Nishi Japanese Restaurant

Myself and my family went there for my birthday 3 of us and got major food poisoning, when we reported the problem they had no accountability and tried to say we must've had covid. It is a dirty filthy place and should be shut down by the health department, don't put yourself through it completely unprofessional.

Ordered a takeaway salmon teriyaki don and asked for it too be cooked rare. I was delighted to find that it was perfectly cooked. The best salmon teriyaki don I've had.
Very friendly and polite staff.and the owner even took the time to acknowledge and thank me as I was leaving, right in the middle of his tepinyaki performance. Thanks for the great food and service. I'll be back for more.

Nishi has a lovely ambience, friendly staff and great food. A perfect night out with friends.

Great value! The tepanyaki grill is south fun. Our chef was awesome and very skilled. The marbled sirloin beef was melt in the mouth. We'll definitely be back!

This is our favourite Japanese restaurant in Perth. Lovely atmosphere, very comfortable seats and the menu is always delicious and fresh. The service is very quick even when busy. For a real treat, book in for the Tepanyaki and witness real showmanship by Aldi, the Tepanyaki chef, complete with utensil flips, fire tricks and interacting with the audience. Highly recommended for a great night out and quality Japanese food. Also a great place to eat if you have kids.

I would give it 5000 out of 5 if I could. We had the TapanYaki dinner which involves a live show by the chef And your food is cooked live in front of you on the hot plate. The chef Aldi was Absolutely amazing so entertaining, the food was even more amazing, the service by Mary and Indah was as great. Simply the best and the great value and the great night out

Brilliant! Great entertainment, crazy talented chef in both showmanship and cooking. Delicious food, smiles and laughter all night, a must-do!

Tried the tepenyaki as a special treat. The food is freshly and expertly prepared in front of you with some light entertainment provided by the cooking chef. It is a bit on the pricey side but the experience is worth it. Tables for the tepenyaki can sit 10 comfortably or 12 a little tighter. Book early as there are only 2 tables available so you might miss out, even during week nights. There is ample free parking available.

Great Tepanyaki experience. Tepanyaki Chef is excellent. Food is very fresh, tasty, and satiating. WA lobster and beef cooked to perfection. Staff are generally very welcoming and warm.

We are regular customers like the food and the atmosphere but very annoying that you can’t book a standard table online and they don’t have voicemail on the main phone.

I loved the food, very fresh and delicious.
We had the Teppanyaki booking. The chef was very entertaining and that made a very big difference. We had a good laugh with the chef at Nishi. Friends said that they had the Teppanyaki experience at other restaurants, but their chef was robotic and many of them will now be going to Nishi. Some from overseas say that they will definitely visit Nishi when they come to Perth.
I'm North of the city but it's definitely worth the drive.
I can't wait to go back

The sushi was fantastic. The sashimi was exquisite. The cooked food was very delicious! To top it off, the service was very much appreciated and on point with the food. Even our picky 4 y/o loved it. Will come back again.

This place is really let down by the wait staff. The food is very good, but they ask you if you mind what order things come out and then serve you your side salad first regardless, and you have to really work to get any further attention to order a second drink. We had to request multiple times for them to clear plates. We had to ask again for soy sauce for the sashimi. They never refilled the water. We waved someone down to request the dessert menu and when noone came back to take the order, we waved them down yet again with much difficulty. They looked suprised each time. Then they didn't know what was available, but finally took the order and so we waited and waited and waited but nothing came. Yet again, we waved another waiter down (waitstaff consistently avoiding eye contact to the best of their ability) only for the young man who took our original order to finally come back and tell us that what he said was available was actually NOT available. Zero apologies given at any point.

This place costs far too much (we spent ~$70 per head) for this level of service to be acceptable.

Good local place to satisfy my fresh sushi craving.definitely cannot fault the salmon aburi, salmon sashimi and the teriyaki tofu which were all prepared very well.the warm sake was also wonderful, served in an insulated tub in authentic earthenware to keep it warm and beautifully sweet.the garlic prawns however were too deep fried and greasy, it gave me a tummy ache after eating them.the edamame also had a lot of inedible bean husks left in them, which get in the way of eating them properly, a problem I haven't really encountered before when having edamame.the service was alright, I feel some of the staff were a bit young and inexperienced in people interaction which made asking for things a little awkward at times, which is ok everyone has to learn from somewhere.overall it cost $73.40 which too expensive for the amount of food I got in my opinion, but I did enjoy the high quality dishes.

Went here with my partner for my birthday on a Saturday night. Honestly one of the best restaurants in Perth. Waitstaff were very attentive and friendly, and the chef was incredible to watch.

Amazing dining experience from start to finish Never had to hunt down waitstaff to order anything, service was on point. Our Teppanyaki chef Aldi was amazing, entertaining and his food was delicious. Highly recommend

Just an absolutely quick dinner meal tonight with sakura dinner set of sashimi and tepanyaki beef.

Dined at Nishi with 13 adults and 4 kids last night. It was very busy on a Sunday. The teppanyaki was pretty popular with 2 seating sessions. We had set menu and cpuldnt complain. The shasimi were very fresh. The restaurant ambience is pretty nice and the staff were all friendly and nice.

Visited for a friend's birthday where we all had Teppanyaki for dinner. The food was delicious, the steak, chicken, rice and vegetables that I had were amazing! I order my steak medium and it was cooked perfectly. The serving sizes were very generous, I wish I was able to fit in dessert after, but will try that on my next visit! Definitely recommend.
