Shumi Shop

I drove across Perth to intentionally visit the store, looking for a gift for my sons birthday. I arrived in 15 minutes before closing. The staff member at the counter was talking to a couple of customers about weekend plans, so I just looked around the store myself for what looked familiar and what my son might like.
Anime is a whole world of its own, and given it is in another language, it’s quite hard for those who are not in the no, to quickly navigate. I went to the counter with over $200 worth of items and proceeded to ask the staff member if they had Anything else, they could recommend about a specific character which his reply was. “ what we have is out on the floor on display. ” I said I understood this, but is there anything cool he could recommend for a 16-year-old, and he stared at me and repeated again “what we have his out on the floor on display” - I looked back across the store and given everything was in another language. I look back at him and said is there a certain section this would be in and he said for a third time “ what we have is out on the floor on display”

- I paid for the $200 + for the items I had and left the store with my receipt time, stamped as still being before closing time, ……

I had not come to the store to ruin the stuff in his day, or to hold him back from their fun weekend. Plans, I I had just finally got access to the money I needed to buy my son birthday gift, which before the next day, and I was just trying to make it special for him.
As someone who works in as public relations manager with ASX 50 companies - I think I am in a position to suggest that this kind of customer service is not conducive to the longevity of a business and that talking down to your customers in all other businesses would be deemed a CLM (career limiting move)

Staff should not have to be training basic, decency and manners.

(01/10/23 11am) Rang up to see somthing about a preorder & the guy who was very stuck up said "look on your email"
i then asked if its in yet & he says "no we cant see if its in" so then i ask if you can see my preorders (which you can) he replies with "no, we cant do that"
so i then said that you can look it up (because you literally can) which he says "you cant" 1 minute later hes reading my preorder list.thought you cant?
Now im supposedly getting a call from him very soon.still haven't gotten a call

The price for a specific Gundam model kit was better at Shumi than anywhere else on the internet I looked. Including eBay, Amazon and other hobby and anime shops. The staff were also extremely accommodating of my particular shipping arrangements, and very responsive. Fantastic customer service.

I rly love going here and the ppl who work here r so nice i wish there was a tip jar so i could tip them hehe

Found what I was chasing from these guys online, after ordering it originally from Madman to wait 2 weeks with no update and then told it was out of stock and a refund would be processed.

Shumi however had it posted same day! It’s arrived to me in QLD within 1 week packed beautifully and carefully <3 absolutely will purchase from again

I ordered a plush toy that was shipped squashed into a box 2/3 the size of it. Really lazy and unprofessional packaging in order to cut costs. The item is undamaged and arrived quickly but I still would have preferred more care taken. I personally won't be ordering again from here.

Great variety of figures and merchandise! Shumishop team are always so helpful and very knowledgeable if you’re here to pickup some things for someone else I recommend asking them for advice. Or anime/manga vets alike will find something to like here. Been coming for over a year for their figures wish I’d come sooner!

Bought 2 Pop-up Parade figures (Naofumi & Raphtalia) from them, one online and one in-store. Shipping to Perth was fast (since they had a local store) and well-packed. Found out they had a local store and store pick-up was also a breeze for the other figure. Their prices are among the lowest online for official anime figures from my research. What more could you want? Highly recommended.

Although the shop was very small and there was a less products available, the staff was very friendly and the service was amazing

Can't say enough positive about this store. Staff always happy to help and from my experience happy in general. Stock is amazing. The physical shop itself is very visually pleasing. Pick up their phones, reply to their facebook messages and even emails. If you're an anime model kit/statue collector especially this is the store for you.

So far I have no issue shopping with them, everything comes in good condition and prices are reasonable.

They also have a nice range of merchandise and mangas to pick from.

In store they showed me something cool they'd just gotten and hadn't even put out on the floor yet for my favourite character that I was able to buy. I also bought a figure online and it shipped and arrived a day after it shipped, amazing!

To whoever is reading this, I would say I recommend purchasing items from this store! Their prices are admittedly a little on the higher end than some other figure retailers in Australia. But, when I approached them with a competitor's price they actually provided me a discount! Something that retailers do not typically do anymore. I honestly appreciated this gesture alot.

As a result, I ended up buying two from them! Haha! (Chiyo 1/4 bunny and Mamako 1/4 bunny)

To be honest, I chose to shop here due to wanting to purchase from different figure retailers to support smaller businesses in Australia to try them out. So I'm glad I found another place to shop at!

Another thing I do appreciate is their response time to queries. Good communication is highly valued especially with figure purchases!

Hands down the best store of this kind in Perth.
