THE HONEYCAKE SHOP in State Buildings reviews
34We were the only customers when we got there (weekday, early afternoon). The cakes are good (both the original and the pandan one). Quite expensive at $7.5 each piece, but good:)
I looooooove the pandan honeycake! Its soooo delicious The staff is sooo kind & bubbly too! Sadly the original honeycake contains Alcohol so we couldn’t give ourselves to try (and also the cake pops too! Oh i wish). If you plan to pay a visit, PLEASE TRY THE PANDAN HONEYCAKE OK? (at least for you, if its not for me: ’)
I had the pandan and enjoyed it.however will not buy again, personally i find it pretty small for $7 a piece.good experience and would still recommend if you have the budget.
One of my favourite places in Perth.
I love their honeycake, especially the pandang one.
Introduced many of my friends to them too, and they all love Honeycake now.
The cake tastes fantastic. But you will struggle to find parking when you go to the shop during busy times.
I love this place. It is on Washing Lane off Money Street ha ha
They have honey misu which is a cake in a jar.yum, I ate in one hit
It is a tirimasu like cake with honey
I had the ice-cream on a stick the other day
Next time I am there, I will have honey cake.really I should have had that first I suppose
I would recommend calling before you go if you would want to just drop in and get a gift (ie don’t have time to wait around or come back and get it). They close their shop in the middle of the day and I had to wait outside for approximately half an hour. Luckily
I wasn’t in a rush.
A perfect gift from Perth. The honey aroma hit me the moment I open the box.so fragrant & taste simply devine. It’s moist, rich honey & pandan flavor is a real treat with a cuppa hot tea. Delicious
Dad grabbed some honeycake when he was walking around the area. The cake is always very tasty and very easy to eat.
Amazing cake. You will not have any regrets having some. It is in my top five cakes of all time. I love it so much that I have it sent to be all the way across the country. I only wish that there was a shop in my city!
This is really sad to hear that today I called them and asked for halal original flavour cake which I always order for birthday in my family but they refused to make that. I guess this is so disappointing.
Have been a fan of the honey cake for years since we were introduced to it by a friend who's a local WA resident. Only criticism I have:
1) the shipping instructions provided for at least 2 interstate orders were not followed properly.
I've ordered a cake for my mum in law (in SA) once last year and just recently. She was home all day and not a single door bell rung, neither was my sister in law's mobile rung. A card was left on their home and I received an email notification that the honey cake has arrived SA and pending on collection at nearby post office. This was very disappointing as they were looking forward to enjoy the yummy cake.
2) I'm a local Perth resident but my postcode no longer qualifies for free shipping this year. It's challenging to go to Northbridge or Fremantle to buy the cakes with a young toddler in tow and it takes at least half hour if not more to travel one way to the cakes shop. I'm hoping there will be more options available for pick-up or perhaps a discount shipping fee (instead of $15 flat shipping fee) for local orders.
Nothing beats the original honeycake flavour. Glad they opened in this location. I hope they introduce honeycake store in eastern state aswell as the online order is very time consuming.
Totally delicious. Tried the new Honeymisu and it is amazing! As someone who has 2 bites of Tiramisu and is done, this was sweet, creamy and light and I could have eaten the whole jar on my own! The original honeycake is also delish and very moreish. Always a great treat and my go-to gift
Claire was super helpful made ordering a present for my brother very easy. An accommodating place with great staff! ️
Went there today and tried the tester of the honey cake, it was delicious, good ratio of the cream and the cake, so I decided to buy one piece. But the one I bought taste so different, very very dry like a dry biscuit and the cream I can hardly taste the honey. The lady behind the counter very friendly and nice. But the taste is not consistent. I don't mind paying 7$ for tiny piece of cake if it really good but what I got is very very dry cake and don't taste as good as the taster they gave.
We had a honey cake for a birthday. The quality of the cake was the same as we have had in the past. Loved the convenience of ordering online and having it delivered. The communication from order to delivery was excellent and when we received it on time it was beautifully presented. Lovely gift idea. All our guests were super impressed.
Great service and product. I had honey cake when it was first introduced into the market and the quality just keeps getting better. Loved sharing a Honeycake with a friend during my break in the city!
Honestly great cake. The flavour is balanced, the cake is soft and is just heavenly. I buy them every year around my birthday and are my favourite cake if I were to pick one!
But seriously- I get way too many emails from you guys.
Ordered a half slab original Honey cake. The staff were extra helpful in taking my order on short notice. Beautiful packaging, amazing flavours and something totally different to the usuall cheese or forest cakes. Will definitely come back again. Well done.
