This hospital is the worst I have ever been to, we got no help what so ever and we were given a sandwitch and told to leave, what a joke

I was severely sexually assaulted in the ed of this hospital in 2009, after i was drugged unconscious.
Some of this hospitals staff from back then took advantage of me at a time when I was vulnerable. Shame on them!

Shocking experience, nursing staff extremely rude and short. My daughter who was unwell was left to lie in an ER bed for over 8 hours awaiting a bed.

Awful experience with the billing team and a lady called Kay!

I went to the emergency department because I had Dengue Fever. Since I had only recently obtained permanent residency, I didn't have a Medicare card yet, although I had an application in progress. Although I showed them a copy of my permanent residency visa, they asked me to sign an overseas visitor form since I didn't have a Medicare card or number yet. I was told that this was the only other option available.

The day after my hospital visit, I received a call from someone named Kay regarding my unpaid bill of $600. However, I was still in bed with a high fever, and I found it inappropriate to receive such a call at that time. So, I requested Kay to call me back later as I was still very unwell.

When I contacted Medicare to inquire about how to receive reimbursement without my Medicare card, I was advised not to pay the hospital bill. This was because, after sharing the item number on my hospital invoice, Medicare said I had been falsely classified as an overseas visitor. I was told to request that the hospital correct the item number before making any payments.

Now try to explain that to the billing ‘experts’ at Sir Charles…

The billing team repeatedly asked me to provide a reference number for my Medicare application which Medicare expressively explained to me on the phone and in the branch they no longer provide, and an eligibility letter was not a quick fix either as it takes about the same time as receiving the medicare card/number itself.
The billing team kept treating me as if I already had a card in the past and could simply obtain a reference for that, they did not want to hear that I have never had Medicare, ever.

Medicare stated that a copy of my permanent residency status should have been sufficient to prove my residency status, however apparently, that did not make sense to the billing team of Sir Charles Gardener Hospital.

After a few months of trying to sort out the billing issue with St. Charles, Medicare offered to expedite my application and save me from further hassle with Sir Charles’ team of billing ‘experts’. Medicare also clarified that demanding payment for an invoice without stating the correct details is illegal.

It's ironic how uninformed the billing team at Sir Charles is but furthermore how stubborn. They seem too bored of themselves to update the outdated procedures that have been causing unnecessary hassle and stress, likely not just to me. I hope they eventually open themselves to the possibility that they are wrong in this situation and educate themselves on this matter.

The issue started in June, and even now, I'm still receiving emails to continue arguing with me. However, instead of doing so, you should take responsibility and start owning up to the same level as the amazing nurses and doctors your hospital has.

Cannot thank everyone at SCGH enough for the care and compassion received last month. A special thanks to the nursing staff in G62 Cardiothoracic Ward for looking after me, post open heart surgery, you are all amazing caregivers.

Very busy emergency department but very well managed.
Staff were very professional.
I had a fractured ankle and was seen by a doctor fairly promptly. Then offered food and drink to take with medication they gave me.
Then quite a bit of wait for x-ray and physio but eventually doctor came with results.
Then more waiting time to see physio but Physio was very, very good at explaining how to move with moonboot and crutches.
Overall, long waiting but worth it.
Thank you to all staff who looked after me.

Parking was readily available and pretty close to the hospital. No staff present at admissions when we arrived at 5.30pm but security guard was very helpful and guided us to our ward. Hospital room was clean modern as you'd expect

Spent a bit of time at Immunology for desensitisation. What an excellent service. Staff were so professional, knowledgeable and kind. It's good to know you're in good hands when it matters most.

These Dr’s don’t honour the call times they schedule.
I’ve chased them up 3 times rescheduling for months down the track on their behalf and they never follow up.
Super slack and very disappointing. Still waiting.
If you can’t trust them to keep a phone appointment, how can you trust them to operate on you.

I've been all over this place, from lung, endocrinology, heamatology and podiatry. The staff have always been excellent to me.
Recently had the podiatry experience, wow they don't mess around. Very professional and kind, listened to my concerns. Vascular surgeons, anisthesiologists and the short stay unit were my carers this week. Again exceptional staff, can't thank them all enough, oh can't forget the unit you go to immediately after surgery (yet I totally forgot the name) the staff there went above and beyond.

Thank you all

Went to Sir Charles Gardner hospital by ambulance on 3 separate occasions with leg pain, was given mild pain relief and then told not to come back. Shortly after I needed an ambulance which took me to RPH only to be told I had Cancer. Well done RPH.

Admitted patient, made to fast and wait 52hrs before any treatment, consistent lies from nurses re any form of a plan.
Would rather die on a sidewalk than be here again.

Had to take my 86 yr old father with dementia down yesterday cos he was unable to walk and felt off. We were assessed by triage and taken straight through. He was kept in overnight for observations and we got answers the next day (existing condition we need to manage differently) thankfully. My dad normally resides remotely and his wife was very happy with the thorough checking.
Much love to all the help we had last night, Jnr Doc Hamish, Nurse Lexi in ED, and then on ward, snr nurse Chris and Jnr nurse George and many more I don't know the names of. Forever grateful, thanks for doing what u do?

The worst hospital by far, they ripped my partners cannula out and the needle snapped. Didn’t even do the tests that needed to be done. I would stay well clear of Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital
