Matilda Bay Restaurant

Such a lovely place, with a beautiful view on the river. The staff are attentive and helpful. We only stopped here for some drinks after a show, which were lovely, so we'll have to definitely make a return visit to try out the food as well.
Overall very happy with experience

Poor food. Overcooked, dry and flavourless pork which was only just warm. Prices were over the top.

I have been a coeliac (gluten intolerant) for 35 years and a vegan for the past two and eating out has been a challenge for the simple fact that many restaurants either find it too difficult to cater for specific dietary requirements or they offer a lifeless salad as an uninspiring option. This was not the case yesterday when celebrating Melbourne Cup with work colleagues, Matilda Bay Restaurant kitchen & wait staff went above and beyond to provide me with food I could not only eat but tasted as divine as it looked. This has never happened before in my life! For the first time ever I was treated like my dietary requirements actually mattered, which felt amazing. Thank you Matilda Bay Restaurant, your care and attention meant the world to me. Linda x

Went there to check out the view before our wedding ceremony there.food is not superb but okay. View was very nice at night.
However, our two courses took almost 2 hours to come out.we were wishing they popped out chips first so we can nibble it while waiting.

We had an amazing day here yesterday! We had birthday lunch and spend relaxing walking around the restaurant. Staffs were friendly and professional. The vibe was just stunning! Food was delicious! Drinks were great and cheap for all you can drink. We want to come back here for a special occasion again. Thank you so much for making our special day even more special.

Finally got to Matilda's for a long leisurely lunch. And it was great. Windows flung open and a seat by the water. Watching the boats come and go against the backdrop of Perth town.

The Fremantle octopus was delicious and the pork fillet was tasty. Although I nearly ended up with a steak fillet as a result of a slightly inattentive waitress.

Mrs C had scallops, amazing, and a 10/10 gold band snapper. With a bottle of Tim Adams Pinot Gris is was the perfect day.

Had our anniversary dinner. What a night. The service and food was amazing. The serves of food were perfect. Looking out over the water with the occasional visiting swan.

Top place to dine.

We had the opportunity to have dinner at Matilda Bay on 20th Nov to celebrate my wife's birthday.

All in all it was a wonderful experience. I had read reviews that the staff is friendly, cheerful and supportive and indeed they are. They attended to needs for the kids well and the small coloring package kept one of our boys busy for the entire time.

The food was well presented and tasted exceptional. We had ordered a steak, fish and prawns and a surprise birthday cake. All items were served and presented exceptionally.

We loved the view, the seating arrangements and the location.

Will definitely visit soon but will try and bring some friends along to experience the same.

Lovely food - well presented and delicious. Nice riverside ambience. Friendly staff, if anything a touch unconventional, which is refreshing. Hope to go again soon, makes the perfect place for festive birthday dinners and anniversaries.

Where do i start!? Matilda bay holds a special place in my heart as we held me and my wife’s beautiful wedding here! The view of the yachts and the atmosphere was beautiful! The service was beyond expectations and done very well. The food at matilda bay is out of this world. Could not fault at all! A very big and special thank you to all that made our wedding happen and especially Sianne. Would definitely recommend for a wedding or even a special occasion. You will not be disappointed.

Staff were welcoming, and their attentiveness continued right through the night. The food was faultless, compliments to the chefs. Overall it was an amazing night!

Very friendly, polite and assisting staff. Gave us good recommendation while choosing our meal. We enjoyed spending time there and the Staff (girl) took lots of memorable photos from us.

Everything about our evening was perfect. Seriously tasty food, good selection of wine, friendly service and stunning views. You MUST order the carrots as a side.

I'm writing this on behalf of my parents. I myself was at Matilda Bay a year ago and it was lovely.

It started with the head of house taking them to their table - he needs to relax and at least engage with his guests. The waitress was pleasant. The entree's (prawn dish) were ok but 3 prawns (most of each prawn was the head) at $28? Main meal was ordered and was advised not to order the Barramundi at 20% of guests don't like it! So ordered the Spring chicken - could not even get a knife through it - had 3 mouthfuls and left it (plus the sauce covering it was very unappetising). The other main was the crab spaghetti and there was hardly any crab in the dish. Did not have dessert for obvious reasons.

Will not go back. Our family was going to have a family celebration at the end of the year at Matilda Bay and will now be looking elsewhere.

Enjoyed Fathers Day bottomless brunch with family yesterday. Food wasn’t of the standard I have experienced on prior occasions. Just ok

We hadn’t been to Matilda Bay Restaurant for some time but Thursday nights visit didn’t disappoint. The waiters were terrific, the food was superb, beautifully cooked fish and steak, and the sweets were delightful. A must place to visit, apart from the food and staff, the view is also wonderful. It’s a place where you can you can sit and talk, it’s a calm and relaxing environment.

Once again, we enjoyed a lovely dining experience. Our family and friends from Tasmania had the (non-alcohol) Bottomless Brunch and we couldn't fault the food or service. On arrival with a young baby in a pram, the server endeavoured to find us a table away from a boisterous one, without sacrificing the view. Very much appreciated! We're bring all our staff for our Christmas lunch (and have done so for the last 7 years) as there is no better place.

Stunning place to go and have a meal and casual drink! Food is delicious. Have had several meals from here now. The Steak, Lamb, Fish and Chicken and every single meal that I've had from here has been perfectly cooked, not over cooked, not dry, plenty of sauce on the side and all proteins have been married up with the perfect side orders of varied vegetables to match the protein. The service here is outstanding and everybody that helped me on these evenings out, were so polite and friendly. The view from the restaurant over the Swan River towards the city at night time is just simply stunning! Million dollar views, Million dollar food at the some of the best prices in Perth! Dinner for two with wine and drinks was ~$150.00, so very happy to pay that when you get the service, the great food and the beautiful views all in one! Thanks, will definitely be back again!
