The Murchison Tavern

Lovely tavern. We were staying a few days in Geraldton so decided to visit. Nice menu lots to choose from. We had a few shares which were nice. Was very busy which gave it a nice atmosphere.

Enjoyed my meal, nicely cooked. The young at meal order till was missing, another friendly woman, said it is not her position and find the respective person, who was on the woke side. We order drinks with our meals, but did not tell us that drinks had to collected further along the bar. Gave us a number, and went back to table. The first nice lady came and served our meal. We asked about our drinks, and she told us, they had to be picked up at the. They sitting there. The ordering girl failed to tell us that.

We had ourselves a lovely meal with very generous portions. Try the pork belly
Staff were very friendly.

I don’t normally review food, but this place was terrible. No service, even need to go get your own cutlery. Food was slow and my garlic prawns were undercooked and the rice was clearly old & dry. Menu is far too big to be producing quality. Prices were high considering the quality of food. Go elsewhere!

Wow we had lunch there two days ago. Personal service, lovely staff and environment. The food especially for lunch was so fresh juicy. I had the chicken Parmy and friend has seafood basket. The best

Disgusting service. Not by the staff but by management not being there to support their staff on a busy day. Pre-booked xmas lunch and waited over 2 hours just for the entre. 2nd time this has happened. If you can't run a tavern professionally then sell it!

2022 Christmas Lunch was an awful experience 3 hour wait for entree, our booking was at 12.30pm. My parents are elderly with medical conditions. The manager could not explain the delay did not apologise for the inconvenience or offer any compensation. People had preordered, pre booked and prepaid for this event. Others who were at this event were leaving without being fed. You were serving alcohol when no food was being bought out to the tables. A very disorganised mismanaged event it ruined our Christmas.
At 4.30pm we left the premises with takeaway containers with our meals and had to substitute a dessert for another as they had run out.

Second time we have booked a set menu occasion and you left us waiting 2 hours. You ruined our Christmas day and you didn't even refund. The staff are fantastic- it is management and owners who are so greedy they overbook, understaff and then gutlessly turn Facebook off so they don't have to deal with it. Your poor staff. You are a joke and just greedy. Christmas dinner was a scam.

Dish I ordered was perfect to me. Good atmosphere, not very loud. Tasty beer. Recommended.

Food was very good, a great improvement from last time.
I had the chicken schnitzel and it was delicious.

Great place to eat though there was a long wait but that was The food was excellent in August 2022

Atmosphere nice
Table very pretty and sticky. From rag maybe.
Shared entre- pork belly was gamey. I didn't eat it after first one.
Hubs ordered steak well done. Very cooked. Chips too long in fryer.
Mine was seafood basket.expensive. Chips dry and overcooked. S&p calamari was tender but had no flavour only on the coating. Fish was way over cooked and tasted like mud. Didnt eat it.
Drinks were nice. VERY NOISY!
I know a lot of people come here but the food was meh!
Wont be going back. Sorry!

A brilliant place to visit and have a drink or a delicious great sized and very well priced lunch or dinner, awesome daily specials for dinner be sure to check it out. The management is fantastic with Andrew very hospitable and welcoming even giving my wife a birthday cocktail on the house. Very satisfied with a nice outdoor area to sit and relax with a brew after a long day. We will be sure to visit again when next in Geraldton.

OMGosh I have the best seafood linguine and my Mum thoroughly enjoyed her fish and chips. The service was very friendly too. ️

Chilli mussels were sickeningly sweet. I had to pick a lot of the hairy bits out too. I would give the dish 4/10. It got very hard to eat by the end and 2 bits of bread were stale.

Food was ok, nothing to complain about, but nothing to rave about. Aparrently their chilli mussels are tops, so I will give them another go. Quick service, Friendly staff and locals. Good venue for functions.

Service is always questionable here, food was average for this pub. It could and should be soon much better

Chips were triple dunked so over-cooked, dry, yet still only luke warm.

Salad leaves were past their best; some had to be picked out.

Gravy missing from order.

Schnitzel OK but lacked flavour.

Service lacking.

Two stars because it was edible.
