The Earl of Spencer Historic Inn - Bar & Restaurant reviews
62This is a lovely place to come for a pub lunch, dinner or drinks. They have indoor and outdoor seating and lots of local drinks on tap. We went for dinner and the food tasted great. Parking can be a little tight in the small parking area but there is also street parking available. Highly recommend visiting.
Very much so enjoyed our pies & pints at this lovely warm historical location. Friendly happy service too. Added bonus is also a film location in "Lockie Leonard" (when he is walking Cyril the sheep into town past a burgundy coloured Daihatsu "Rocky" with an Irwin bullbar) Until today we were reasonably convinced it was a vehicle we owned until around 5 years ago.but there it still is with the same number plate filmed back in around 2007-ish so not our funtastic "jalopy" after all.but clearly a good breed of car to have been towing boats around the hills of "Angelus" for so long, aye?
Food was great, so was the beer. Service is friendly and prompt.
Nice chill atmosphere, english theme pulls it all together.
Try their coffee & Bailey's cheesecake
Excellent lunch.try the pork belly, it was exceptional.
We are planning to back for the Guinness pie which is highly recommended.
The staff are friendly and check in, all round a very pleasant experience, thank you.
What a great little place, the bar staff are exceptional, the food was great. We had live music the bloke on the acoustic guitar was ripping it up.
Had lunch there today. Great service, good size meals very friendly staff and dogs allowed in the beer garden
Amazing service, great prices and absolutely delicious food with generous portions (The best ribs I have had in years) If you're looking for somewhere to dine in Albany THIS is it.
Been here every time we visit Albany because we always have a great meal and drink, today we were informed as soon as we arrived that there was a serious menu shortage, usually that would annoy us but we were offered the steak for $20 instead of 40, it was absolutely delicious, the staff were fantastic, brilliant in all aspects
Great new summer menu.
Plenty of options for everyone.
A great range of quality beers not seen in other pubs around town.
Very reasonably priced too.
Had lunch in this nicely decorated historic pub. My wife’s burger tower was the nicest she’d ever tasted, served with thick cut chips. My home made steak pie was melt in the mouth, with delicious rich gravy and thick cut chips. Both meals were served with a free beer (any beer of your choice) or glass of wine. The plates were warm which shows attention to detail. The staff were lovely. There was a good choice of food and beers, all well priced. Portion sizes are large. It was an absolute pleasure to not be deafened by loud music or have tv screens flashing in my face. You can take in the atmosphere of the pub while enjoying your food. This beats anywhere else in Albany for lunch. Will definitely be going again.
Absolutely fantastic spot! Called in for a few pints when visiting Albany and loved the time at this venue. A proper pub.
Publican is a great fellow. Good range of choice on the taps. The house bitter was delicious.
The beer garden was perfect on a sunny afternoon, but if you happen to be unlucky and get less than perfect Albany weather, the inside is great too. Great selection of music playing followed by an excellent live act.
Bonus points for the mirror in the mens room that was slightly convex and made my shoulders look massive and buff.
Great local pub with super food… value for money for sure. The vegan shepherds pie was brilliant which was great for a vegetarian traveller. Good beer selection on tap and friendly staff… Well worth a visit.
Fantastic English style pub. We love this pub every time we come to Albany. I had the vegan cottage pie- it was amazing! Look forward to our next visit.
A real taste of an authentic English pub in Albany. Exactly like walking into a pub in England. Excellent food and beautiful historic interior, every inch in this pub is amazing. We had a great night. Fish n chips were delicious and the pie was huge and yummo. Irish coffee hit the spot.
Best pub in town. Excellent food, service and value for money. Vegan and Vegetarian options, great beers on tap and live music on Fridays. Highly recommend
Was advised to book ahead as this place gets busy. Found to quite quaint with nice open fire on a cool August day. We had lunch, service was good and food very enjoyable. We would certainly come back again.
Great pub with nice food and a good beer and wine selection. Super friendly and helpful staff. The pie and chips was very yummy, and the steak was well cooked. Felt super at home here.
Absolutely Devine, impecable food, warm cosy atmosphere. Heaps of Character, staff service Brilliant.
Jim is the most amazing waitstaff/bartender I’ve ever had at a bar/restaurant. The fire, food and beer was amazing and I will not only be recommending this to my friends but I will be coming back. I love the earl and the food is amazing! Thanks Earl - will be back
This place never disappoints
Have been here multiple times and the food and service is always above standard
Absolutely my fave place to go for a meal or a pint
