My very first pork knuckle- bloody awesome and Wife's lamb rack was sensational- great dining experience

Recycling and upcycling very evident in benches tables chairs etc Quite small venue but popular with many. Food was good and staff very friendly

Went to drop in for a beer and a bite to eat and was told no tables as they had turned into a restaurant and now needed to book a table. This is quite hard to do as they spent the last two days closed. And to be honest I would not go back as the lady who spoke to us was very rude and unwelcoming sorry butbyou have lost my vote will never be back.

Cozy bar with character that has good selection of wines. Serves a limited variety of entree/snack. Good dip trio and chirizo.

Dropped in for a sneaky date away from the kids and after a long day driving from Perth, came through the doors not even greeted with a hello and told there were no tables in or outside, we mentioned that we just wanted a glass of wine (80% of the place was standing up drinking) and were offered nothing not even a later reservation and told again that it was booked out! Really need to work on customer service!

Prawn risotto, great service, tucked away, with nice ambiance in Middleton Beach area. We return every trip.

Very cute little bar. Unfortunately staff was very cranky didn't make us feel comfortable so we didn't stay.sadly

What an unexpected surprise.

We called in unannounced for a quick lunch and found good food and a quiet respite from the weather and tourist influx.

Had Hoisin chicken and a warm vegetable salad, both delicious.

Could be a great place.it got dark on verandah ask to turn lights on.she said it can't be switched on as it runs off sensor back of the pub lol very weird.garlic bread shocking dry and burnt on edges.will not be back.better places around

Great service, fantastic range of wines. We shared a table with a couple we had never met before as the bar was fully booked and had a fantastic night.

Drinks were ok, however terrible service. Rudest bartender I have ever experienced. Many other options in Albany who will actually want you in their premises.

Had to wait outside in the cold for a table but oh wow - was it worth it. Great food and wines - the crispy pork hock was delicious!

Such a beautiful atmosphere. Meals are always lovely and the owner is an absolute gem. You are always made to feel welcome at Rats Bar.

Website says food "brunch to dinner". No food available at 2pm so we didn't stay. Looked pleasant.

Bar tender was far grim friendly. Got the feeling that my family was not welcome with bar really only catering for elite couple's.

Would love to have been able to give a higher rating; unfortunately our enjoyment of our delicious grazing board was tempered by a somewhat unfriendly reception. I had my 6 month old baby with me and my father enquired about the availability of a high chair. The question was answered with a flat, cold no without the staff member even pausing at our table. Otherwise, the food and wine were excellent and the service was a efficient and did warm up a bit over the course of our meal. Just so people know, this place is not child friendly (day or night). I really enjoyed coming to Rats Bar to eat with my husband, but ended up feeling like a bit of an inconvenience when dining with my daughter. It seems that children just don’t mesh with vibe this place is going for.

Delicious, very good service and nice atmosphere
This bar /restaurant has a very diffrent menu from the typical food. Nothing is fried and instead you'll get a selection of great tasting food. We had pumpkin Gnocchi and prwan risotto. I didnt take any pictures but it looked amazing and tasted wonderful.
There is also some good tab beer a very good selection of drinks and wine.
The service was super friendly, attentiv and efficient. Even though the place was quite full and every one ordered food there was no long waiting times.
You should definitly go there!:)

Nice cozy bar with lots of choices of drinks wines and beers. We had 3 dips of menu and they tasted great. Comfy chairs. Good toilets. Very busy place. Not to noisy. Interesting name ask the bar man how it came about.
