Perth Wood School

The 'Furniture Finishing Workshop' was less than informative, rather than demonstrations of all that is listed on their Website, we listened to lengthy stories of David's experiences. This was a total waste of money and time!

Highly recommend Perth Wood School- very passionate woodworkers in an awesome setting. Very welcoming, great teachers and a friendly environment to learn. Will definitely be visiting for another course! Thanks David and team.

Perth Wood School is great. Quality tuition on technique, unbiased product advice, and good safety tips. I have done a couple of courses and really enjoyed them. I intend to do some more. Also had an ancient jarrah desk repaired and modified at PWS. Quality work.

These guys are awesome and really know everything there is to know about wood and woodworking and the classes are great fun. The teaching is very hands-on and worth every cent!

You can watch YouTube as much as you like but if you want to learn how to woodwork, with quality materials that are going to impress and last a lifetime, you cannot choose a better place to learn.

My dad and I made my dining table with Dave and Kat at Perth Wood School in late December 2019. It is a custom designed 3x1 meter french oak table with metal fabricated legs. The team at Perth Wood School were fantastic throughout offering great advice and guidance. The atmosphere Dave has created at the school is friendly and inclusive, with many exciting projects coming together in one great space. Thanks so much for making this such a pleasurable experience, the finished product is better than I’d hoped for, we would definitely recommend.

David and his team have a clear passion for wood working and wealth of knowledge. Would highly recommend these courses to anyone with an interest in learning about wood work.

I have recently completed a beginner's course with Dave, Tracey and Kat. It was fantastic! Dave was previously a high school teacher, so the lessons are really well structured which makes it easy to learn and very safe. I have never done wood work before am I felt really comfortable performing all the tasks and asking questions. I really enjoyed the classes and learnt a lot of really valuable information. I would highly recommend Perth Wood School!

I have done a few workshops here. Staff are helpful and friendly. I have learned heaps and certainly will be doing more.

Tracey and Dave are really patient and thorough teachers! I completed their intro course and then build a book case with their assistance. Tracey led me through the book case and was there with practical advice and calm direction the whole way. It might seem expensive, but you are getting a lot for your money (access to the tools as well as all their experience and know how.). Highly recommend for anyone interested in exploring a new hobby!

Can't recommend David & Tracey at Perth Wood School enough! They have assisted me in several projects that enhanced my basic woodworking skills into higher level skills while happily teaching me tricks of the trade. Their equipment and facilities are first rate & they promote a happy yet safe place to enjoy a few hours on a hobby I love.

Thank you David and Tracey for the wonderful Beginners Course that I recently completed. Wood working is something that has always interested me and now thanks to Perth Wood School I have the confidence to pursue my dream.

Attended a router workshop last night, thoroughly enjoyed and learned many things. This really is a place where wood and working with it is appreciated as a skilful craft. Will be back for their public sessions and the odd workshop. Highly recommend!
