I often love a good sushi train. TAO's is a chain so i won't talk about their chain as a review, only this particular shop.

The service was warm and friendly. Straight into a chair, time to review the menu and order drinks. I ordered a cocktail from the bar and received a bottle apple cider.

The sushi train had the usual choices of sushi. Tuna, chicken and beef rolled around the eating area. There were a few other choices but not really much else. The sushi was good.

The desert i had was a lemon meringue pie. The meringue was soft and stringy. The lemon cut was more of a cheesecake.

Food was ok. Not bad, not great. Atmosphere was good. Service was excellent.
It's a westernised flavour lacking version of oriental foods. Better than many others.
Price is pretty good for Perth.

Tao Joondalup could not serve Japanese cuisine as pictured in their menu. The surf no turf is a rice free option but it contained rice. The beef and Salmon tataki were swimming in a fluid which did not resemble anything as described in the menu. The beef was topped with chopped raw onions which smelt off. The Siam Noodles chicken tasted suspicious and we ended up with gastro that night. Whitford Tao is far better as they deliver picture identical meals as their menu.see photos attached. $90 with entertainment card and still I felt ripped off.it was disgusting.when we complained about the raw onions on the tuna tataki, I was told it was garlic then it returned plain and bare.see both photos.vietnamese cook had her own take on Japanese food it was very wrong.

Over priced and awful food. Service was pretty bad as well. Felt we were an inconvenience and ended up going to the counter to order as all my efforts have them come to the table were ignored. The thai salads we ordered were awful. Drowning in oil and dressing it was inedible. Will not coming back.

Way too salty chicken katsu curry? And last time I came in it was full of children blocking the entrance, waited 15min for six pieces of katsu roll

Place has gone downhill - last night's meal very below average- thick doughy oily batter on the tempura veg, beef teriyaki was chewy, grey and tastless, very thin salty sauce. Rice was dry, tasted like it had been microwaved and a bit odd. Even the side salad on plate was dry, like it was yesterday's. Daughters Com Xao Satay chicken was OK,

Great sushi. Service normally good, but sometimes thought it could do with more (only sometimes). Give the tuna and salmon a go.

My partner and I have only been to this restaurant twice, and both times we’ve been sat for longer than 30 minutes waiting for someone to serve us, both times we’ve had to ask a server to serve us. The food is lovely and it’s decorated great, but your servers need to really pay attention to who is seated and who needs to have their order taken after about 10 minutes after they’re seated, not 40-30 minutes. To also add, your tables are sticky, I’m not sure if they’re supposed to be like that, but my hands and my phone was sticking to the table and it was annoying, uncomfortable.

Been past this place so many times and finally decided to have dinner here. It did not disappoint at all.

Sushi train running in the middle of the resturant if that's what your after, but we went for the meals.

The wife got the Thai chicken salad and her words 10/10 like eating it in Thailand.

I got the Pho and it was amazing! Great broth and went down a treat. Will definitely be back again.

I think their standards have dropped. Was excited to try the Bún bò Huế but ended up getting disappointed. The soup didn't pack as much flavour and depth, was quite watered down. The beef slices came from cheap cuts with a lot of fiber which made it very chewy and rubber. The only positive was the large serving but that didn't help as the meal wasn't enjoyable and I couldn't push myself to finish despite my big appetite.

Food is good, definitely give them a shot if you have not been before.only issue i had was the take away rice portion is so so small.would've been nice if i was asked if id like a couple servings as to be enough for the curry.most places you ask for rice it will be same size as the curry container

We ordered our meals and Drinks, after 55 mins the waiter came and asked if we enjoyed our meals to which we replied that it hadn't come out yet. A few minutes after he came back and asked if we still wanted our meals. To which we asked why no reason was given so we Left.
WE WILL NEVER GO BACK TO TAO CAFE
AGAIN DISGUSTING!

Wow the Sushi train is so expensive. $11 for two small crumbed prawns and a bit of rice, or a small piece of stale carrot cake! The chicken in my sushi was very poor quality and you could taste it had been microwaved. Service was very slow, except when it came time to pay then they rush around adding up your plates. Not a fan - far better places to eat at for sure.
