The Murchison Tavern

Went here because coming into gero late and needed a feed, unfortunately the food was not great. The stead was dry, overcooked and chewy - they forgot the sauce and when it came out the garlic sauce was flavourless, like there was no garlic in it at all. The Hawaiian parmi had the tiniest sliver of pineapple, so much so then when my partner went up to ask for the missing sauce he mentioned the pineapple. The salad was lacklustre, the chips where ok but very small serving. The drink I ordered tasted just like straight alcohol. We would have complained on the night but we where just tired and wanted to get to our accomodation.

Ordered takeaway on the website. Lamb chops with chips and salad, well cooked. The creamy garlic sauce was amazing, one of the best if not the best I’ve had. Staff on pickup were very friendly and communicated well.

Fast and friendly service. The chicken parmigiana could have done with more flavour. Their seafood linguine was delicious. Average priced meals.

Salmon with Mash and Veges was perfect. Big serve and great price.

Smashed a parmi and it was the best feed I've ever had, 10/10 would recommend felt as good as securing a bag on a Friday night

Beer was cold service was polite and good.fish was overcooked salad dressing tasted off. 40 C outside but doors open once full the pub was hot enough to sweat.

The bar staff truly went above and beyond with service when we had lunch here Tuesday 14/12/21 at around 12: 30pm. They truly are an asset to this business and it was so nice to finally get brilliant service in Geraldton.
Our only issues was the venue, it is on the dirty side and the smoke from the smokers section blows into the bar area, restaurant seats need a professional clean.
Food was good not great and on the pricey side.

Sunday roast for $15, plenty of meat, needs better vegetables and more gravy. Always a favorite hangout. Staff need more management support.

Cooked, great chips, delicious salad. Great teamwork to all your staff working in difficult times. One waitress mostly delivering food, awesome work always smiling n kind. Manager asked staff member (off duty) to carry my drink as I was on crutches. (Went above and beyond) Think before you bag a eatery most work places are working understaffed as they cannot get workers. This is in every industry be kind, a lot of businesses suffering. Thanks Murchison you guys are all awesome xx

They have the best cocktails and garlic pizza, but the tables and chairs really need a good clean, feel greasy. Also the grout between the tiles on the tables are full of yuk!
Staff aren’t on the friendly welcoming side but this seems normal for Geraldton.

It was a cold night and despite requests from many patrons they refused to close the main door because "it made them look closed" but their dining room was quite full! All the diners were in coats and visibly cold. Our meals took over 1 hour to arrive and my Nasi Goreng was more like incredibly salty offcuts of meat and prawns in a heavy thick sauce, topped with an egg. I stomached 2 mouthfuls and gave up.the kids enjoyed their meals and the butter chicken was OK. Will NOT return in a hurry and definitely not on a cold night.

Met up with some friends for dinner, good range of food and drinks, well priced, would recommend any day of the week

Great meal again ***** 5 stars for the meals served. Thursday evening is busy and I personally thought that they could have more staff serving the meals and waiting on the tables, in saying that the young man on last night did a great job.

Usually have a great meal there. Not this time. They ran out of advertised chicken skins and replaced with cold chips. Pork chips were tough and very ordinary. There agitated to be only one waitress and the overly long wait for food was very disappointing.

New staff in training. Ran out of bitters in the bar. A little disappointed, in that.
Overall, pretty good experience.

Meal was great, we ordered the vanilla slice for desserts they came out frozen with no cream which they were supposed to come with. When I questioned them I was told they are supposed to be frozen which I'm sure is not true and that they had run out of cream. The chocolate slice was supposed to be warm but came out cold and hard.

And are we WA or QLD or ACT or NSW where nothing but rugby on the screens for 2 people when the rest in the place have asked for Aussie rules, better when it was the camel bar, we got to watch a West Aussie sport.
