Shadow Wine Bar reviews
73Had a delicious dinner at shadow wine bar. Partner and I shared the mushroom arancini and then both had the pesto gnocchi. Both were ridiculously tasty. Partner ended the night with the pear tarte tartin and the bit that I managed to nick was also very good. Selection of wines was, as always, delicious. My only regret was that I drove in. We’ll be back soon!
While this restaurant is called a wine bar, for us it was the food that was the standout feature. Efficient and knowledgeable staff, good service with an interesting menu. The food was great, well presented and served. We agreed that this was one of the best meals and dining experiences we have had for a while.
Thank you so much for an amazing night of beautiful food, great wine and perfect service by Kealan
Nice but I was under welmed with the food and what you get for the price. $230 for two people and the food - average hhhhmmm disappointed to say the least
Our food and cocktails were lovely, service was great! The crunchy potatoes we ordered as a side were forgotten and came later than our main which wouldn’t have been an issue really except they were not worth the wait. They were just boring! Really needed some seasoning etc and since the rest of the meal was so great, they were pretty disappointing. Dessert menu was pretty limited so we opted for somewhere else for dessert. Would come back though:)
Delicious food, amazing wine, high quality service. Looking forward to visit this restaurant again.
The wonderful atmosphere of this gorgeous little wine bar is captivating, after an evening tucked into the back booth talking over a bottle of white, I am not sure how i will ever enjoy any other wine bar.
I do look forward to returning very soon to discover if the dishes that i witnessed leaving the kitchens are as delectable as they appeared.
We had an outstanding experience at Shadow Wine Bar. The food, service and ambience was faultless. Moody and airy with well spaced tables gives a sense of privacy. Impressive wine list with some interesting but well matched inclusions. The crispy potatoes are a must!
We are regular diners at Shadow because it ticks all the boxes for us. Lovely ambience, attentive staff, terrific food and fantastic wine list. We have never been disappointed and will return soon!
I just read some other highly critical reviews which are completely out of wack with reality. No idea what was going on there but you should ignore them.
I give one Star for waiter's good advice for type of wine.but the food shocking.crackers and dip, raw mince with minimum taste added, bake beans and dry duck, coles mixed salad with a little dressing, fish/carp and lemon, hasel nut coco moose that tasted like milo and yoghurt.extremely poor food for chef's special $75 per person.sorry wont be back.
I was expecting more technique or wow factor from the menu. We chose the chef menu and it was pretty basic for the price. Good flavour but nothing special.
Overall Shadow winebar was a fantastic place to celebrate any occasion. My favourite was the gnocchi and duck dish. Octopus was very chewy and can’t really bite easily. Service wise I guess it can be improved better. The man handling our table was great. But I understand that sometimes other waitstaff will serve us to cover, which there was no consistency. Even if it’s not your section, I guess consistency is very important. We will definitely come back!
As always, our lunch was a lovely experience. Delightful, charming staff and excellent food in a warm environment.
Celebrated our daughters 30th birthday. Food, wine and service could not have been better, fantastic night. Thank you
Overrated.
Had the dugstation which was 5 shared courses. Veal tartar on bread, 1 scampi each, 2 beetroot bulbs, some fish, and pear tarte tatin. Taste was nothing special if not below ordinary.
Big wine selection.
It's was crazy windy inside.
Ladies make sure to bring a jacket and eye drops if you have sensitive eyes.
Overall we spend $330 and weren't impressed.
I'm glad we had a pre dinner snack otherwise I would have left hungry.
We had a wonderful evening, with extremely helpful and friendly staff, faultless food, and amazing wine. We will definitely be back. Thank you.
Lovely atmosphere and devine food. I found the service very friendly and professional. Cocktails were also perfect. Highly recommend to friends
Nice food and extensive wine list. Food portions were a bit small for my QLD liking. Great service.
Fantastic staff; lovely food; great lighting, music and atmosphere. A completely finessed dining experience.
We brought some friends this time. They were impressed. To Rachael for great help with the wines and Nate for the best table service we thank you. We have eaten here several times now and continue to be impressed. The food is lovely and the wine list evolves with each visit. Keep up the fantastic work. See you again very soon.
