South Street Ale House

Have been several times with my family and every time has been wonderful.
The food is fresh and delicious (highly recommend the chilli mussels). The staff are friendly. And it's great to know that the owners are very involved and passionate in there family run business.
I would recommend this place to anyone looking for great food, drinks and service.

The Ale house is a good local bar in Hilton with great choices of beer and the food is cheap compared to other bars. They have steak sandwich and chips for only $10 and its definitely worth the value. The place is also clean and modern.

Food was very average in the restaurant but still charged at restaurant prices. The fish and chips was awful, cheap fish and extremely oily. I couldn't eat it. No salad. No flavour. My family had chicken parmigana and the barramundi with what were supposed to be roast potatoes but were in fact fried wedges. Both reported as very average also. On the upside, the service was great and atmosphere not too bad. Not great enough to make us go back. We spent close to $100 and I came home and ate toast.

Overpriced and poor quality and quantity. Fish and chips were oily and lacked flavour. Chicken parmigiana had flavour but was small (not at lot of chips). "Roast potatoes" were actually fried, there are much better places to eat for less.

Average priced but the food's good service is excellent all around not a bad place to go for dinner

Very friendly. Good food. Staff eager to please. First time I have been greeted on entering, and farewelled on leaving in a pub. Relaxed lunch venue.

The premises isn't fancy, but we really enjoyed our meals here. The staff are good. The prices are good too.
