The Gate Bar and Bistro

Pretty much got what we wanted here. Meal was great, and cheap, $15 for a good feed, middy, and a mystery bet, can't go wrong. Service was fast and efficient, but I'd say get in early, this place fills very fast.

My girlfriends friends and I met up for a lunch and some drinks, nice place for it is easy going, staff are friendly and security, not the greatest selection for drinks on tap though.
I ordered a meal from the bar and told them to please put the chorizo on another plate, when the order came it was underneath the meal. I took it back and said “I should of emphasised that my partner was allergic”. They took it back and within 5 minutes the same meal came back with the chorizo now on a different plate they clearly just moved it from underneath! I talked to the manager and she said they cook the meat and vegetables in the same pot!
We asked for a refund which they gave us without trouble but very poor on behave of the kitchen. Could’ve been a very bad night if we weren’t prudent.

We ordered Nasi Goreng and Barramundi. Partners comment on barra only half a fish. $40. Goreng rice was crunchy. Chicken dry. Very disappointing. Go to Rose Hotel Bunbury and try their Nasi Goreng. Very disappointed. Cancelled our booking for tomorrow and going else where. Guitarist was very good. Drinks good pricing.

I like the Gate. It's has a nice atmosphere inside. The food was great and the staff were friendly. Well worth a visit.

Massive props to the Gate Bar and Bistro staff for chucking us in the bistro with sound for tonight’s Perth Glory home game fans are unable to attend due to COVID restrictions.

The staff could not of been more accommodating when they couldn’t get sound on the outside big screen for us. Would recommend this as a sports bar venue

Great venue, always a great meal in the bistro sports on the tv and a cold beer as well. Gotta be good!

Loved our meal with family on Easter Sunday. Food was amazing. Staff were excellent especially the restaurant manager and our server who we confused when we said no to coffee and dessert then the other end of the table decided they wanted. Thank you all for a great family lunch. Your all awesome.

Although the service was very good the food was a disappointment. I had chicken parmy and the edges were burnt the chicken was well overcooked.

My son took me here to celebrate my birthday. Lovely and friendly service. Highly recommended, thank you for going above and beyond. Will definitely coming back.

Have recommended it to people already. Enjoyed the food and service was fast, professional and personal engaging with customers. Been before and will come back again.

Good atmosphere and venue. Steak sandwich was a killer! The pizza, bottom was burnt and alot of oil but was still enjoyable. Price is reasonable for what you get and a good select of of drinks as well as tap.

Great atmosphere, cold beer. Slow bar service at times. Had lunch several times food only average at best. Dry ribs and old tasting chips partially reheated (on 2 occasions) food is well presented but not fresh tasting. Other meal options have been presented well but questionable taste / freshness.

What great service, had nice meal and a few drinks, Bonash the Supervisor was so friendly and ensured everything was right. Will be back again

Wasn't happy with the chicken parmie, the chicken was cold, chips were cold, salad consisted of mainly chopped up cabbage

Great atmosphere, prices are decent. The Tuesday $19 ribs were huge for the price. I had a Caesar salad without croutons and it was still great.

Tried to get my young bloke a job there was promised by manager there's a job and told to bring my young bloke down straight away for a meet and greet so he did.
After weeks with nothing my young bloke went down there an extra 3 times was promised the job was happening never did disgraceful pub we never go back down there for a drink and by the way my young bloke got job down the road at another pub and well looked after there.

Rudest girl behind the bar we have ever encountered. If I was the manager here, I would sack her on the spot. Never coming here again and this is our local. EFTPOS machine was taking a while so I asked what was happening and got abused and then constant abuse when I asked to speak to the manager. Get rid of her. I work in customer service and wouldn't put up with this from anyone ever. See ya Gate.

Except you wouldn't split the bill in half using 2 credit cards. We do not use cash these days so it would have been alot easier for us

Food was fairly decent. Very disappointed though as they didn't take dietary requirements seriously.

Food was very good, decor is modern and staff are nice. Bar is very well laid out.

A pity about some clientele that were off their heads pretty early in the evening visibly jawing and speeding.
