Odyssea City Beach reviews
79 From the main dishes we ordered the ScotchFillet and Salmon. Both tasty but the Salmon even more.
Highly recommend the Coconut Dome from desserts list.
Overall good food and ambiance, although we had to wait to have the table cleared for coffee order!
Will return again.
Came here to celebrate my mums birthday and it was great! Fantastic view and everyone really loved their food. The staff were also attentive and went the extra mile to make my mum feel special.
Bang average.
Service was lacklustre at best, no real interest in taking orders, catching attention or anything but waiting for the shift to end. Seated and waited 20 minutes for a drink order to be taken, we could have used a large flag to get the staff attention to get the food on the go.
Meals were also average, steak was not cooked very well and for $49 per serving was not a great cut of meat. Kangaroo was saved by the additional flavours used in the dish.
We have had amazing meals here in the past but this would definitely pout us off going back anytime soon.
Location, views etc can’t be beaten. Staff are friendly, venue is well presented. And that’s where it stops. Waited 45 mins today (was in process of getting up and leaving as it arrived) for mains (fish (one piece) n chips). The table next to us were 2 people in line ahead at order time and literally were being served their dessert as we got mains. Drinks were quick. Food serves are small, ok quality for the price but to be expected given location. We were a table of two. Overall, It’s a very noisy chaotic place so if you’re looking for romantic date vibes this isn’t for you (no fault of the venue just very large crowds).
Visited Odyssey for lunch today I had the salmon and it was over cooked. The other 2 meals were quite good, however the coffee was weak and I even had a latte 3/4 full. The other 2 coffees were sour like the milk was off. Manager took 1 coffee off the Bill I don’t think we will be back
This restaurant is one of my regulars on rotation (lovely setting, good location) and there are many things to love (great cocktails, yummy entrees and mains), but I feel compelled to finally write a review because there is are one or two things that are consistently disappointing each and every time that we dine here.
Let's start with desserts.
The description rarely resembles what is served on the plate. Take for instance the supposed chocolate brownie that is currently on the menu (see previous review that has the picture of the chocolate 'bar' with shards of chocolate inserted vertically). Not only does it not taste like a chocolate brownie, but the base was so hard that it shot off my plate when I tried to break it with my spoon! The ratio of the the chocolate mousse (that covers the 'supposed' brownie) is overwhelming, making it more of a creamy mousse log rather than a brownie with mousse.
Hint: the ingredient mentioned first on the description of the dish should be the MAIN or KEY ingredient in that dish. In this instance, my dish only had traces of a 'brownie'.
Often, the desserts are over-complicated and simply lose the essence of what they should be. It would be really nice to have at least one classic dessert on the menu as an option.rather than all just being reinvented and overly elaborate versions that don't hit the mark.
Overcomplicated seems to be the theme.
Generally speaking, the entrees and mains are usually pretty good.but I have noticed that sometimes, the flavours in some of the mains are a little over the top. It feels like there's a wannabe MasterChef contestant in the kitchen doing a mystery box rather than a well trained chef who pairs beautiful flavours and exercises constraint. My hope is that they start understanding that less, is more!
I also don't appreciate getting served soft drinks or fruit juices that are filled to the brim with ice before the measly 100ml of liquid is poured into the glass. It feels like you're trying to skimp on the serving size.a small thing in scheme of things, but it doesn't get unnoticed!
Finally, the service seems to be a little hit and miss. Never, have I ever, heard anyone being asked how they would like their fish cooked.yet one of the patrons at our table did! Having taken a moment to supress our giggles, the answer was 'perfectly'. There were times when the waitress was nowhere to be seen, and we were short cutlery at the table.
The manager was present on the floor.so that was good to see. He helped the staff clear tables which reflects well on him.
Will we keep on dining here? Yes.because the good outweighs the bad. But I do sincerely hope that the feedback strikes a chord and helps iron out a few of the kinks.
Oh, and by the way.all thee points mentioned above were discussed by all the patrons at our table on the night, so it's not the view of a mere one respondents, rather quite a few.
Honestly super average. Got turned down for inside table when it was freezing and raining outside. And there were seats available.we sat outside and food came out after 40 mins. Cocktails were not on point. And also I didn't like the fact that while we waited tables became open inside and noone thought to invite us inside even though it was extremely windy and raining. Had to send back cocktail as it tasted like cocoa powder and water mixed. Food was really average for so many positive reviews.
Lovely lunch today! Menu is perfect, something for everyone. The food was absolutely wonderful, from preparation to presentation, very pleasing. Will be back definitely!
Cold food and poor management response. Manager argued how much of the meal had been eaten when I raised politely how cold it was, offered only a side or entrees as compensation and then charged $44 still for a barely eaten cold steak and sides. Would have thought the meal heated up, replaced or not charged for, would have been the appropriate customer service response rather than arguing with my wife and I. Will not be recommending this restaurant at all to those we know.
If you’re looking for somewhere with a nice view, this place is it but don’t expect much from the food, it was very disappointing.
We have bine many times there before for breakfast Was Okay but every time I take people there from interstate for Diner Service just Not Good!
I take someone there is last time!
Good views, nice food.cant remember what the ginger beer I had was, but was definitely inferior to Matso's so they need to swap.thatnout for full 5 star experience
Very nice place, with great view and prompt service. Perfect for dinner to enjoy sunset while you sipping on some tasty wine.
Pretty good food. But I don’t understand we are stuck outside in the mornings when it’s got a bloody freezing cold wind! No one could give us an explanation about to as why we couldn’t sit inside out of the wind.
Won't be back in a hurry. Had two flat beers served to me.granted they were out of cans but still. We have been here before and have had flat drinks served to us.
Ordered the scotch fillet medium/rare and it was close to well done. This is the second time in a row I've ordered steak here and it hasn't been cooked correctly.
Service was also quite slow for a half full restaurant.
It's disappointing as it used to be such a great restaurant, they should be providing an exceptional experience with that awesome seaside setting. Pretty typical of Perth hospitality, a bit of a let down.
Excellent venue. Attentive and professional wait staff and all the food we ordered was well presented and delicious. Will definitely be returning.
Great location! Though it was a very busy morning we were seated quickly (we had booked) even though the table set aside for us was not quite ready. Staff were very attentive, food came in good time and was delicious. We will return.
A superb brunch today at a lovely balcony table for 7. Drinks, food and coffees all excellent. The Greek Souffla cake especially delicious. Staff all efficient and courteous. Many thanks, I always enjoy my visits here.
Well done to Odyssea for firstly an extensive drinks menu, followed but delicious food. Entree, mains and desserts all 8 out of 10. Salmon dish 10/10. Our table of 7 was served quickly on a busy Saturday night by a lovely waitress. Definitely will be returning.
A nice place next to the beach to have some treats before or after sun bath. The staffs were helpful. We ordered latte and hot chocolate, fritter and scrambled egg. The food and drinks were good. The price is fair.
