The York Hotel Kalgoorlie reviews
49Appalling service. After buying a meal, a couple of beers, we were asked to leave, simply because staff wanted to close (1/11/22,8: 50pm) early and wouldn't allow customers to finish their drink. No wonder all the other Hotels in town were still open and packed full of people. What a shame, as the York used to have a good name.
Nice enough bar, but they charged me $13 for a pint of Little Creatures. Think I’ll move up road next beer.

Rat in the rooms, poisoned dinner, I went to the hospital with the ambulance, even with an allergic reaction. The owner is very grumpy and rude.
Very friendly staff.
The inaccessible pool with all the things hanging out and sacks on the ground.
The dog that cried out all night.
The services outside the hotel are cold.
Never again an experience like this.
A very nice building, lovely decor and welcoming staff.
We ordered lunch, a cheese burger and York Minute Steak with garlic prawn sauce.
The flavours were really nice, the presentation nice.
However, the cheeseburger was barely warm, in fact cheese had not even gone soft and was cold.
Same with the minute steak. It had gone cold and well overcooked. The sauce was barely warm and the mash had formed a skin, vegetables not even warm.
Disappointed in the service had to wait 45 min for our meal, asked medium rare stake came out nearly blue
Dinner with a friend. I ordered the lamb, she ordered the pork, they both arrived on an identical bed of vegetables. I found the flavour to be quite average, but not bad. Staff were friendly and happy to resolve an issue I had.
Worldly. Had A League on instead of AFL. That's embarrassing. Waitress had the hospitality of a wet sponge. Still, I love the place.
Service was excellent. Food was reasonable but lacked seasoning. Slightly over priced for what I expected.
Asahi on the tap is a plus, they also have many other rare beer on tap. Ordered a medium rare scotch fillet and it came as sightly over medium. Food was average.
I booked through travago. $64 a night. Room was clean. Shared shower and toilet. Only thing i would say was bad was the $64 had breakfast included. I went for breakfast wich was toast with small condements. Jam honey etc. Instant coffee, juice, etc. Had a glass of orange juice and went back for a second. Orange juice had run out. I went into kitchen to get more and saw this. That's dog food stored with the food. This place has a restaurant i just hope they don't store the restaurant food with the dog food. Threw out toast I'd made and went and bought breakfast.
Barra for dinner was excellent. Normally inland seafood is questionable, but the York serves up a decent feed.
Beautful hotel. Taken lots of pictures even before patronising. Had the york pizza last night and was delicious. Back here today for lunch specials york scotch fillet and chicken schnitzel. Took more pictures internally. Great friendly service.
Had a beer and meal at the mighty York whilst working in Kalgoorlie. The food was excellent as was the service. Recommended and favourite pub in Kal.
Food and service was good but the air conditioners in the main restaurant were not working. Upstairs on the balcony was full.
Good place to go for dinner. Very nice, historic hotel, great balcony, friendly staff and good food. I recommend sitting upstairs (downstairs/inside isn't too comfortable) and ordering some "classic" food. Best steak we had in a while.
Upstairs balcony overlooking the main street of historic Kalgoorlie. Quality cuisine, and of course beer. Friendly staff too.
We both enjoyed a lovely lunch on the upstairs balcony. Started with brushetta which was sooo yummy and my partner followed with the beef and pepper pie and i had the rissoles dish. All wonderful! We especially recommend the French bar girl Kim who never stopped whizzing here and whizzing there, multi tasking. Great employee.
Amazing food and at a reasonable price. Brought the Sweet Potato Wedges for $15 and this is what they brought out, a stunning dish!
Staff are nice and friendly. Will be coming back again.
Food really tasty and well prepared. Staff friendly and helpful. Good prices. I'm glad we have found a new place for dinner. Will be back.
