Taylor St Quarters reviews
71We had breakfast and it was a palate pleasing experience. The lady that attended to us had awesome customer service. Due to this experience we booked dinner. Service was shocking, we waited 20 minutes, no service. When approached about service they apologise and we were served. In comparison the other diners received constant attention whereas we were totally ignore. I wonder why our service was so sub standard but the other table experienced excellent customer service. Food was great but service was appalling at dinner?
Compliments to the chef 3 out of 3 meals well done and priced well. Friendly staff excellent location what more could you ask for.
A glass of wine and watch the bay. Esperance needs more of this.
My husband and I went there for a late arvo drink which was nice and decided to order a tapa each. I had the Beef Tataki.it IS one of the best dishes that I have ever eaten in my 31yrs of life. It was Nobu standards in flavour, skill, presentation, portion everything wise. I enjoyed every mouthful like it was my last. Thank you.
3 starts (I can't give it more). The place is lovely, really well set and warm. The staff is not totally prepare for a proper service. The food is extremely expensive for what you get. The menu is reduced and weak, not many options and not many changes. Good variety of beverages including cocktails and wines. Just fair to have lunch on a Sunday.
My husband and I had a meal at this restaurant tonight. Cannot fault the waitress staff, lovely, friendly service. We had an entre of scallops, the fish, and a scotch fillet, with a pumpkin side. My husband was totally rapt with his steak, it sliced like butter. My fish (travalli) was amazing. It was definitely enough, and just divine. If these staff are serving you, you won't be disappointed. The chef needs to stay there forever. Just brilliant. The restaurant was warm, and had a good and friendly vibe. Would recommend for sure.
After walking into the restaurant at a perfectly reasonable time for dinner, we were told by the waitress that she'd have to check whether the chef felt like cooking anything. It was 7 o'clock and several people were dining in the restaurant.
After a search for the chef which felt overly dramatic we were eventually seated and handed our menus. Upon placing our order we were informed that they had run out of almost every main dish, surely something worth mentioning before seating us?
After having another look at the menu a different waitress came to take our order. We decided to order some chips which apparently wasn't good enough as the older waitress returned to our table and started pressuring us to order multiple entrees before storming off in a huff.
Chips were as lousy as the customer service.
Nice venue, beautiful food, fast service, friendly staff, nice vibe.
Seems like they had a busy morning/lunch since 3 items were sold out, all of them that we wanted to order. The food we ordered was beautiful regardless. Will come back and check out their dinner options
Great restaurant and beautiful location - shame about the service though. Dined here in early January 2020. The food was excellent (had the pumpkin, octopus, polenta chips, brisket croquettes, risotto and donuts). The wine was very well priced too. Would have given 4 stars but for the service. We had to chase down a waitress to ask her to our table because the 4 staff behind the bar didn’t acknowledge us when we entered or while we waited for several minutes by the door. Majority of the staff seemed miserable. We were also told dinner bookings are at either 6pm or 8pm and we couldn’t make a booking between those times - despite that we saw several tables were reserved for 7.30pm.
Excellent beef burger! I went there with my girlfriend and the Lady (I guess the owner) super friendly found a table for me even though the place was full booked. Thank you so much! Live music. I totally recommend. Definitely 5 starts!
Lovely setting and very affordable but an extremely limited menu. Unfortunately the food was pretty average.
Despite seeing several free tables around the restaurant, we were told we could not be served food until 8pm. No explanation given as to why we were able to order drinks and sit at a free table outside, but not able to order food. Poor customer service and rude demeanor showed by girl who greeted us.
Very nice building in a great spot, went for breakfast and was left a little disappointed. Not disasterous, but what I assume was meant to be crispy bacon was pretty leathery, and the ‘bacon’ that came with the eggs benny was a fairly thick chunk of pork. Service was ok, although the staff didn’t seem particularly happy or enthusiastic. Won’t go again for breakfast, but would probably have a shot at dinner sometime
Such a cozy spot with friendly staff. First place we found ACTUAL vegan options on the menu and both options were delicious. The decor is so beautiful and they even give you free blankets if you’re cold. Definitely the best place we’ve visited for food so far in Esperance!
$25 for a pint and a small glass of wine! Could only sit at a table inside for 20 minutes as everywhere was reserved from 6pm. Would not recommend this place at all.
Prime spot; super nice on a sunny day. The food took quite some time to come out (hence the 4/5) but it was delicious. If you like pullled pork, make sure you try the Cuban
It's popular but I found the food choices a bit narrow and so only had drinks. Very nice surroundings.
Loved this place. When everything else in Esperance seemed to be closed on a Sunday and Monday, this absolute historical gem of a place shone extra bright. The building is a yesteryear delight (very aussie farmhouse with deep high ceilinged almost wrap-around verandahs) rolled tin roof (I happened to be there on a day it rained heavily and it was heavenly to hear). And the seating options are as comfortable and in tune with the place as you'd hope and this really adds to the charm of the place. On top of that, the food and drinks are excellent (it's definitely a foodies joint) and the service is friendly and helpful and efficient. Looking out to the water, dog friendly and kid friendly options, free parking, slightly set apart from the rest of the shopping district. I couldn't recommend this place more.
This is by far the best restaurant in Esperance. Pictured:
- polenta chips 8/10
- chicken skewers 9/10, cooked perfectly
- brisket croquettes 10/10 just wow
- roast spiced pumpkin with smoked yoghurt 9/10 very good
- tempura prawns 6/10 everything cooked fine just not that interesting
Nice interior design with a high end feeling (well priced meals though), welcoming staff and delicious food. My steak was perfectly cooked, juicy and bursting with flavor. Would happily go back.
Great lunch, it was Dad's day and didn't have to wait long for meals, visited Esperence for 4 days and happy we visited this Restaurant.
