Modo Mio

This used to be our go to restaurant at Crown! Not sure what has happened, however it has dropped considerably and is barely an Italian restaurant now.
No pizza available, one main pasta dish, and a tiramisu that was 80% cream!
If you are going to advertise as an Italian restaurant, at least use some Italian flavours!
Disappointing as it has always been a favourite of our family.
We ate at Market & Co the following night and it was a sensational feed and staff were great! The seafood pasta was the best!
Sad that I have to write a negative post, but I cannot recommend!

Always one of our favourites at Crown Perth. Lunch yesterday was one of the best at this fabulous restaurant. Could not fault the food and service. Thank you Modo Mio

Ambiente was good, very calming atmosphere overall.
Service was also good, minus one star for the front desk, quite the wait.
Had the tasting menu, which was underwhelming. Some courses very salty, others way too dry and bland. Tiramisu was not enjoyable.
There is better Restaurants with the same price point right next to it.

The service team were so lovely to us, made our anniversary feel special to us. We don't normally get a chance to go out and enjoy amazing food but today was perfect. Would love to go back again soon

Did a last minute walk-in and glad they had a dinner table for two. We ordered the ravioli, squid ink pasta and pork ribs. I was taken aback the pork ribs were very soft and tender that it didn't taste like pork either! Yum. The ravioli was pretty divine, and squid ink pasta was so so IMO. Worth a try, and service was excellent!

As part of our honeymoon plan, my husband and I wanted to treat ourselves to a dinner with Italian food.
And I confess that I was very resistant because I have many dietary restrictions such as lactose, cheese and shellfish. And the basis of Italian cuisine is basically this.
But I accepted the invitation and we went to Modo Mio – Italian cuisine.
When we mentioned my dietary restrictions, the attendant promptly listened to me and looked for the best dish options for me, for people with dietary restrictions and allergies.
She presented us with the options they had, and another attendant came and confirmed the dietary restrictions I had and the dishes chosen. He left a card on the table that said “Food allergy advice” with more information.
They also noticed my Brazilian accent and asked me if I wanted assistance in Spanish or Brazilian Portuguese. And I said yes.
So, bartender William came, who had the task of going over all the information already made available by the other attendants and making sure that he had understood and that I was at peace with my dish choices. He made himself available if I needed it. He was very helpful and attentive.

Restaurant strengths
The service.the service team is very attentive and efficient;
the dish options/there are foods for people with dietary restrictions. From the starter, main course, drinks and dessert.

Delivered more / surprised
The attendants, knowing that we were on a special occasion, honeymoon, provided us with a presentation of the dessert made with words written in chocolate congratulating us.

Was okay spending 1 and half hour to a ‘’fine dining place … food prices were too overrated, simple dishes that my nonna can easily cook with more flavour and less time … I regret that I have ordered a 18$ Tiramisu that come in a tiny glass… atmosphere was okay, my Australian wife enjoyed it so all good, but me as Italian this place wasn’t nothing too exiting

The meal was simply horrible. The steak was dry and had no flavour at all. Every aspect of this meal was offensive, but nothing was more disrespectful than the price I paid.

Beautiful dining experience with excellent customer service by all the wait staff. The food is also well priced and delicious!

Food drinks and service were all pretty good. I found the decor and atmosphere a bit bland.

The service we received from the time I made the booking all the way through to when we paid our bill and left, was fantastic. The ladies at reception were very helpful with all my booking queries, our waitress and the other floor staff were great at ensuring we were constantly served and we did not once have to put up our hand as there was always someone around to attend to us. This was really one of the best experiences we've had in a long time.

Imagine going to an Italian restaurant and can't get a lasagne, this restaurant is a Asian version of Italian if that's what you like with the price tag.
Not kid friendly either

The menu has changed and is no longer enjoyable. There is little choice, particularly for an Italian style restaurant that should specialise in pasta (also no pizza at all on the menu - which the kids were looking forward to). It was tasteless and overpriced and so disappointing. We won't go back again. Which is a shame as we used to love it!

Overpriced for what it is.
Service was attentive and timely. A shame that our waiter was unsure of the menu and serving sizes and neglected to explain which sauce went with which meal.
Food was beautifully presented. However, the quality and taste was just not there for a $300 meal for 2. Scampi were obviously frozen and floury. Porchetta crackling was subpar and the stuffing was over spiced with too much fennel. Duck fat potatoes had no crisp whatsoever.
The kingfish and beef carpaccio were excellent though, highly recommend them.

We have been eating at Modo Mio for numerous years and always returned because it was great food and ambience. In the past few months, the management has changed, and although they still have a fantastic supervisor in Jacqueline, Bernie and Shae (Previous management) are missed. The restaurant is on a slippery slope of doom. The menu has changed, prices have increased and food quality is declining rapidly. Modo Mio and Crown should take this as a wake up call. Tell me a good italian restaurant that doesn't serve pizza and pasta. Yes, they scrapped the pizza and pasta off the menu. The Christmas menu was $110 and they couldn't cook the food to what they stated. To be fair I would have preferred to eat MacDonalds. Sad from a restaurant we used to love. You have lost these regulars. Wake up to yourself Modo Mio & new management!

Loved everything about this night except the bare table setting. Amazing food, service and value.

Was very much looking forward to enjoying a meal at this restaurant…HOWEVER? L recieved a text message at 11.55 stating it was best for me to come earlier to the restaurant as they were closing the kitchen at 2.00… l was booked for 1.30…. The terms and conditions were not mentioned when l booked! The receptionist seem to believe l should have known this! She did not explain and was rude! My friend and l missed out eating out for Christmas Lunch! We are totally disgusted with the actions of this place!

Starters were really nice, would recommend the ravioli, T-Bone left a lot to be desired. A bit over cooked on the outside leading to it being a little tough and the smoked flavour was a bit over powering.

Entrees were expensive yet tasteless we selected 4 different dishes yet all were average with limited flavor. The waiter kept forgetting what wine we ordered and then spilt wine over the glasses from poor pouring. We ordered additional sides with the mains and the potatoes came out burnt as totally black. We sent them back and then we got cold potatoes, these were sent back and the same potatoes came back… they just microwaved them. Total bill was 570 dollars of poor food and service. We will never go back
