Drillers offsider course was amazing experience! We had food and accomodation with transport from Butler provided.

Instructor Aaron is good man with lot of knowledge after his 30 years in the industry which helps you to decide which way you want to go in resources sector.
Not that we only learned what skills we need but we also had fun playing games after our dinner!

I did the Introduction to Drilling course that Redfield Resources offers over the 2/12/20-5/12/20 and it's probably one of the best and most hands on courses I have ever done. Our instructor was Aaron (Gorby) who was very knowledgeable and has an extensive background in all areas of drilling. We were in a small group of 4 people so there was plenty of opportunity for each individual person to ask questions and get hands on experience.
The course was held on a property in Redfield Park about an hour or so north of Perth where there was accommodation and food provided, a classroom for all the theory work, and a diamond drill rig on site for the hands on stuff. Not only did the course cover diamond drilling but RC drilling as well as the differences between working on the surface and underground. Aaron had even set up a station to simulate the underground side of things.
Each of us on the course had the opportunity to get hands on every day and play the roll of a driller offsider.
I would highly reccomend this course to ANYBODY who is looking to begin a career in drilling. It was incredibly informative and you even learn about different drilling companies that are around and the different kind of work each may offer.

Completed the Intro to Drilling course. What a fantastic course run over 3 days days with an experienced trainer Aaron. From start to finish Aaron went through every aspect of driller offsiding. Would recommend to anyone looking to get into drilling.

I have just completed the introduction to drilling course and that was best course I have ever attended. The trainer, Aaron is very professional and has wealth of knowledge and experience in drilling and he gave me so much information about drilling which I didn't know much about. Now I have better understanding of drilling and driller offsider work. I would highly recommend this course to anyone who wants to start their career in drilling.

I could not recommend this course enough for anyone, either interested, curious or committed to getting into the drilling industry. Aaron the instructor is an absolute wealth of knowledge in the industry and not only knows everything there is to know about drilling (because he’s done it,) but also is an elite trainer in the respect that any and all concepts both simple and high level. He is able to break down and teach seamlessly to everyone. No question is too silly to ask and he’s more than happy to take the time with you and make sure your all across the board before moving on. Also he’s just a bloody good too bloke too.
You’ll get all the essential theory components but most importantly, get the hands on nitty gritty experience of what drilling and drilling off siding really is. You’ll get sweaty, dirty, covered in grease, lifting heavy rods and you’ll find out real quick if drilling is for you, if it is, you’ll be chomping at the bit to get into the industry. If not that’s no dramas, now you’ll have a solid understanding of what the industry really is like.
The amenities supplied when on site are all super clean and fantastic, foods great too. All in all this course is a must for anyone wanting to get into the drilling industry. The experience is invaluable and I’d recommend to anyone that interested.

Wow wow wow, what an absolutely amazing course for the introduction to mining. I've been to lots of courses but this course tops the lot. This course shows you what to really expect in real life in the drilling industry with plenty of hands on experience involving rod changes, core sampling, JHA (job hazard analasis), SAFETY, machinery isolation tag procedures, general house keeping around the rig to name a few. Aaron the facilitator has a wealth of knowledge in surface drilling, underground and RC drilling that is absolutely unbelievable he also has a real gift in being able to share, teach, encourage and connect with every student that was attending the course. I for one, now know, having done this amazing course, which avenue I'll be heading down in my new mining career. Thaaaank You Aaron and Redfield, Cheers Simon

Redfields training course is excellent, structured by Aaron who is a top bloke and patient trainer with a plethora of knowledge at your disposal. You will come out of the course with an in depth understanding of an offsiding role laying the foundation for a career in drilling.

I have just completed the Intro to Drilling course (3 days) and couldn't be more happy. Aaron (the trainer) has a wealth of knowledge, experience and a great way to make the course interesting, engaging and really fun. There was a fair bit of classroom time for theory but most of the time was spent on full on, real life, practical components. Accommodation, food and overall experience was great.
Now I have a very good outlook on what drilling is about, what it takes to get into the industry and most of all, what it means to be a driller offsider. Do the course if you consider getting into the industry. It will give you a very good understanding of whether or not you should pursue this career.

Drilling course was exceptional, accommodation, food and trainer knowledge were all really on point. Resources department also extremely helpful and effective in sourcing work.

Amazing course that not just outlines drillers offsiders, but a combination of life on a rig, how FIFO (fly in fly out) works/operates, the different companies that conduct drilling within Western Australia and safety is of the up most important.

Would 10/10 recommend this not just to people interested in being a offsider, but to anyonein general. Outstanding course
