Pet City Wanneroo

I am absolutely appalled by the condition and treatment of animals at this store. Most specifically their fish, axolotls and rodents. When approaching the guy who manages the fish/aquatic section of the store 'Gary' about my concerns of the conditions of some of their axolotls I was told that I had no idea what I was talking about and he knew what he was doing because he has '50 years experience'. My concerns weren't even considered and he then went on to add salt to the aquarium which I advised is actually really bad for axolotls over prolonged periods of time. This is the same store that had them in appalling housing conditions until a few months ago. Previously they weren't fed right, housed on gravel with bright lights and no hides, which are all terrible things for the health of Axolotls. After this heartbreaking interaction, looking through their fish selection it was full of obviously sick fish in every tank. I also then went on to witness another employee picking up mice by the ends of their tails, this is like picking a mouse up by the spine and can cause them severe injury but apparently this is safe common practice in their store, they also house their mice and rats on sawdust and recommend this as the proper bedding for them which actually causes a lot of respiratory issues in both species. I will never purchase from this store again and I recommend you don't either. Especially if you're looking at a new aquatic pet, try somewhere else like PetCity Joondalup.

Gaz was wonderful in assisting us with getting our daughter's first pet fish! He was super helpful and gave us lots of advice

Great selection of animal accessories, toys, food, beds and a wide variety of animals! Friendly staff full of knowledge and easy to talk to.

Very good product range, had a variety of stock
bit disappointed with the care of the beardies though.look awfully too young and using sand which is a dangerous substrate for them but nether less had a large section of reptile products which was helpful

The employee's attitudes leave alot to be desired, not willing to go the extra just to be helpful and do what they get paid for.

Always friendly and helpful. Product knowledge is great. More than happy to make this my regular pet store.

Good store good stock.was helped setup a pond and tropical tank been in multiple times a day asking questions geting water tested etc and never been let down waiting for it to open now as my son wants a few my tropicals ;)
