Both of us ordered a 2 course menu, the vegetable gyoza and the eggplant salad for entrée, beef tenderloin steak ($10 upgrade from sirloin) and barramundi prawn for main.

First impression is the chef does put a nice display of food on a platter, worthy of a photo shoot, very instagramable. But thats when the excitement ends.

I felt like all the food was very MSG salty. So salty it lasts us 3 days to detoxify all the MSG from our bodies. Either the chef already lost the taste sense or he did it on purpose. Why put so many? A little MSG would already make it nice. Feels more chinese than japanese cusine. We already convey the message to the waiter and to relay it to the chef, and apparently it falls on dead ears.

All the sauces taste just been poured from supermarket bottles of sauces, instead of making them from scratch with fresh ingredients. Also the dashi broth tastes like the instant packs that was opened and served straight to the plate.

I would suggest a name change to the owner. Nine x MSG-folds Instant Bistro.

I am wondering why people have to go to Nobu? For the fuss of booking, parking, non-personal service and burn their pockets? I can't get it. This little place is wonderful in parking, service and foods. No fault. Fantastic.

Excellent food and services, do note that portion is small. Nice place for friends to get together.

Lovely little place very intimate and quaint. The food was all excellent as was the service so it made for a very nice relaxing dinner at the end of the week. Will definitely be back.

The food was tastefully presented on the plates and tasted okay. However it was no better than any other Japanese restaurant that charged normal prices. We paid almost $400 for an average meal which worked out at $100 per head and we were still hungry after a 3 course meal. I felt totally ripped off. My wife and I have eaten at restaurants all over the world so we have much experience and this place was certainly a disappointment.

We did the degustation here a few months ago and it was AMAZING!

The decor/setting isn't anything special - you come here for the food!

A delicious fusion of Japanese and European, each course was unique and tasty. Portions were small but perfect in their entirety, we left full and happy.

Great that it's BYO too - you can take your nice wine without being charged the earth.

Can't wait to go again!

Great location and authentic Japanese flavours. Was nice to meet the owner who introduced himself.
For such delicate dishes it was surprising and disappointing that the staff were in such a rush to push us through the courses and get us out the door by the closing time. Presumably driven by staff costs.
Would not happen in Japan.

Went here recently for joint mother's day and birthday celebration. Both quality of the food and standard of service were excellent. Would recommend to anyone looking for quality Japanese food with a creative touch.

Limited choices of food and no ala carte menu and the staff was so confused about the dish that so he gone to ask the chef three times he should have knowledge about the food and it says japanese restaurant but there is nothing nothing japanese item really disappointed

Beautiful delicate Japanese food close to Perth.
We purchased the 5 course degustation. It was generous and tasted delicious.
From the sashimi to the lovely pork and corn broth. Right through to the final dessert we were taken on a lovely culinary journey.
A place to come for special occasions.

Amazing food and fantastic customer service, was so full and satisfied after the omakase. There was not one thing that I didn't like, everything was delicious.:)

Lovely omakase degustation had. Food and sake was top notch, Cosy venue, great ambience. Will be back.

My partner and I came for an anniversary dinner and the food was absolutely delicious. The staff were super friendly and the restaurant was lovely. The only downside was that there was a table near us that was extremely over the top and loud, so that was very irritating. But I can't fault the restaurant for that I definitely recommend nine fine foods!

So we get to try everything! BYO is also a welcome option. Also helps when there is free parking on the road. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

We have been to Nine Fine Food on a number of occasions and have never had a bad experience. The staff are efficient, friendly and very accommodating. The time between courses is never hurried but at the pace of the diners and the food is absolutely delicious. The menu is extensive and caters for most dietary needs. A great place to celebrate birthdays.

Fantastic food! My wife celebrated our wedding anniversary with the 6 course Omasake Set menu. SUPERB. Ample food. Next time, we will try the 5 course, then 4 course.so we get to try everything! BYO is also a welcome option. Also helps when there is free parking on the road. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Absolutely enjoyed dinner here with my partner, the interior is the warm oriental style with lovely lights. We had 4 courses and 3 courses meal. Every dish is so presentable with delicacy. It is just right portion of the meal to us but you'd better find other places if you are looking for bigger portion.

Delicious food, BYO available and lovely atmosphere. Only criticism is that the staff don't recap what the food is as they serve each course.
