Threepence Cafe Bakery reviews
53We’re locals and love walking for a coffee shop on weekend mornings. We bought coffee on Saturday (13.01) and Sunday (14.01), coffee on Saturday was pretty good but on Sunday the milk was terribly hot, overboiled, i made a sip and burnt the mouth so i had to put it into the fridge for 20mins to cool it down. I love supporting local business and dont mind to pay CBD-price for coffee in HP but the quality isn’t worth it, it’s not the first time we get a hot-as-hell-impossible-to-drink coffee. Please invest in training for your staff and make a coffee great again for your loyal local customers.
We had a most lovely brunch here yesterday morning, we both enjoyed the French Toast with bacon, banana and hash brown- absolutely a highlight dish! The mint loose leaf tea was a bonus, sick of cafes using tea bags… Our Henry enjoyed a puppucino - great little cafe with dog friendly outdoor seating area, definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area.
Hey, just had the chefs special (curried eggs of toast) it was really good just the right amount of spice. Maybe the red onions need to be cut a little finer, but still amazing!
A small & nice cafe. Beautiful plants around. Loved their coffee & food. Will be back soon. Well done guys.
I have been going to 3pence for years but I recently had the butter chicken burger and butter chicken wrap……. They were so good! It’s making me hungry just thinking about both of them.
Great coffee, the chips are super crunchy and fresh.their Mi Goreng burger might just be the best burger I've ever had in my entire life.no exaggeration!
Excellent portions, like a proper meal-serve and all the food came out reasonably quickly too
Although this place is a half-hour drive from my house, I WILL make the trip again!
Food is good. The only suggestion is that they should stop using newspaper to wrap the food when one does take away.
Newspaper ink is not good to consume.
Been here three times and tried different dishes each time - amazing food and huge servings. The staff are so friendly and helpful.
This place gives you a gist of what Mumbai street food tastes like. If you want something to satiate your taste buds with quality indian street food, please pay a visit here. We had Chilli milli jungli sandwhich, schezwan wada mayo which was on special, mumbai style masala khichiya, dabeli, vegie masala maggi and rajwadi masala chai which earned a star of it's own. Loved it and will be back soon.
Service was good, coffee was great however the value for money on some meals was disappointing. The ding dong burger cost $15 and came out no bigger than a cheeseburger size. We were really disappointed we'd paid $15 for it, such a shame as it was our first visit.
Coffee is nicely done. The white choco coffee loaf cake is tad dry and crumbly. We enjoyed your fritata and inspired to make our own.:)
I enjoyed a food on weekend with my family. It was amazing service and food. The place is awesome.
Excellent Customer Service. Delicious Indian Food with authentic taste. My Recommendation: Samosa Chat and Chilli Milli Jungli Sandwich with Indian Chai.
Don't call yourself a bakery then heat up a ham and cheese croissant in a microwave use a toasting machine. Goes to show the care factor of this joint. No wonder the kitchens closed I'd hate to see what comes out of there if they can't even heat a croissant up correctly. Definitely won't be back.
Amazing place to try authentic Indian street food and Chai with Parle G. Must visit. Great service!
I really wish I could say nice things about this place as it's a local and we are in desperate need of places to eat around here. However, the food just doesn't hit the mark and the price point doesn't justify what is being served. I have been here several times and each time have been disappointed.
The small selection in the front window is basic at premium cafe prices. The burger I had was below average with poor quality ingredients, similar to a deli grab and go burger and doesn't justify the $22 price mark. The patty was tense and grisly, the cheese not melted and ingredients basic on the lower end of quality. I don't think the patties are house made and seemed re-heated, along with the Mac and cheese which was dry and old - definitely didn't taste recently fried. The chip salt was a nice touch on the chips however. Breakfast was basic once again and left us questioning the value, especially compared to places like 8 Yolks nearby with similar pricing points, or the Quarry, which has amazing quality burgers and food at similar prices (most of which you can get on special during their weekday promotions). As quiet as this place is they don't do anything to seperate themselves from being generic to pull people in, instead I find myself driving out to much further places to get better quality ingredients and coffee.
Efficient service and coffee and food was good.
Only fans inside and the day I was there, Very warm but enjoyed my time there.
Awesome coffee and generous sizes. I love the little cookie that comes with it. Food has room for improvement. ;)
I gave it a 4 because my friend loves the food but I would rate it a 2 for performance. Sign says Bakery but dont go tgere to buy bread. Looks like a pleasant coffee/lunch bar. But be early they stop cooking at 1.00pm. 10 to 1 when we went. What is that about.
Thanks to the owner and talented chef for the delicious catering options for a couple of my recent events. Everyone loved them and the GF options we're equally as good! I'll keep stopping by for the coffee too! Thanks again
