DISAPPOINTING! Went to GardenCity MM couple of times and they kept telling me they will get my hair color the color I wanted next time. Stopped going here for a while, then decided to give them another try. Called to make an appointment, They said they need $50 deposit for new customers, didn't have my card on me and said I will call back. Called back and they asked for $100 deposit and I said I was told $50 yesterday, she said no now its $100. Very rude. Never going here again.

STAY AWAY from this hairdresser. Their billing practices are unethical and illegal. They quote different prices to what you're actually charged. When I raised it with them they had zero interest in resolving the issue. I'll be reporting them to the ACCC.

Went here for a blowdry. My hair was very well-done. Paid a premium - hence the 4 stars as it felt like a high price.

I came in today to make an appointment and witnessed some horrible practices. One girl was getting bullied by the rest of the staff and this young employee for visibly upset. It was disgusting. This shouldn’t happen in any workplace. I’m not supporting any business that condones or allows this to happen. Say no to bullying.

Worse experienced I ever had at Maurice Mead Garden City, I went their last month and the lady washed my hair w/o proper care the water spill in my whole face w/o saying sorry. The fact that they are on promotion amounting $125 and I verify first with the receptionist before proceeding my hair for treatment but end up paying almost $260.00. (double the price.)

The hairdresser cut my hair nice and he has a good customer service but apart from him, sad to say I did not receive a proper customer service from other staff. But because of my bad experience I will not come back again to this salon as they have a poor customer service. They keep asking if you want some drinks but once you choose they never serve you at all. Just keep waiting until you finish and never been serve. Why they ask if they will not serve the customer at all? Better not to ask.: (

Just had the worst experience at this salon- they are the rudest people ever and had my niece in tears - total waste of money- don’t go - going to report the issue to Consumer Affair - not sure how they can demand a deposit and then refuse to refund it when the treatment couldn’t be done because they wouldn’t honour their own Xmas gift voucher because it’s not Xmas yet. Terrible attitude by the staff- not sure how Maurice Mead himself can claim any Customer Service at this store.

Wrote the above earlier but felt compelled to add: My niece was told that she had to commit to the full amount of the treatment or she would lose her deposit. Of course she couldnt as she only made the appointment given she had a voucher. She advised when she made the booking that she will be paying with a gift voucher but didnt think to mention it was a XMAS gift voucher - who would think to do that? To be fair it was listed on the voucher that its valid from the 27th Dec.but nobody looked at that, neither was it ever mentioned when my brother purchased it. Nor is it mentioned in the brochure advertising the Xmas gift Vouchers. Many people get Xmas gift vouchers before Xmas and want to use it and in this instance it was particularly relevant? The acting manager (Rebecca) told her it cant be redeemed until after Xmas and she would have to forfeit her $100 deposit unless she has the full treatment and pay for it and use the gift voucher at a later stage. It seems the four hours put aside for a colourist was more important than any kind of customer service. My niece didnt explain her personal circumstances but I did after finding my niece in so much distress after her treatment by staff at this salon. She has been supporting her mum through cancer treatment for months, moving house etc etc.the one thing she was looking forward to was something for herself, bought for her as a Xmas gift by her Dad. When I explained this to the Rebecca, her answer was that she couldnt get involved or consider any personal circumstance, her priority was the company and their systems that wouldnt allow her to honour the gift voucher before Xmas - simply that we dont care about anything other than company protocol and the four hours put aside, She said she called Maurice Meade himself that endorsed her behaviour and later another director called Rosemary after I explained the situation to her, that then also endorsed her behaviour. In addition her treatment of myself was totally unacceptable shouting at me, to the point where I raised my voice as well in how they dare treat anybody in such a manner, least of all a customer. This resulted in security being called and I had to wait outside of the store perimeter for my niece that agreed to have a cut and blow dry for her $100 deposit that was only offered after I intervened on her behalf. When I said that my niece was so distressed by the treatment she received, Rebecca's answer was, that they didnt cause her distress, she chose to cry herself. May I suggest that no human being would choose to be so distressed unless your treatment caused that. The Colourist, Gabi I think her name is, again reiterated to her, that she set aside a four hour period for the treatment and unless that is paid for, the deposit will be lost. It doesnt seem to factor anywhere that the treatment only could not be done because both Muarice Meade himself and the other director Rosemary wouldnt honour the Xmas Gift Voucher before Xmas? Shame on you - where is your common decency, consideration, compassion and the great customer service you say you have? In addition, we requested a refund of the $345 Xmas voucher which hasnt been used, and apparently not even valid yet - Rebecca the acting manager called both Maurice Meade and director Rosemary who both refused this - how do they expect us to utilise that voucher at any time after this experience? We will be reffering the matter to both Consumer affairs and the ombudsman for clarication on our rights to a refund. Please share this post!

I went to Maurice Meade as another hairdresser ruined my hair, made it dry and brittle and also messed up the cut.
Bec, the manager was amazing and very careing. She listened to my concerns, got colour stylist and the cut stylist to speak to me and what I wanted. I had no appointment but she made it possible and I walked away extremely happy with short and funky hair done by the Frenchie.
The team is great and very friendly.
Highly recommend.

I have been going here for a number of years (8), always a pleasant experience. I have always been happy with what has been done with my hair. I find the staff professional and helpful. I have cuts, restyles, colours and foils and styling done.

I've tried a $10 hair cut, to see what it would look like. This was a $70 hair cut that managed to look far worse then a patchy $10 hair cut. Avoid this place like the plague unless you want your hair butchered and uneven.

Today I had my hair done by Brett. I asked that he cut it short, and after he spent ages making sure I was aware of the implications, he chopped it off. I knew Brett would do a good job because it has always been clear that he is interested, first and foremost, in me. That is the attitude exhibited by everyone at this Garden City store, so his attitude is not unusual in this salon. Indeed, there have been many times when the advice given to me by Justin, Jess, Brett and others, was detrimental (in dollar terms) for the stylist or salon, yet that didn't matter. What mattered to the stylist and others, was how my life would be impacted by the style. Thank you Brett, and everyone else at Garden City for being so good for me.

They are the best. I went in with a mess created by another hair dresser & myself trying to cover her mess. Brett was amazing even though it was a busy Saturday he took the time & fixed the mess. Hes an amazing colourist & so are the apprentices that also help. Then the two amazing hair stylist who helped with the cut. The amazing Katie was who did the cut & gave me an amazing hair style, something Ive always wanted to do.

Thanks guys I highly recommend you.

Fantastic and friendly staff, hopefully going there again today. I've been to other places and they never did shampoo and head massages. This place nailed it, absolutely fantastic!

Amazing customer service from the whole crew but especially from Kayla. Excellent product knowledge left with lots of new products. Could not recommend them more will becoming here from now on.
