Tartan Spice reviews
38 Really disappointed by our chicken tikka kebabs
The chicken was watery and greasy, not charred much at all. The naan was really doughy and undercooked. The closest toilet is outside and doesn't lock, also unclean. The shop itself could also be cleaner, things like the vertical blinds between the kitchen and main shop and the air con vents really give an impression of the whole place being unclean. There was also, very visibly, what looked like a rodent trap next to the counter, a little off putting!
Great curry, just like back home in Scotland. First time we have found spiced onions here in Aus. Can't wait to go back.
I wouldn’t recommend to anyone this restaurant, we took takeaway it’s tasteless and very disappointed.
Under the chef's specialty; I had the Southern Indian garlic chilli chicken - medium hot with peas fried rice. Absolutely delicious. Next time I'll ask to be more spicy.

Worst biryani I ever had, don't trust the reviews the food taste terrible. Try somewhere else if you want some good food
Great dining experience with friendly staff and quality food.
Definitely would be my go to indian restaurant for my cravings and would highly recommend everyone to check out this restaurant if you happen to be near!
Every curry we had from from this place has been fantastic. I have struggled for finding a good curry house since moving here from the UK. Best curry ever. Full of flavour
We ordered $85 worth of food through menulog to be delivered. It was accepted and the money taken out 9f my PayPal account. I then received a phone call from the restaurant half an hour later telling me they weren't going to deliver as they had too many orders and no longer deliver to my area. They told me too bad I had to try and get my money back from menulog which isn't assured as menulog are no saying they can't confirm with the restaurant. The man I spoke to was rude and didn't care. Hopefully I can get refunded through PayPal.
With all the positive reviews, we were keen to try however we were very disappointed. The butter chicken sauce was extremely sweet and the chicken pieces were massive meaning it was over cooked and super tough. The malai kofta wasn’t edible as the flavour was so overpowering- it was almost like they accidentally poured the whole coriander jar in it. Garlic naan had no garlic on it at all and the onion baiji was soft and not crispy. Overall, quite disappointed.
Best and most authentic around, cheesy naan is perfect, Korma done with large pieces of chicken beautifully, Madras spiced so well, samosa done authentic vegi, as well as a very tasty chicken style really worth a try. A big huge thumbs up for this place. Bravo to the owner, well done it shows you care
Over from QLD for the holidays. My daughter took my husband and I there for dinner and we were blown away! Food was delicious. Fast and excellent service. Staff were so friendly, helpful and professional.
Please please come and open a place in SE QLD ;) no way we could have finished it all so looking forward to lunch too now. Will be back before we leave.
Recommended by a friend and they did not disappoint! Service was great and food came out fresh and hot. All curries we tried were delicious and I'd highly recommend the butter chicken, especially for children, and the masala dhal. The sauces that came with the pappadum were homemade and tasted amazing too.
This is a quaint and cosy little food kitchen, but the cooking is a masterclass and absolutely to die for. There is no better indian restaurant in Perth, and that's a fact.
The dishes are exploding with taste, and rich, full-bodied flavours that compliment each other in all the right ways. I've also never had a better pakora in my life.
I've been here twice now and I will be visiting regularly from now on. Cannot recommend this place enough!
Beautiful flavors, all dishes chalked full of goodness (not just sauce), everything tastes lovingly crafted and the flavors are full and balanced. One of the best! Definitely returning!
We tried place based on it’s many five star reviews and of course the catchy name. The food was decent, but not exceptional. The Naan bread was dry. It also seemed a bit pricey. Staff was friendly. Will definitely try a few other Indian restaurants before we go back.
Had a Ceylonese Korma for the first time and it was amazing, so creamy and not too hot, now my fave main from Tartan Spice, thanks!
Great food great flavours and freindly staff highly recommend
