Fish cake entree was terrible, egg on pork cracker rice dish was overcooked. The pho broth was luke warm and lacked flavour, the noodles were undercooked and in small pieces. Toilets are falling apart, no hand soap, no paper towels and toilet paper was all over the floor. Not recommended.
Not a bad Vietnamese spot, pricing is perfection. Good portion sizes and comfort food. Broken rice wasn't bad rice a bit on the gluggy side egg and pork good, patte just ok.
Special soup with the prawn cracker was ok just needed more heat.
Overall a good experience.
Authentic Vietnamese cuisine especially their phó. No frills good comfort food.
Have been coming back for over 10 years. Still good and has many regulars.
The place maybe a put off to some but it has its own old charm. As long as the food is good, I will return.
First of all, the noodles are boiled in advance, and when an order is placed, only the soup is roughly poured and comes out. The rice noodles came out as rice cakes! The noodle salad also didn't have enough sauce, but I was eating raw noodles and I thought this wasn't right, so I asked for more sauce and they gave me another cup I don't want to eat the noodle salad again. The table was a little dirty because I was busy.like wearing it? While eating, I was amazed at how other people enjoyed their food.
Great food, let down by waitstaff that didn't speak English and items 'not avilable'. Long table seating in centre.
Great authentic food, affordable, and good portions.
Have come here multiple times with my grandma for a quick meal
Yum food but once i went with my aunt and the pork chop was raw when she bit into it so she asked for another and they just refried the same meat and gave it back (because her bite mark was there). So other peoples food probably has her saliva in it now
They're definitely understaffed when we dined there, tables were not cleaned fast enough so a lot of people had to queue for a long time outside. Food did come pretty quickly though, must be because the broth for soupy dishes was already pre-made.
We ordered braised duck noodle soup, combination beef pho, broken rice pork chop, crispy chicken noodle dry, fried and fresh spring rolls. The quality of the dishes was quite nice, hence the constant customers coming in during the 1.5 hours we were there. Prices were reasonable. We'll definitely come back.
I've eaten here a couple of times now and I definitely highly recommend this place!
Food has always been super tasty, always get special little condiments to change up each dish to your taste, and the staff are always kind even when they are busy.
Honestly not much to say except every dish is a winner and their Vietnamese coffee is seriously good!
3 - 3.5 stars
Venue: located here for decades. Park at street. 2-3 tables outdoor (have to order and pay first for dining outdoor). Rather packed indoor. Old decorations. Very Casual setting. Utensils and seasonings are on each table. - 6.5/10
Service: very busy. Not always attentive. Placed the menu with 2-3 pcs serviettes on the table when to be seated. No tap water provided. No beverage menu provided. Ordered (a flask) hot tea, but not sure the cost of tea. Hot tea was free in the old days. Food served fast. - 6.5/10
Hot tea have mild extra-flavor, like the water soaked dried longan previously.
Food: normal presentation. Good value for such portion and traditional serving. Meet normal standard, not to expect very high quality. Basil leaves were not very fresh but ok partially. Bean sprouts and cabbage shred were ok.
- Sugar Cane Prawn Rice Paper Rolls, $9/serve (2 rolls) : haven't seen sugar cane prawn for long. Only avail here in Perth. But no sugar cane came with the rolls, deep-fried spring roll sheet instead. Some peanuts in the dipping sauce were not crushed. - 6.8/10
- Mince Crab & Pork Vermicelli Soup, $14: There were 2 tofu puffs and 2 (well- cooked, silky) blood cubes, 1 pig's trotter (very tender), 2 pcs of Gio lua, 3ps pork and crabmeat. I bite a soft crabshell. Soup base was not spicy for liking, but not bad. Good value- 7/10
- Combination Beef Pho, $14: There were, 1-2 pcs Beef triple, some cooked beef and raw beef, and 2 half-cut beef balls. No beef tendon. Beef balls were larger than other Vietnamese restaurants. Beef was slightly chewy. Soup base was normal and traditional flavor. - 6.3/10
Overall nice spot for a quick meal. A bit oily for the chicken wing as the batter absorbed too much oil. Recommend.
The most authentic viet food in Perth. Their pho noodles alone warrants 5 stars. Only place in WA I have ever seen jackfruit smoothies.
With a couple of friends we have been coming for lunch to this awesome vietnamese restaurant for the last 5 years. I highly recommend it as a true example of great vietnamese food.
Been eating here for the past 10years but not anymore.the taste has changed, meat wasnt cook properly, rice was smelly, rude and mannerless people.
Walk 5 blocks past 6 other Vietnamese restaurants to eat here, it is good. Though my favourite Bun Mam is an acquired taste
A poem about Bún thịt nướng.
Bún thịt nướng for lunch, dinner, when you’re happy, when you’re sad, when you’re hungover, when you’re fresh, with friends, on your own. Bún thịt nướng.
Quite nice, pricing is very reasonable for the meal that you choose. Pho is flavoursom and the beef is nice. I just wish they had serviettes on the table instead of waiting to get a handout.
A casual and affordable Vietnamese restaurant with authentic food done well.
We tried a few dishes and the broken rice's pork chop was marinated in a very tasty savoury and sweet coating but a tad overcooked as it was a little dry but still quite a delicious and yummy meal.
The braised duck egg noodles was satisfyingly flavoursome, tender braised duck meat with egg ribbon noodles in a deep and comforting braising broth.
There's seating indoors for dine in, takeaway available, and service is simple but efficient. There's no dedicated parking, but there's paid street parking close by. Overall, an affordable Vietnamese restaurant with some really good food.
